You're dream is what most of us also dream. However, if price fluctuates too much, it may not be a viable option for businesses to use as a medium of payment. They might gain or lose money if they don't adjust prices accordingly to bitcoin's price. But setting aside that negative aspect, it's good for businesses because payments don't go through a mediary and thus cut off extra fees, but if government saw this early on, they might impose restriction, altering what cryptocurrency is supposed to be, a decentralized system held by no one.

As far as I observed, more and more establishments, groceries and business are opening their line with cryptocurrency. In our town, we have convenience stores, before, they only accepts payment for bitcoin in terms of cashing in to wallet address of the customers. Months later, I think the owner of the convenience store noticed that there's a huge volume of people cashing in, and that might be the reason why they opened up their store to accept currency especially bitcoin.

I am very inspired by the photo above, which implies the Lightning Network is mostly used for small or micro transactions that have a low risk. Large transfers that require decentralized security are more likely to be done on the original layer.

I hope you guys know that you are just repeating the history, that man who paid a lot of bitcoin in just one slice of pizza. Let me elaborate my opinion about this. If there is a store selling burger that cost 0.0005 Bitcoin (let's say the price of bitcoin that day was $9,000) and you bought it using bitcoin, the other day the price of bitcoin changed to $9500, you just lost $.25 in one burger, what more if you are going to use cryptocurrency on buying things that could be bought by fiat just to say "Hey I have bitcoin" in a way.

This is what we called wants and needs, our "wants" must be in fiat, and our "needs" must be in cryptocurrency.

That is the risk of using cryptocurrency when the time comes, the reason why crypto cant easily legalize or to be used in our daily life. Its price is not stable, it can be changed every second depends on the flow of the market.
It would be hard to adopt and it takes a lot of time before they can think of a solution for every risk we have, before we can finally use bitcoin in our daily life.

This thread will become historical in the future when your dreams come true. the like of this thread is like that of Pizza thread. this will be the first picture of the community's first accepting bitcoin public market. more and more people are going to accept are beloved cryptocurrency. and later on, not only in the public market but also in some other shops too. in its first 10 years, we are now far from what we are expected. next 10 years will also be on the next stage.

This is  truly Satoshi vision everything else is not,  We  have  waiting this movement for every long.  I believe  very  soon a lot of people will start accepting bitcoin as  payment method in their small businesses like this.  When we get more  merchant  to  start accepting BTC the price will be quit  stable.
Maybe in some countries it will happen, but what about others?
Actually I also want the same as you. Pay for something purchased with crypto, because it's easier and more efficient. But in some countries, it's against the rules because the government doesn't want it. But I hope that a big change will happen and the government changes their perception of crypto.
It will happen, but it takes time to be achieved. If some countries will adopt it, more other countries will also do the same. Thats how business works, if they think that it will contribute to the growth of their country, they will accept even if they made a statement before for not accepting bitcoin whatever happens. Visualize the great things that might happen, do not look for the negative things.

This is great stuff but you know I have only one dream right now * to somehow make cryptocurrencies legal in whole globe*
To make it a * global currency*
To let people use it freely , without going underground that's how they won't be doing bad business without the eyes of the government.
Government can regulate but don't ban it .
I have a dream that we also have a law firm to stand up against those government bodies that tag bitcoins *fishy* *unpredictable* *spam* * bad for the society* .
Only If people could be more open minded.
Unfortunately, Bitcoin will do better as an asset class than a currency IMHO.

One day, I'll be able to buy daily groceries on OpenBazaar using Lightning Network.

Looks like the first step has been taken at Farmer's Market, University District, Seattle right now...

Another step has been taken at Spar Supermarket in Arnhem city, Netherlands. You can buy groceries and pay in Bitcoin over Lightning Network...

This will dream of yours will surely come to reality anytime soon, we just have to be optimistic and positive thinkers to make this into a reality since crypto currencies are now widely accepted of most countries. No doubt we all be seeing more of this in some stores worldwide.

Its nice to see that altcoins are also being accepted along with Bitcoins at various retail counters. As we all know Bitcoin is already being accepted by many business organizations in the world but now altcoins are also there in the que its indeed a overwhelming news Most of the altcoins are struggling fo their survival in the market after bear run in 2018 so its the need of the time to get them a push. If market start accepting altcoins for goods then altcoins will also be back on the track.

Thought you were singing with the title lol.
It is a wishful thinking and he will have more than just a song when his dream becomes reality, imagine we have thousands of merchants implementing bitcoin as payment method, which would mean a whole lot of very high increase for the value of bitcoin because there would be so much demand for it.

I am sure that as we advance in the use of bitcoin, there is going to be a day that many merchants including the grocery stores will all have bitcoin as a payment option, and that would be an eye opener to for those who are not familiar with the payment system, because what they would just like to know is how to use it, and we need more users of bitcoin than investors, there is going to be more demand of bitcoin from users than investors that just buy to keep the coin in their wallet.

It's not only your dream but everyone who is involved in Trading and investing in Bitcoin, I would love to travel in other countries where I only have a ledger and my cellphone I can use for verification along with my private keys and a small amount of money and use my Bitcoin for all my expenses.

That would be great, imagine traveling to other places where you have no restrictions on the amount of money you can carry, here in our country you are limited to the number of dollars you can bring out and you are heavily taxed for bringing extra.

We are all waiting for this to happen and it will happen soon.

Other countries are already active on making cryptocurrency as a real medium of exchange and im here sitting, patiently waiting for some restaurants, groceries or bars that would offer crypto as payment. Im not ranting about this either, atleast the country is still not banning bitcoin although it has a silent treatment with it.

I don't think so. My country is the text book example of a country that should have abandoned fiat and moved to Bitcoin, and yet is has failed to materialize. Efforts for promoting crypto are pathetic at best, despite a few news you might read about here and there, reality in the street is that is 99% non-existent.

Elsewhere i explained that what people do is keep the crypto but at the last moment exchange the absolute minimum required. Some people still do that with fiat from other countries, mostly USD, and a few merchants do accept those fiat directly; certainly more than Bitcoin or any other altcoin. No one came campaigning for Bitcoin, but a few altcoin events have taken places, which is why you may werdingly see a "We accept Dash here" in a mall where you won't see a single Bitcoin accepted sign. Needless to say, 0 clients actually bother paying with Dash, once they calculate the exchange rate they get ripped off, so its better to stick to: exchange into fiat (yes, even from Dash). I haven't personally ever bothered with that coin, but i at lease made a couple of real transactions directly in Bitcoin. In one occasion, i was able to buy a GPU card, paying 1 sat/B as fee got confirmed in one hour, picked up the item the same day, where normally using fiat it would take AT LEAST a couple of days for the seller to confirm a bank deposit. No, you can't use our garbage fiat to buy things, because banknotes are very scarce and the biggest one isn't even worth 4 USD. When you attempt withdrawing cash from a bank, you are only allowed a SINGLE bank note per day, so think, about 4 USD in cash.

That's what you get with hyperinflation. Again, text book example...
