It is the weekly Friday data dump by theymos (the head admin) but it is not real time. http://loyce.club/Merit/merit.all.txt

Oof.. It ate my ram. Where does theymos dump it officially? In what thread?

No. We don't need pyramid quote. As you see, I don neither quote all your original post nor pyramid quote when I replied. To save time, you should watch the guide video made by Steamtyme. Post formatting

Or get if from theymos, but you have to extract that file: https://bitcointalk.org/merit.txt.xz. That page is provided in my thread I gave you, maybe you did not check it carefully.  Cheesy

Why are you showing fractions of numbers ?

Fractions? This kind of fractions?

No I'm asking why you have fractions on your counter page for the BitCoinTalk stats.

Explain more my friend. I don't get why you use the "fractions" word. I don't use any fractions on my page.

It looks like you're using data from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats, but is this page still updated?
I thought the same, but it looks like only the "forum History" tab isn't updated anymore. But I keep refreshing the page and the number of total posts, topics and users online keep changing, so I guess those are still updated?
His work is always updating every second, (total post, total members, total topics, and members online is changes every second) so I guess it is updated right?

Anyway Nice work! @BlackHatCoiner, It's not really essential but it's nice to have it here it could also it useful for some reasons Wink

Thank you  Wink

Always nice to have a nice clean interface as I believe these statistics are hidden here on the forums. I'm not sure of the overall accuracy of those statistcs,  but like TryNinja said they seem to be somewhat up to date on the statistics included on the site.
For now, the Bitcointalk livecount stats site provides very limited stat types:
  • Total posts
  • Total topics
  • Total members
  • Total online members
All of these fours are available in the forum's statistics center but I see it has at least one advantage compare to what provides by the forum:

Statistics are automatically updated (almost realtime statistics) and guest don't have to refresh page (F5) to get newest ones. However, I still think that we don't actually need such real time stats. What we need is stats for a specific time points, start- / end-days of months, years, etc. So if OP plans to keep the site operatings for too long, the site needs more columns or categories for different type of stats, especially for summary stats.

BTW, it is better if OP develops his site further and provides additional statistics that have not yet given by the forum or were stopped updating for a long time. Some of them are:
  • Forum History (using forum time offset) - at the bottom of the Statistics center. It were stopped updating since December 2017.
  • Total autobanned/nuked users
  • Total merit transacted

For #2: It is impossible to get the total of autobanned/ nuked users within the whole history of the forum. loyceclub provides such stats, but it only started since at January 04, 2019, 08:03:06 AM.
(Un)official pages that store forum data
I have a thread on this too but it was updated weekly, not real time. At-least-1 sent & earned merits users , excludes autobanned/ nuked. Stats!

Hello @tranthidung, yes I'm working on saving data (like when most people are online in the day). I'm not registered years on this forum so I don't know what's that forum history that was stopped updating in December 2017. How exactly can I calculate all the merit transactions? They're not on a blockchain  Tongue . I mean, there is no official list that saves every transactions. Not to mention that when you click on a profile it shows you only transactions of the 120 last days.

Lastly, OP should check DdmrDdmr's page too. That page provides many types of stats and I don't remember them to give you a quick summary here.

That's not a sub-domain. It works on sub-domains, but that thing is just a folder from your public_html. I think the code searches from "/" thats why it doesn't work on folders inside the "/".

Every 5 seconds a file called "posts.php" gets load to your browser. It contains a php function that scraps the stats from the stats page and creates cookies with values analogous. The javascript code simply calls (gets more correctly) the cookies (i think every second).

Just for my knowledge... what is the cookie script for on that page?
(view source)
Looking at the code, he scrapes the forum and puts the data inside your browser's cookie. The main page them gets the data from the saved cookie and shows in the page.

It looks like this:
Code:
topics=1239451; totalmembers=2778965; posts=54194412; members=449

Trust me, it will get worse, and you will have withdrawal symptoms from any extended breaks that you take.
I couldn't translate this. Is this a threat?
No. It means you're going to like this forum more and more. At some point you'll miss Bitcointalk when you don't visit it for a while.

Oh, like nostalgia? Well I like the forum for 2 reasons.

1) I'm so interested on bitcoin.
2) One of the biggest forum that exists in the internet right now. There are tons of useful topics I want to read. This place is worthing literally bitcoins...

Yes I'm taking numbers from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats and yes they keep update there too.
I think the only thing that doesn't get updated from the stats page is page views.

It looks like you're using data from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats, but is this page still updated? The number of topics for instance is 4 million lower than the current highest topic number. Many topics have indeed been deleted, but the post count is barely lower than the current highest post number while many posts have been deleted too. Could it be deleted topics are really gone, while deleted posts are still counted as they're still stored in a hidden section?

LoyceV, are you talking about that number?
https://i.imgur.com/ZEyY4de.png

Yes, that number does not determine the number of posts/topics. It determines... let's say the times "Post" button has been pressed  Grin
