For now XRP is not the right and safe choice to buy, because the XRP management is solving problems with the SEC, so, it is very risky if you want to buy XRP when you are in trouble like now, in my opinion, you better chosen to buy litecoin because of litecoin better than XRP, besides that Litecoin is one of the altcoins that has great potential in the future,

Ripple could really go up if they settle with the SEC over their lawsuit. But it's a big IF and I wouldn't gamble like that with $ 5k.
There are other cryptos that would be much better long term investments in my opinion.

Because of their issue with SEC, they are not a good and safe choice, but if that issue is not existing I could pick Ripple easily, Ripple could have reached $1 to $5 if not for the SEC issues if you have an appetite for high-risk investment, pick Ripple it's a better choice than a new coin if only I can figure out if they can win their case I will buy because if the court favors them they will have a huge pump, the biggest pump ever.

I prefer going to Litecoin and it's an old coin with always good potential in the market it's also a safe coin to invest in compared to Ripple who is having issues with SEC, XRP is a centralized coin in the market, which manipulated everything and if the court favored the SEC you could lose your investment, so go for a safe that is Litecoin.

It would be a bad move if you invest your 5k in XRP.. the market was already bullish but XRP was not really good performance, Litecoin is better than XRP but I would recommend to invest these altcoins which are Polkadot, Binance coin and Cardano, they can still increase more in the future if you can hold for long..

I like Litecoin myself, but if you're not willing to hold, then you shouldn't be entering the market now at all. Maybe wait for this bubble to burst before deciding what to go in, but you're only able to look at hot defi coins now and buying them for profit.
But personally, you're better off depositing in a casino and gambling. Cause that's essentially what you're doing if buying not for holding.

First of all, this depends on how much risk you will be able to bear with $5000.
I will use $3500 to invest in bitcoin and trade it, so I can have the opportunity to make a profit in USDT or bitcoin. I will use $1k to invest in Litecoin and use $500 to invest in XRP. If somehow, I can have a profit in USDT, I will buy more Litecoin pair USDT or if the profit is not too big, I will allocate the money to XRP. Maybe that is not a good idea regarding XRP, but @OP mentions those two coins. If @OP has the other coins to invest in, I will search for more options to invest in that coin. Where's the 712.98% come from? That looks like a made up number especially if it doesn't give the original value.
Like mentioned, I'd stay away from xrp if you can. Litecoin is like beta testing for bitcoin so feel free to invest in that and wait for a better fork there that's yet to come to bitcoin.
Aside from that, if the best growth was previously in bitcoin, why are people not going to keep investing in that for a while? It's still the most well known and the most secure.
It is about ATH indicator, XRP is at a such low level compared to what ATH was and most coins increased their ATH as well, bitcoins was 20k now it is at 50k and eth was 1500 or so and peaked at 2k or so basically this means if XRP increased like everyone else it should be somewhere between 4 dollars to 7 dollars and that kind of calculations has been around for a very long time. Doesn't mean it is right, as you can see from the prices it shows that nothing like that happens and it is not really a true indicator, but it is something people still do anyway.Like mentioned, I'd stay away from xrp if you can. I believe they are "made up" in the sense that people see a number and make a calculation so it is not 100% made up but it is made up because who says that calculation will be true? Nobody.

There are still plenty of altcoins that are highly profitable. why are you only targeting tiru for XRP and LTC. XRP has in fact been an outcast coin, while Litecoin has never shown any certainty in terms of user value. You can see how ADA or Dot has exploded, ETH or BNB is also creating exciting and scale battles. I agree that with the above four options, it would be more satisfactory than xrp or ltc. $ 5k is perfect for these 4 powerful altcoins. i dont think it would be a smart move to invest in xrp this time. their ongoing lawsuit is not going away anytime soon. if you are going to choose between xrp or ltc, definitely, i will advise you to opt for ltc. but it is the OP's money, so at the end of the day, it is his decision here.
but he needs to weigh his options here, the pros and cons. also, why not BTC? as Rengga Jati asked here also. with BTC, you know for sure, there is solid market for this. and if not, diversify your portfolio with valuable alts. i think it is not good time to select xrp in your portolio. just my 2 cents here.
