Just spent some time reading about the self-proclaimed "most famous person in bitcoin." Hope he experiences an eternity of cock-punches someday.

Have you called him or visited his office?

He works like 4 blocks away from where I am sitting right now.

Want me to bust some balls?

To the OP,

How did you find Bruce Wagner?  Just curious.  I am surprised he is still able to pull in marks.   He can't advertise here, he can't on rediit, he can't anywhere there is any significant bitcoin presence (because people will drown him out with calls of scams).  Yes somehow he still gets his message to the people he scams.

Any links you can provide will be useful.  Oh and next time buy from someone you can trust ... like Tangible Cryptography. Wink

http://buybitcoin.com/home/

Notice all the insane conditions in the FAQ.  It's intentionally misleading because he tells people the "best" ways to buy Bitcoin but doesn't accept most of those payment methods - and then states that he won't refund payments sent by "unapproved" payment methods.

Quote
If you send a payment by any method that is not authorized by us — as explained clearly on this FAQ page — your payment will NOT be processed.

If you attempt to deposit anything other than green paper US currency as US dollars, or…
If you attempt to make any other sort of direct account transfer to any of our accounts, or…
If you mail any sort of payment, or…
If you use any other form of payment method or system that is not explicitly permitted on this page, or…
If you send less that our required minimum purchase amount, or more than our allowed maximum purchase amount,
Your payment will NOT be processed.    and…
You will NOT receive Bitcoins, nor any refund.
Our “receiving” the payment, whether it was made by mail, bank transfer, deposit, or any other method, is NOT an acknowledgment of any agreement to process your purchase order.

He's selling at over $17, by the way, so I think he's intentionally seeking out a black market.  The deposits into his accounts have no reference numbers, they're identified by the number of cents in the transaction.

Which of his many different bank accounts did you deposit to, OP?

The NEW Bitcon Show should feature video of Bitcoin users tracking down and confronting other users who ripped them off.  I would watch that ALL DAY.  Or, if someone wants try it...I will film, edit, score, etc.  Dead serious.

Just talked to my bank and since I did a cash transfer there is nothing that they can do at this point Sad. They recommended filing a police report or taking legal action.  What do you guys think I should do?

a police report might scare him into refunding you.

Either that or he might decide he needs another vacation...  what's the weather like in Pattaya this time of year?    Cool

At this point, we drive him out to a little town called "Montauk Point" in his boxers... and tell him to walk home.  Or he can pay 1BTC per mile to get a ride.

I know people.
