I'm not going to go into quantitative easing right now, except to clarify that governments do quantitative easing through loans from their central banks.

The government issue bonds, which investment banks buy and pay interest to the government. How else are they going to get the money they print into the economy? Leave it on the street corner and let people come past and collect what they like? Give all citizens $900 cash (sorry, this isn't Australia where that happened in 2008).

You have that backwards, it's the banks that earn interest on the bond issued. This equates to a loan the government takes out from the banks, which the people end up paying back. Here's another video that (in the first few minutes) explains this better than I can.

not to mention they also like printing their own money out of thin air.

Umm... the government does quantitative easing, not the banks...

I'm not going to go into quantitative easing right now, except to clarify that governments do quantitative easing through loans from their central banks. All governments have the power to print their own money, interest free I might add, but instead they borrow it from their central banks at interest. On a more personal level, the banks loan you money (at great risk to yourself, if you can't pay it back on time) which they bring into existence through your loan with no risk to themselves. If you want to learn more about how the banks operate fraudulently in full support of governments to enslave the masses, watch the videos in the link I posted earlier.

Why would anyone love them? Have you not heard of the subprime mortgage crisis / the credit crunch? They bankers are criminals who are sadly above the law and can get away with theft and fraud and nobody does shit about it, so that's why we hate them... not to mention they also like printing their own money out of thin air.

Yes, you are perfectly right!
I paying mortgage for my house and feeling like modern day slave.
Banks have to much power over us, simple human beings.
I really hope this will change soon and bitcoin is really one step toward this goal (take power from banks and give back to the people).

Don't mind! Once upon a time there were feudal lords...now they are replaced by bankers! I'm just worrying who would replace the bankers as next oppressors.

Industry-wide bad practices. They screw over honest people with BS contracts (annual membership dues whether or not you activate a card, "overdraft protection" which happens to not include Paypal or any other ACH withdrawal) but're willing to wipe most <$1k debts from serial scammers without hesitation. I took a 150-point hit on my credit score at one time because I only had two credit cards and no outstanding loans outside. One was newer, one was 14 years old. The old debt was sold to another bank, so on the report, the credit age switched to 0 years. Suddenly, I'm at high risk of default. Angry

I'll be honest -- I keep a mental list of people and places I'm okay with screwing over. So far, it includes three banks, a bankrupt electronics hobby store, an ISP, and a now-fired plumber. Cheesy Back when I was more naive, I actually paid $250 in fees for a $4 over-draft (they didn't send me a letter for three months) on an account I almost never used just to close the account -- after all, I should've read the fine print on what "overdraft protection" doesn't cover. A lot of people here have studied economics and currency history which is why we all hate banks, honestly, when you learn real history instead of the bullshit they teach you in school you hate all sorts of things and people who don't know better think you're mad for it until they actually look at what happened in the past. You'll also find you end up hating government and religion quite a lot because they are the ones largely responsible for causing most of the problems in the world.

there you go Smiley now run for government and sort the world out id vote for you.

simple and true i dont hate banks just think like the music industry there really out dated and theres better ways. also i simply dont trust them same as governments and people who believe in religion and the police there probably more corrupt than anyone else.

I had the same feeling. Still don't think everyone really does. It's just that a lot of people had bad experience with them and see how they take money away so easily for nothing. I think that is what upsets people everywhere.
