Accept my congratulations. It's a really cool achievement. But I can't catch one thing. How can people getting the MBD be unfamiliar to Bitcoin? It sounds odd a bit.

I'm having an MBA degree on Marketing. Due to COVID19, we are having classes online. However, we had a term paper submission and presentation on "Deceptive Advertising". I have selected the freebitco advertisement and had presented their Bait and Switch method to attract newbies to have click on their site.
The advertisement is- "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" which I think totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I felt lucky when teacher asked me what bitcoin is actually after my presentation, I gave a short answer to them.
This was really great achievement of me, it may not be to you. I feel lucky if I get a chance to talk about bitcoin among my country men.
Personally, i must say that that is indeed a great achievement, not just for you but for the whole bitcoin community. Being known in a simple way is still one way of informing others about what bitcoin is all about. And to think that that presentation was for MBA Degree is huge!

As for me, I can only share bitcoin to my siblings — for now. I am still looking forward to the day that I will be able to share my knowledge about it to a bigger crowd and make a simple contribution to the digital currency.

For you, it is a huge achievement indeed to share anything about Bitcoin to many people. What's better is that you got a positive comments from them.

If I can just express myself and teach somebody regarding Bitcoin then I will do it. Unfortunately for some reasons I can't teach somebody about Bitcoin even to my family. I only teach my couple about this but still I don't teach all that I know.

I just hope that more and more people like you will advertise Bitcoin to other people.

Freebitco advertisement is not a deceptive ad. You really can win up to $200 worth of bitcoin on playing and rolling dice on their sites. Well it's a great advertisement strategy. Catchy. But you know that they are legitimate one. It's good to know that you're spreading your knowledge from bitcoin. Keep it up!

Freebitcoin isn't really a scam unless they don't come through with that Lambo they promised. All they saying is that they giving away up to $200 an hour. It could be $0.50 and still be "up to" it would only have to go up to $200 once in order to be true. So many advertisers use this sort of thing. It is because it's hard to keep up with the competition making all these promoses.

Look at internet hosting. They often sell "unlimited" hosting. It's not really unlimited.

Though the concept is good upon teaching your fellow countrymen but giving advertisement I think that is too early for them. Firstly, you should share the function of Bitcoin and how it uses, the blockchain technology, how useful it is. Freebitco.in ad isn't bad but I think that is gambling, you don't know it might gambling was prohibited by them.

Overall, that's a great initiative of yours, you have the courage to teach them without expecting in any exchange. Well, congrats for your achievements, I hope they understand by now the usage of Bitcoin.

So did this give a negative view of bitcoin to the class? I guess I'm a little confused by what you're saying exactly.

Nonetheless I thin it's awesome that you've brought bitcoin in to a "situation" where you were given the opportunity to teach people about it whom likely otherwise would not have learned about it any other way.  I recently did the same thing on a work call.  We all had to introduce ourselves and then describe a new piece of technology were are using ( a warm up exercise of sorts).  I talked about using bitcoin and got a lot of great reaction.

Good job, that little effort of yours could contribute to the adoption in the space, who knows these people you are educating might be interested and with the little information you gave to them, it will lead them to do more research to know more about bitcoin and they will eventually adopt.

You should be proud of yourself, we are proud of you as well as that's what we should do to help the adoption of the market as this is just for our own good. This really tells us that only few people knows about bitcoin and it's good to know that they know not coming from the scammers or those who are using bitcoin for ponzi scheme investment scams.

I hope they won't be turn of if they know that this...

This way is necessary, especially to introduce Bitcoin and other cryptos to the general public. So that they can at least know in advance about Bitcoin and crypto. And if there is interest, at least they want to get to know it better. I appreciate the way you introduce this to your friends and teacher in class.

... The advertisement is- "Win $ 200 bitcoin per hour" which I think is totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I ...
This is the main attraction.
However, it would be better if introducing them to how Bitcoin is, its advantages and also its risks. And how are the systems and conditions in the crypto world in general. This may be explained to them later or further. So that they know Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies not only related to the rewards or income they might get.
It is important to introduce the risks that may occur to them, including the existence of a scam.
Because, if they only focus on the rewards they can get, I'm afraid they'll just think about it. And they start looking for such sites or channels that give gifts in the form of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
The worry here is that they might get caught in the scams. Currently, there are so many websites, social media, and YouTube channels that scams in such a way that it attracts many newbies. they were deceived because they had to make a deposit first and their money was lost by the scammers.

You may have explained this to them too. Or if not, this seems like it needs to be explained. for anyone who is interested in the next, must be informed about this.

But beyond that, really, easy and simple steps like what you gave to your friends are very helpful to spread or introduce crypto especially Bitcoin to more people.
good luck.
I personally have also started to do it, in a simple way for each of us.

That was a good opportunity not only on your side but also for this community. We all know that there are lots of deceptive advertising that happens, it is their way to scam more people. But that's a good way to change what and how they think about bitcoin. This way, they will at least have to know about bitcoin in a positive way.

Though in case of freebitco, they are not a scam site and just to correct a lil bit about the advertisement from freebitco's site -
It says, win up to $200 in free bitcoins, so it is not the "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" as the OP presented. They have a lil bit of difference in meaning here. Anyway, we really see a lot of false advertisements everywhere, bonuses or rewards from casinos with certain requirements that they don't disclose outright. But to avoid these situations, trapped in a false advertisement, first make sure that you are visiting a legit website and not a potential phishing website. Because most legit websites will really give what is offered but of course it entails certain requirements to accomplished before getting such reward.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I would also tell any of the people around me about Bitcoin and also guide them to get involved in the crypto space.

Once we manage to convince people that there are other ways of looking at money at that time, we will gain more Bitcoin users.

While it feels great to explain blockchain or Bitcoin stuff to people, I kinda feel exhausted especially as it's still hard to have people understand what you're talking about.
Trueeee. It really feels good sharing some knowledge of yours to some people but it gets tiring as the time passes when they start to check their phones while you are talking them, it gets me frustrated every time but I can't blame them because of their personal interest.

On the other hand, what is truly surprising is that a high percentage of the people I talk with about Bitcoin actually become interested in it after a while. But I'd surely love to have a BTC presentation at one point in my life.
It's not for me, they just always ask what's with bitcoin and other coins, what they commonly asks to me is if it is really profitable, how they can gain money from it, is there no money involve ( like wtf ), and so on. I'm studying in a technology school, there was a time that I attended a blockchain conference, I expected it to be technical enough for me to understand but it was just an introduction, it seems like even my professors are having hard time to understand what it really is, I think the age is a factor here somehow.

How old is your marketing teacher? It is very strange that he has not heard anything about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies before, while being (and even teaching others) in the field of marketing. At our Institute of Economics, all departments know exactly what cryptocurrencies are and most of them know how to use them, and some even trade.

So basically you've thought them that most of crypto related activities and marketing strategies are often deceptive? Cheesy lol. But you're right, some platform tends to have a ridiculous offer in which some successfully pulled things off yet some are tagged as scams with such deceptive advertising.

What else have you thought them? I hope you've only told them what is the basics of Bitcoin and blockchain, or crypto in general, and not this forum. Some people might be doubtful most likely on how to earn in here and that's an issue we keep dealing and dealing in the Beginners and Help board.

And I've also remembered that some on my collegiate friends had used crypto as their research if our country or the local university is aware with such technology or not. AFAIK, lecturing others is the best feeling especially if you would share an innovative knowledge like the crypto and Bitcoin per se (to also prevent them with the false ideology that crypto is a scam)

Op you have done well in choosing something related to bitcoin for your advert assignment and your teacher has developed interest too which is very nice. The interest is willingly and that is the best way to educate somebody about cryptocurrency and bitcoin.

Interesting way of showing people what Bitcoin is and what Bitcoin is not))) Good example really to clarify people starting from something deceptive and after this to give the good explanation what is the real thing. May I ask you - have your teacher understood what the Bitcoin is? And what his reaction was after that? Because my father, for example, do not want even to try to listen about BTC and crypto. He does not believe that something like this is possible and that it really works and Blockchain is not the myths, but our nowadays reality)) so really interesting to read about your teacher's reaction

Nice job if you have shared what bitcoin is to your fellow classmates and even to your teacher. Being a student before, we're the ones that were taught about things and life. But in your case, you've just shared what bitcoin is to your teacher.

Not all teachers are like those who are open to know and ask about bitcoin. And anyone who's asking about it, you can give an answer as long as they want to know it what really it is.
