This is my first post and I'm quite happy to be here. Although it took me quite a while to come across this great platform that focus more on Bitcoin. Bitcoin as the master of all crypto currencies had been my major interest when it's comes to learning about the crypto world. Sometimes I get surprise seeing how it's price flunctuate going up and down forming a higher high(HL) and higher low(HL) which keeps me amazed of what could be behind it volatile movement and the entire system. I'm ready to learn everything about the great asset called Bitcoin and I urge for everyone view and assistance in actualising my quest for knowledge.

Well I've gone through the rules(the ones I could lay my hands on) and sometimes I get confused about some terms used here... although I'm still learning and never to quit.

Let's say I'm a Newbie or should I call it brand new member and I think I don't need to look farther cos all I've been longing to learn is here. Well I'm  a quite simple person, ready to learn, take corrections and abide by the rules guiding this great platform. I hope I'm in the right place to post this?
Thanks for this great opportunity!
Yeah you're welcomed to the community, I'm very excited to see your post like this, that means you have the pre knowledge of the noble community, my first post was not as quality as your post, and I believe with this strategies you will ranked up with immediate effect, that is to show that you  really have the community in mind, nevertheless the only thing that will be your hindrance is time, engagement in conservation like the way our senior colleagues do.

Like what most have mentioned already, anyone is welcome here in the bitcointalk forum! Remember that you should read the pinned posts in various threads before you post in order to avoid any conflict in the future.

Do not also forget that before anyone knew about the whole crypto space, everyone also started as a newbie you feel free to browse through the threads if you have any questions. Do not forget also to utilize the search bar located at the top-right corner if you have any queries as lots of basic/fundamental questions have been answered already.

I advise you to spend more time in the altcoin section reading about each project, reading about bounty and you also have to read the scam accusations to avoid being scammed, also spend time in the gambling section and read about the scam accusations to avoid being deceived. do not invest in anything just because someone told you that thing X is good, always try to do more research

First of all, welcome to bitcointalk. If you are truly interested in bitcoin, this is the place to be!

What I would suggest you to is to check pinned messages in Beginners & Help section to get yourself properly familiar with all bitcointalk rules ( pay attention to plagiarism which many newbies ignore, usually due complete ignorance). Don't rush and take your time to figure out how things work on forum, as it can be overwhelming for a complete beginner, especially if you don't have experience on other forums.

i am newbie to, thanks for advices, if you agree, i feel free to ask you for help if i will need it. also looking forward to invest in Bitcoin.  Smiley

The forum is not created to be a ATM for everyone. It is for discussions and idea exchanges, comprehensively.
It is about the introduction that the person knows about the forum. If he/she is introduced to bitcointalk forum that he/she can earn money this forum then he/she will think that the forum is ATM rather than a place where knowledge are shared through this forum. Later on, the forum is used to pay, earn and not the forum itself have to pay the participants but the signature campaign owner.

Hey Desmong,

Welcome to the BitCoinTalk forum,
I hope you will have a good time here and you will learn a lot of great crypto stuff,

As you are new here, so here's some quick words of wisdom:
1 - Read more, write less. - You are new and everything is pure knowledge, so make the best of it.
2 - With too much of knowledge - implementation becomes difficult. So, while you keep reading new stuff, make sure to only implement a few of those in your activities everyday.
3 - Make sure to spend a few hours of dedicated time here - everyday. If not more.

Will see you around the forums,
Cheers!

Reddit doesn't pay though so I guess the forum wins. Follow what @vintages says OP(Original Poster), better be dumb for a day to ask a question than being dumb your whole life for not asking the question. Stay on this board for awhile so you can gain enough knowledge before venturing the other boards.
The forum is not created to be a ATM for everyone. It is for discussions and idea exchanges, comprehensively.

There are times the forum does not have signature or bounties but it always the biggest forum for bitcoin discussions and others relate to cryptocurrency.
Welcome message
The purpose of the forum

This forum exists to provide a platform for the free (but ordered) exchange of ideas. If you have an idea to express, then it is probably possible to do it here as long as you follow the rules.

A lot of people come here primarily looking to make money. The forum administration is very happy that people are able to use the forum in order to better themselves; indeed, one of the reasons for Bitcoin's creation was to break the artificial barriers which prevent so many people around the world from attaining prosperity. However, if your attempts to make money conflict with the forum's primary goal of enabling discussion, then you are swimming upstream, and you will not be sucessful in the end.

If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.

There are some guides, such as Guide for forum search and Guide Searching effectively around. Both, within the thread, reference searching using the forum Search feature and using Google directly by delimiting the site with parameters.

I use both indistinctly here and there. Bear in mind that the forum's search engine, when provided with broad parameters to search (such as "bitcoin") will need to be delimited by message age in order to get recent responses (otherwise, it returns a 5 page window of old posts).

Note: You probable meant 90 seconds, not minutes:
Quote
You are searching too quickly. Wait 90 seconds. (There is a Google-based search engine on the search page that does not have this limit.)

That wait time gets reduced as you gain Activity over time.

Hands down, for now, there is no better forum or community for Bitcoiners like this platform, though reddit is also good.
As you use the forum more often, you will get use tk the many terminologies here. Also, feel to ask questions no matter how noob it may sound. We were all in this stage once.

thanks @obito. I think I'm gonna take it slowly and steady which could be the secret to the top. I also appreciate everyone who has given me a welcome advice towards my journey to greater success in this forum.

I've been trying to use the search botton but Still not getting it. Sometimes I get something like you have to wait for 90 minutes for another search and also I've not been getting what I want from the search engine. Is their a tread or topic which talks about how to use the search botton and any link to it?

I am very happy that your words remain true to a better purpose in this forum.

Of course we will have more to learn here about how you do that, and have started with a heart that I really am sure that in the future it will be one of the insights that you meet here, we cannot give full references but you will find the main point about a deeper knowledge I am sure will encourage you a lot to do better to continue to contribute to this forum.

In essence, the users of this forum are happy to have you and already know how the rules have been applied.

As it seems that you intend to use the forum well and your post is well worked, I have given you your first merit as a welcome.

Aside from what has been said by fellow members, I want to warn you of the downside. Do not copy, do not beg, especially merit, and don't cheat in general. It doesn't look like you're going to do it anyway, but I'd rather warn you because lately I've caught a couple cheating and then when they get caught they regret it and it's too late.
