The fluctuation you witnessed is just another phenomenon on crypto space of bitcoin. However there is a lot of reason for that and I'm sure you'll understand soon as you keep learn and learn about the market. Now being here in forum, you should follow rules and make yourself familiarize with it. Anyway, there are lots of users will help you along the way. As you browse the homepage of Bitcontalk, you will notice that each sub-forum has a short description about the direction in which discussions are supposed to flow there. Read those, and when you find something that interests you, go ahead and inspect that board with more attention.
Bitcointalk has a large sub of local language forums. You fill find those when you browse down towards the bottom of the page. If you speak another language, that's a great place to starts. You will learn about services and offers available in your geographical location. You might even make new friends and find cheaper places to buy/sell coins.

You don't have to ask if you are welcome in this forum if your goal in here is learning cryptocurrency. I also started in this forum same as you but I started with a bad habit of posting until I came to realize that this forum is not a way to earn money in a quick way or earn money as a main source of income which is not. Welcome to the bitcointalk forum and enjoy your progress in learning more.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. This is a forum to learn and help others by contributing quality posts. Just take time to check different boards, you will see many boards that will interest you, try to learn from there. This forum will be very helpful to know ways to avoid possible mistakes while using bitcoin and altcoins, it gives users useful information to follow on how to avoid possible scam and hacks.

What I would suggest you to is to check pinned messages in Beginners & Help section to get yourself properly familiar with all bitcointalk rules ( pay attention to plagiarism which many newbies ignore, usually due complete ignorance). Don't rush and take your time to figure out how things work on forum, as it can be overwhelming for a complete beginner, especially if you don't have experience on other forums.

This is my first post and I'm quite happy to be here. Although it took me quite a while to come across this great platform that focus more on Bitcoin. Bitcoin as the master of all crypto currencies had been my major interest when it's comes to learning about the crypto world. Sometimes I get surprise seeing how it's price flunctuate going up and down forming a higher high(HL) and higher low(HL) which keeps me amazed of what could be behind it volatile movement and the entire system. I'm ready to learn everything about the great asset called Bitcoin and I urge for everyone view and assistance in actualising my quest for knowledge.
