Eventhough it was a bought account, why would anyone buy such an account with such less posts and activities.

The account isn't of much value but how do you know that is a bought account?

Please read my comment without any misunderstanding. I said even if it was bought, I did not say it was bought. Am trying to say why will anyone even want to buy an account that has less activities.

How do you know it is a buy account and why would a person buy into an account where the account has no value when a person can open such an account instantly.

Please I explained myself above. No misunderstanding of my comment. Am only asking why anyone will buy such an account that is almost useless with activities. I did not say the account was bought.

I am in strange trouble at the moment. I am logged in my browser but i have forgotten the password.
I will remain login as long as i don't logout. Is there any way i can recover my password ?

That account was registered in 2016, it is over 6 years and you have not made up to 7 posts since then. That account is not much of anything yet so you can abandon it and start afresh. But something does not fit right with your story. Am lost why you are bothered about reclaiming that account. Eventhough it was a bought account, why would anyone buy such an account with such less posts and activities.
How do you know it is a buy account and why would a person buy into an account where the account has no value when a person can open such an account instantly. This account has only one benefit where opening a new account increases a certain amount of activity after every 14 days.  Since this account is very old there, activity will increase rapidly with posting. But this advantage is not enough to bought one account. This is completely irrational thinking.  It is not uncommon for a person to forget their password

The account isn't of much value but how do you know that is a bought account? I do not see any recent password change or email change which can give the clue that the account is bought. Secondly if it is really bought, the original owner has still has its password, and OP can get help from him knowing his account password.

so it will not a big problem if you lost your account. you can just create a new account and continue to enjoy this forum. but you need to know this forum will never allow your shit posting like before. so keep in your mind of this matter

Yes, he can create new account but before doing that he must know that he has to keep the password save, use an active email, learn how to sign the bitcoin address and the most important thing, abandon the shitposting.

Not remembering your password and forgetting the email attach to your account, could only mean that you don't care about your account here in Bitcointalk so why ask for recovery if you did not secure it in the first place, and since this is a newbie account it's better to create a new one, and next time secure your account, don't wait to rank up before you do it, you'll regret this later.

This is not any big problem. you can forget your password via email but you said on another reply that you are also lost your email address. your account was Newbie with only 3 shit posting.

You can recover the password in many ways. If you save the password in your Google browser you can recover the password, Or you can get a password reset via the email associated with your account. You should definitely remember to write down the password somewhere so that you can retrieve it in case of any problems later. Since you don't follow it, will be very difficult for you to recover your password.

Of course you can recover your password, first is it you ticked the button that says "remain always logged in" which does not require password when logging except you change a device, possibly as well if you google saved it as well, you may easily login except device is changed also, lastly, if the account is truly yours and you provided a functioning email address already created by you, then you can easily press the button of "forgot password" and that could be achieved through your email address, if the email used is unregistered, then stress not yourself further and try to create another except if you have signed a message with it before and you can proof it.

It is very surprising that this account is still login in your browser after 2 years. Account is still newbie so I will try to give you some suggestion. Don't try to change email etc because if you enter wrong password you will be automatic log out and you will not be able to recover this account forever.

First of all stake you Bitcoin address in this thread . If you don't know how to sign message you can take help from this Thread . Now you can use this account until you logout. After logout you can contact recovery team and they will ask for Sign message. This is the only reason I think will help you.

  • Ask a mod to do it
I don't think Mods can help. They will not have access to such features.

We have account recovery team. When my account was hacked they asked me my original email address. I assume it was to verify if I am the original owner. I provided that although the email was hacked too and they knew it. But above everything else the staked bitcoin address was the key information that helped me to get my account back.

In OP's case, unless he have a staked bitcoin address (which he does not), he has zero chance. The account made 5 posts, nothing to lose if he can not recover.[/list]

That is what i was thinking that he didn't forget his password for the last 3 years and never login. Now he login with his password and the very next minute he forgot his password.

Don't know if OP is speaking true or not but in any situation, it is not possible to recover the account if he lost his password, if he does not have any access to email and if he hasn't staked his bitcoin address.
The first thing I thought about the problem the OP was having was, he couldn't recover his account if he forgot his password and used an inactive email. But some suggestions might be considered, and here are the steps:

  • If the OP is using an inactive email, then he can try registering that email so he can reset his password via email. The problem that might arise, he can't sign up for the exact same email he used for his account, and it doesn't allow him to recover his password successfully.
  • Sign bitcoin message. This step is necessary in case the OP asks a mod to help him get his account back "Email and password reset by recovery team"
  • Ask a mod to do it

I don't have access to email too. What are the options now ?

Did I get it right?  You woke up after three years of inactivity, but now cannot remember your password? How did you know it a few minutes ago? And, you cannot access your email account anymore?

This is really fascinating case. I would love it if you could elaborate more on it.

What browser you are using because you might click save password on your account when you sign in to your browser. Try go on the settings>save password and check for Bitcointalk.org account info. There’s no way to recover it using bitcointalk feature because it needs password to do any changes on your account settings. Your best chance is to check your browser if you save the data of your account when you login since browser always ask to save password the moment you login using the account that is still not saved.
For people who are concerned about security and privacy, this step is definitely not recommended.
Because of this, saving password in the browser is not recommended for strong security. Indeed, this step will make it easier for users to login, but of course it is not safe in the long term, especially if the device is easily accessible by other users.

So far I've tried several ways to see how it works to get the OP to get the password, but all of them seem to be useless since normally the browser only asks once at login to save the password or not. So there's no other way, but what's the point of getting the newbie account password since basically the OP could just make more other accounts and leave this one without fuss.

It’s very unusual to forget the password right after you login but I do understand you if you are using too complex password.

Don't remember password
No access to email
No signed message and a stake it in the forum or at least did not have any address posted on the forum which the member can still access it and sign a message from it. However, to do it, that address must come from a non custodial wallet which allows to sign messages.

Combine them, it's impossible to recover the account.
Yes I also think that way as he is not having any access like to his mails and don't know the password and moreover he has not staked the address so that he can verify by signing a message from that address and under these cases it's impossible to get the account back. Moreover as pointed above he just ask this after long period of inactivity which arises suspicion even more and newbie account which doesn't have anything special associated with it why he wants to recover it? But in any case I don't find any ways to have account recovery but he can try once.

Let us not judge OP for lying or anything because OP was inactive for how many years.
Let us be friendly guys and guide those newbies wanted to ask questions and looking for answers.
I assume that OP already log in to his account but forgot the password, yes --if you will log out from the current browser that you have used you will not recover it anymore because you don't have access to your email, go to [Account Related Settings] and change your email, it will perhaps work.

If I were you OP, don't make things complicated, create another account since this your current account does not have activities and did not rank up [newbie status] --buy copper membership if needed to bypass newbie's restrictions such as posting images.

You just woke up today according to seclog, how is it possible you forget the password in that short time even after logging into the account after a long time
I could be wrong about woke up.

About last active time, if you try to log in your account, even it is failed, you will have an active status at the point of time. I am not sure about woke up but maybe it is shown only a member successfully log in his account, not failed.
It shows up if a user has logged in with their last login time being at least 6 months ago.

Do you have selective memory loss?
There is always the possibility of forgetting the password because this OP is still newbie.
The OP also registered his account with random email for whatever reason, and of course I don't think he really wants to use this account on regular basis.

Then I can say that 3 to 4 months (the bare minimum of active state changes) is long time not to forget random password or any combination password, that's because the OP didn't backup or save them in the browser (probably they should).
