It would not be unnatural for someone in the pizza delivery business to know about Bitcoin or to have know about it. The pizza story made headlines in most news papers for a while and even helped to spread awareness of how valuable Bitcoin has become and that you could buy goods and pay for services for it.

I have bought pizza with Bitcoin before, and it is fun to talk to these guys and gals.

Yeah the bitcoin pizza story was huge, ironically it was such a while ago and Bitcoin was worth so much less back when it happened.

Did he even believe it, its a pretty nice story and also a good thing, more people know the bitcoin nowadays, now we only need the people get using it.
Another thing is getting the bitcoin from his bad name because of the media that is saying bad things about it.

You should order a pizza from that place and have the same guy deliver it to your door then offer him a Bitcoin tip he couldn't refuse  Grin

good idea, and if i may i want to add that he should put the coins in a paper wallet since the pizza guy might not know what bitcoin is. and giving a paper to somebody is easier that saying here is bitcoin on your phone that you don't even see.

He was delivering to the neighbor and, while he waited for them to answer the doorbell, he asked me if I heard of this nifty little thing called Bitcoin. I couldn't resist telling him the Bitcoin pizza story and told him that I'd also used it to order pizza delivery before. But it's good to see that Bitcoin is starting to get out there more.

That's a nice place you live mate. Where I live I'm sure if you just ask people on the streets do they know anything about Bitcoin, 99,9% would answer "Never heard of it". But I hope things will change in the near future though.

I really need to move to the US for a variety of reasons Sad

Don't let that fool you. US is the last place you'd wanna be if you're gonna be in bitcoin for the long run. They've got lots of regulations there.

I feel Asian countries are the one which doesn't have much of regulations on bitcoin usage.
Few north American countries are also doesn't have much restrictions on using bitcoin in their business.

so the pizza guy asked YOU if you heard of bitcoin?

you sure it wasn't the other way around?

usually its the other way around.

Quite sure. He even looked geeky enough to have used Bitcoin once or twice in his life.

Maybe the person who he was to deliver the pizza bought these pizza through bitcoin.

there was an electronic store nearby selling raspberry pi and some arduino boards to which they printed btc logo BTC on their door but turned out they never really accept bitcoin when i asked them.
the logo though was from the previous owner of the place.

You know what will make a cool story? Imagine if someone tipped a pizza delivery guy, say 100 Bitcoins back then and at todays rate {$420} it would be valued at

roughly $ 42 000 ..... and even better, if this delivery guy forgot about that tip, and he just realized how much that was worth today, and he still kept it. So next time,

put some Satoshi's {+/- $5 worth} into some paper wallets and give it to pizza delivery guys. {Tell them about the pizza, and ask them to investigate} You might just

be the guy that makes history in the next 5 to 10 years, when that $5 tip grows to $5000 or $50 000.  Roll Eyes

Wow that is pretty cool actually.
Maybe he was hinting that he accepts tips in BTC
And like the others said it is indeed usually the other way around.
Slowly but surely BTC gets accepted by more and more people.
It helps that we have all these free BTC wallets for Android and Iphone now which are easy to use and understandable.

Where I live you can buy from convenience stores with bitcoins. Also providing that you know where to go you can have a beer or spend a night at a hotel for bitcoins, too Cheesy
It's not far from paradise. It's called Taiwan Cheesy

Smoking weed is highly prohibited though. Sometimes you can see Americans smoke hashish though, but they're always extremely careful with the cops. No kidding. It's Asia.
I have also told the pizza guy same story of bitcoins he laughed.
One day I went into a random pub and asked the owner with a smile if bitcoins were accepted in his establishment (I knew there were 99% chances that they wouldn't be but yeah you know, just kidding... and advertising for bitcoin, also Cheesy ). He smiled back and said "I wish". To which I replied "well it's up to you mate, if you want to accept bitcoins you just have to decide so", and then he walked away without saying anything.
I guess it meant that he didn't know what bitcoin was, or that he had heard about it and though it was just an internet scam and that he actually meant "you wish", but yeah, anyway  Grin
