It is possible that the old holders of bitcoin won’t panic to hear the news, they will definitely hold it because they already know the potential of bitcoin and how it work in the future and it’s natural if the beginners panic and sell their bitcoin because they are afraid of the losses and the beginners don’t really understand yet about the benefit of bitcoin if they hold it in a long-term.
If FUD/panic happens then it’s a good opportunity to increase our altcoin because the selling price will decrease and then we can buy it (with our money). And the price maybe will rise in the future.

I, myself is new to this cryptocurrency thing and I'm also affected by these FUD roaming around the internet that is why I just invested what I can afford to lose. of course, I am hopeful that all altcoins will bounce back soon. let us hope for the better and ignore negativity.

Welcome to the ecosystem. And since the market is based on speculation, you can't take away that there are a lot of people who are going to spread FUD not just in this community but in other social media as well. Actually before bitcoin gain popularity, a lot of media have been attacking it. And intensifies when it became well know specially mid 2017. Of course the price may pullback because of the false news, however long term effect? it won't. As much as we don't like negative rumors, its not only in this ecosystem, but you can also find FUD's in stock market as well. So you better research and use your better judgement before making your move to dump your bitcoin and don't panic if the market crashes.
I think the same as you, a lot of people are always blindly buying everything that they want, and that is the main reason of why they are losing a bunch of money, because they do not even know in what the hell are they investing.

Best thing for you is to shutdown your news feed and hodl your Bitcoin. Fud will pass and market will turn to bullish again but once you sold all your BTC during dip, you will need to reenter at the higher price. About people not having knowledge, you can take advantage of it and book profit yourself. It is not your fault that they are not doing their assignment. Let them learn their lesson the hard way.. And make profit out of it.
I think that is the common reason why some of the investor and holders panic selling because of that fud news about bitcoin fluctuation instead of spreading some good news about it they destroyed bitcoin name such as scam and etc. However let that shit spread the must important is to hold until bitcoin recover and convince some people to do some investment on it.
