I will not relent to commend you for the level of discipline you displayed by not touching the coins in your possession that you've not marked out for gambling. I will like to tell you that this should not make you to be mad at your friend, what you should do is that anytime the only money you have is the same money you want to use fur gamble and someone wants to borrow it then you don't have to borrow it to the person, so that what happened to you noe will not repeat it self again.
Most tomes you just have to learn how to say no, it is not all the time you should say yes, if someone wants to borrow money from you and you do t have much to give you should not give because the ending parts of paying back loan can be funny sometimes.

Once we are borrowing any amount of money from our friends and use it for gambling then that's a bad idea cause in the world of gambling we can not assure that everytime we put our bet we will always have a profit but in  reality in gambling it will base on luck once we are too lucky then there's high possibility that we will win a good amount of money but if we are unlucky then Lossing streak has a chance to take over us.

Lending $10 is not a big deal. And if OP has no other money then that $10 then why is a gambling in the first place? Aren't we supposed to gamble with the money that we can afford to lose? It's none of my business but to me, he could have just added more funds and gamble with that. But he only gambled with $1. Which is not bad considering the winning amount.

It could have been that you could have lost the entire money after placing the bet with 10$. So it was just a game of your luck so you bet 1$ and you win 50$ and there are many such cases in my life. However gambling loans should not be given because if the person loses it will create a bad reaction in his mind which will make him not want to pay you back. I also borrow money from my friends many times but i pay him back. Because it is addiction for me so when i don't have money i may need to borrow so i follow the matter personally.
