So I basically got fomoed. Towards the end of 2017 I saw how high bitcoin skyrocketed and decided to invest in ripple as a test. Less than one week it went up 3x. This made me more ballsy and I put in 11k total in various other alt coins like ripple, ethos, tron, and cardano. After the crash I lost about half of my value just like that. I am frustrated with the experience and wish I would have just put in 1k or something. I wish I could just not invested and went into what I was doing earlier which was just investing the boring and traditional way. Should I wait and hodl or pull out and do something else?

You are the kind of investor that is coming in without thinking what he is investing that it could wipe out all your investment aty anytime and you must invest what you can afford to lose, only thinking about the profit, its better to sell all what you have to get out of this depressing sitution.

I think that calm will distinguish between the losers and the winners. Everyone is experiencing the same thing, and the coins you have are potential for the long term. So it looks like all you have to do is wait longer, at least until after the world cup, and let's see what happens.

Look ARROUND!
You can close losing positon or hodl. I wouldnt recommended averaging.
He had to invest in the coin for a really good reason, if he was just putting money into a coin to hold it then he should know of the consequences.

now the market looks very bad. prices for the entire currency fell sharply. no one knows how the market will develop in the next few months. the most popular forecast is a drop in the area of $ 5000 for 1 bitcoin. and the average drop should be about 20-30%.

Many people lost their capital. They hoped that the price of bitcoin would continue to grow and they would make a profit. But they were very wrong.
Correctly, no one has canceled, 10 percent of traders earn on trading, and the remaining 90 percent lose their money. Because it is impossible to follow the tastes of the market.

If you continue to hold your coins, then you have not lost anything. You will lose them when you start selling them at the current low cost. But in general we are still in the same position. we all look that our coins are lower in price. There's nothing to be done, we need to wait for better times.

First and foremost, I am sorry on what you have been through. I have felt the same way before, worse than you. I lost more than 70% of my entire portfolio's value due to the great Bitcoin crash and I "FOMO'd" too much instead of diversifying. I would have made a nice profit if I cashed out at least half of a specific token, but now I ended up cashing out an amount that is way, way, way less than the expected value. Just lessons learned. Cheers!
The option about what to do now is hard but i will always keep my spirit to fill this time and hopely better after this correction.
I have also the same thing happen to my portofolio but i still keep holding. I know many people suggest to sell but i deny it and stay strong although with worry.

It's very hard to see when your portfolio is decreasing every day. But until you start selling you still don't loose anything. Remember that after fall there always will be growth. So just be patient don't panic.

To be certain that you can not do this again, you must set aside your intuition and the hype of the coin price especially when the coin is at its highest price. It has a possibility that the coin will surely go down and you can lost a lot of amount invested. Better buy more coins when the coins touches to its lowest, like the best trade quote, "buy low and sell high".

I think you should keep enough patience to continue to hold them. If you don't lack funds, you shouldn't sell them. The market can't keep going down. If you wait for the market to pick up, they will bring you huge benefits.

It's not an easy situation, but I think a quick rise will be paid with great correction, sooner or later.
But you have a pretty good Altcoin composition, so it's only a matter of time until your portfolio grows again.

You do not have enough confidence, you will lose ypur money if you continuing to panic. It is better if you will just hold your coins even the cryptocurrency market is still down.

I been also lost 1/3 of my money in crypto but i still hold it, because my prediction bearish trend should be finish and turn to reversal in a few month. Patient is key to recover loss and make profit. Hold and patient is best thing to do now , and if we sell now in loss, we will be miss big opportunity to make profit when bullish trend come.

Well first of all. You cannot say you own that value. We All know the market is very volatile.
However all i could say, is HODL your Altcoins for a couple of months. Just wait and see what could market has to offer.
And Then Sell if your already Contented. And Best of luck though. Your gonna need it

Many strategies can be done in situations like this, and one of the safest is waiting. Not easy to do and possibly frustrating, but I think there are not many other better ways, because the market will always fluctuate, and the greatest opportunity to get capital back is to wait.

You need to delete your blockfolio and check back in 6 months. I promise you everything will be okay.
He does not have to delete his blockfolio he should just stay away from it because that information could be needed later on.

Since you've already notice that you are partially losing profit, surely it will be better to hold and wait in order to not completely lose profit. The market value is the thing which is falling not the amount of investment. So if you will be patient and once the msrket starts to rise, the loss will also recover and might be turned into profit. The market is just complicated at this moment but eventually, it might again increase.
