If it was phishing scam, it is important to remember never to click links in emails, but always open a new tab and go directly to the website in question. The only time I click a link in an email is when I have just signed up for some service and need to confirm my email address.

I never used MEW, and don't know the specs, but it is possible the OP had more than one private key in the wallet, but the thief was only able to drain one?  Could that explain why the thief didn't take everything?

It seem this is the only thread where fork related losses is happening. There are possibility of such things happening during fork on any coin, but this time on ethereum network, there are less of these complains. We should take simple precautions of transactions and stay safe.

I use Poloniex, and no, I have not seen any of my transactions that have not gone thru successfully.

As a general safeguard, I don't routinely keep a balance on any exchange, just what I am going to use, then transfer it to a wallet I control as soon as feasible.

Most likely, you fell victim to a phishing attack, maybe you went to  a fake MEW website.

I have Ethereum and ERC20 tokens in myetherwallet also but their weren't any issues with my balance from the fork besides the price decreases on them which has been hitting my tokens all week.   It would be wise of you to just move your remaining tokens to a new MEW address.  Bookmark MEW also.

My balances are good too since the fork. Please be very careful with links and bookmark them. Never rusk and never click on ad clicks in search engines.

I am so grateful I have never experienced the incident. I hope you can be patient and try to open a new page of your life. Crypto sometimes makes us a lot of thoughts.

Our wallet is safe in forking how it happened that you lost almost half of your ether in your wallet? I think it's not because of the fork you might have accidentally stolen it or if you left your wallet open, Or another is the phishing that usually happens

Right. Everything was fine and take note I am still making transactions on etherdelta with my MEW  when the fork was still happening and I've never lost an ETH. I was not aware that a fork was happening that day and I only knew it when I saw my transactions won't go through.

Thank you for saying you didn't know about Byzantium growing through then either because I also totally forgot and was trying to figure out whey I couldn't get anything to go thru, lol.  Gave myself an extra hard forehead smack when I realized what was happening.

Very sorry for the OP's loss, but I've not seen anyone else with suspicions that they lost due to the fork, and kind of stymied as to why only half would be missing.  I'm, though he seemed very thorough and certain, it was just a user error....something he missed maybe?

I went into this thread thinking OP lost like 200+ ETH or something, I come in and found out OP lost 0.1 ETH.

hackers maybe used some kind of programmed machine because every transaction has different addresses, by the way I only have small amount of eth, but 49k of erc20 token is stolen and sent to other address shit.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss!! I sincerely hope you were able to secure the remainder of your coins to another wallet!! Sounds weird that if you got hacked they would have left anything in there..

This is the first claim of theft I have seen since the hour the fork was concluded. Is possible that you might have miscalculated your ether in your wallet? Because if you were hacked as you claim, you are not likely to see any ether in that wallet.

Very sorry to hear that, but if it was a phising attack, why would the thief not steal everything? Did anyone esle experience something like that with MEW?

Wait is this even possible? I thought if you have your private key in your wallet during forks, you will not experience this type of problem?

I have seen several slack messages that look like they are coming from MyEtherWallet telling users to log in in preparation for the hard fork. However its confirmed these are phising scams. They steal your login info and then empty your wallet.
Be careful out there and sorry to Op for your loss

That's not good. It's super odd that someone only took half of it.

I just checked mine and it looks find. Nothing missing or added.
