Welcome to the forum! I see you just registered an account today. What you should focus on now is skimming through the Beginners and Help section and reading the topics starting from the pinned threads on the board. Your questions are not wrong but it gets annoying when you see the same topics everyday. I’m sure you have questions about Bitcoin before joining the forum. Before starting any more topics, try using the search engine to find the answers to those questions.

Hi good day all, am new here I find this forum very interesting though some one just told me about it and I decided to participate to know more about Bitcoin I have heard about this it is now like a subject in my ears but I take it as a mystery cause I have not much knowledge about it so I hope I will be welcomed and I will appreciate.
I need the rules guiding this forum so I can participate in learning about Bitcoin and some other crypto currencies inside the crypto world.
At first I will welcome you, but I'm telling you that the best step to follow for you to know the rudiments of bitcoin since you are new in the forum is that you should learn first for the tradition of this community, secondly read across all the boards to be able to master all the boards and try to read and comprehend what the text or content of thread is all about, sometimes a research is what triggers fast learning of bitcoin from my perspective.

First of all, welcome to Bitcointalk forum.
The reason our sr colleagues are referring to some previous threads created by some newbies is for you go there and read the response and the links provided there as guide for newbies to learn and start developing their cryptocurrency knowledge.
Many newbies will just come and ask questions, they will not interact in the thread and they will not make use of the responses they have which is a sign of discouragement to other sr colleagues because some of the newbies are not making use of the links provided for them.

Sorry if I sound rude but there’s a thread right under your own with the title “am new here” and I’m sure you saw that thread before you created this one.

How about you go there and read what was suggested for that user? You’re both newbies, and want to learn about crypto which means you’ll still get that same recommendation that’s already in that thread.

Here’s the thread link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/am-a-beginner-5479299
Exactly he would have read that one to know the rules and the links so instead of creating double threads, he use the other thread information. And I believed people have given the Op some of the forum rules threads to follow up. Op anything you don't ask question here and also use the forum search bar and Google Search Engine to get information. Since you said you don't know much about bitcoin then you have to be serious to learn and when your learnt then you will also pass that knowledge to others. And that is one of the core thing here. Don't forget you will be criticized but be bold and have strong heart to over come them. You are welcome.

If you are new here, then be observant, and you will learn more quicker; you don't need to create an "I am new thread." From the beginner and help board, you will find many other similar topics that have been started by other newbies too, and from those topics, you will still find every useful comment that can direct you to how the forum operates. The moment you find your way to the forum and successfully create your account without a proxy ban, then you are welcome to the forum. Use the search icon on the home page to search for any topic that crosses your mind, and if you can't find the topic you seek, then you can create a genuine topic.

On this forum, different topics are discussed every day on different boards, so on any board you visit, kindly check if it has a pin message at the top. Make sure to read it, and you can get every guide regarding that board and also in regards to the framework of the forum.

By the way, the most important rules of the forum are that you must not use AI to create your comments or topics; you must not plagerize; you must not spam; and you must not troll.

Welcome to the board and happy another one find the way to Bitcoin and crypto in general  Wink

The whole subject can be very daunting at first, but as you gradually learn about Bitcoin you will have a fast and steep learning curve for sure. There are various overview threads for beginners, and I can recommend this one about wallets to you to start with, because this a topic many can go wrong at the beginning:

Hey OP (Opening Poster), welcome to the forum Smiley

I think that your doubts were solved in another thread opened just a few days ago. Personally, I am not the guy who blames on newbies cluttering the Beginners & Help board (what else?), but this is a friendly reminder to search minimally before asking, especially when your answers are in the same page you plan to post.

It seems that some newbies are afraid to post because they don't want to break the rules, and it is okay to be cautious to some extent. Especially considering that a few veteran members get a little mad when they read the same questions and platitudes time after time.

No need to stress if you're still figuring out this whole Bitcoin thing.  I remember feeling majorly confused at first too.  Asking questions is smart - lots of folks here who know their stuff and don't mind explaining

As for rules "guiding this forum", seems you already scored some solid perspectives from the OG members.
