You can go for the top coins in coinmarketcap.com. But personally I have Nem and bitcoin. Nem is still pretty much undervalue at current price. You can also try bch now because it is pumping and there is still no sign that it will stop. Bch for short term only.

ZRX seems to be a good coin in the future, in this day it has added to the poloniex exchange site, and i can say the future will be bright such as golem. Because there is a lot of volume in there and remember to put some of your amount to zrx token.

Whatever you do, just don't sell it at a loss. Wait to sell it at a break-even price or aa little profit. Ups and downs are normal in crypto and you shouldn't sell at a loss unless you really really need money. Otherwise just wait and hodl.

WAVES is a long term investment. If the OP wants to have a short term trade with a good profit maybe he could jump in to dgb. dgb was oversold right now and can be pump to upto 100% in a span of 2 to 3 weeks.

I swear stellar and ripple is killing me. My friend tells me to hold on. Waves look great! I got some neo (not too much). You know whats funny no matter what coin you put in. It better than putting your money in the bank (well must of the time, haha)
There's just too many coins out there. They will certainly acquire value as months move by. It is far better than the meager interest the banks pay monthly to your savings.
Stellar and Ripple are going to go along with the Waves, huge and high waves.

I recommend to trade in bitcoins while the price still increasing. Considered the risk also. Just have set a rule when to buy and sell bitcoins. Just like trading in stock market.😁
Like others said diversification is the safe thing to do. If it was my money, I would invest 1/3 BTC, 1/3 ETH, 1/3 ZEN.
For the long term I recommend investing in bitcoin, etherum and litecoin, they have good prospects for the next 3 years.
As for the short term there are a lot of coins that can be invested but before choosing the coin get information about the coins to be invested and take your own decision by looking at the chart of the coin market price at that time, for me choose waves, dashcoin and ripple.

SHIFT, ARK, QRL, NEO, CIVIC, BLOCK are all great coins that will make you boatloads of cash.
I would not suggest waves. It's core team is a little irresponsible. Ethereum is already very high due to hundreds of ICOs. Neo could be a good one as it is just starting to take the momentum.
For long-term i would suggest to invest in WAVES, ARK and Binance.

It depends how large your bonus check is. If the amount isn't that great, use it on an ico and hope that the ico is a treasure. You might end up making 5-10x very quick. If you invest it in an already established coin or token and the amount is minimal, your gains won't be that great and theirs a possibility that you could lose money in the short term if you've purchased at a high price.
