AFTER we get scammed, we wish that we could destroy the coins that we've been swindled of.

what happened to Pirate after he was caught ?

^^^
perhaps they can sit in the same cell as Pirate, Ian, Tradefortress, Ukyo and what.. literally 30 other people ?
Ahhh wait.. I always get tropical Island mixed up with Jail cell.. my mistake !

It wont change if bitcoiners life after the motto of "not throwing good money after bad money". Pirate was catched... labcoin scammer will be catched too. And it looks like bitcoiners changed mind. They will go after them.

The case is still ongoing i believe. Didnt read of a verdict yet.

General rule of thumb is that you're a new user and you choose to do business with other new users, there is a 100% chance that you will get scammed, or you're a scammer yourself.

I completly agree with the above.

It's a shame as there seems to be so many more scammers in here now which obviously puts a terrible image of bitcoin to new comers

Thats why i think its important to catch the scammers. For example i work with others to find the labcoin scammer. When these guys see they land in jail for messing with bitcoin community then scams will become less likely. Of course some groundrules still have to apply.

Always use a trusted escrow when trading. Of course he must be known as a trusted one. You shouldnt simply use some other noob account who claims to be an escrow because the other mght suggest him. The escrow might be another account of the scammer. But if a real escrow is involved your money is safe until the trade is done. Thats how you trade securely.

Yup, you got scammed. What was his user name on here?

everyone speaks bad of my country here just apes and  thiefs! But all businesses have made here or the staff of the Japan never had problems here I thought it was a world first forum and I'm stealing this way! Excuse my rant but never experienced it before! Live and learn! And unfortunately thief has to be everywhere in my country (Brazil) or here, is only discrimination that should not have anywhere!

The name of my "friend" is Coin-Exchange.CC

Is there anything I can do to not get into mischief?

Is your wallet synced?

what does that mean? As I said I am new in the business of bitcoin! but I think he received bitcoins!

Oh, bad news then...
Coin-Exchange.cc is known as a scammer on the German board and in some other subforums
He also does an escrow scam using bitmerch (bitcoin shopsystem) and many other bad things.

How much paid you him?

Cheers
Bitcoiner222

Do not tell this guy! WTF! MF! 0.23 bitcoins! Angry
