If you really feel you've missed out on Bitcoin, and no one has, then it's equally unhelpful to put all your eggs into another basket that's pumped ridiculously as well.

At the start of the year ETH was $10. That feels a little bit like a missed boat too to anyone buying in now. There's still potential upside but it would take some paradigm shifts to really get dramatic returns.

Same goes for BTC of course, but there might be more possibilities of explosive developments, both good and bad.

Maybe put a little play money into the top ten coins at Bittrex or Poloniex. A few will fail miserably, others may more than compensate for that. Similarly put even less play money into stuff that's currently nowhere but has a little excitement behind it.

You slightly miss the boat for ethereum when the price go back for 0.07+ level back on these past days but maybe you can still earn with it if you would stake for this moment since the demand of ethereum still pretty cool and price of it most provably would pump so hard for these days around.

There is no harm taking a small punt on a number of coins: Ether, Bitcoincash, Doge, Monero, Dash.

Do your research and try not to pay too much. Have a set point where you start to cash out profits. Pretty soon you'll have made yourself some more bitcoin.

Bitcoin is currently $3300+......I can still buy a few.....to use it as a some sort 401K plan then since I have to think Long Term with it.  I see that Ethereum was endorsed by President Putin and seeing this video is making think to invest more in Bitcoin.  Buy a few Bitcoins like 3...then buy like 10 Ethereum coins for an added push.  Will Ethereum be as valuable as Bitcoin??

I am using Coinbase to buy my bitcoins.  Well I did in the past.  I had like 30 Bitcoins when it was $200.  Kicking myself bigtime.

Simple answer: NO!!
Eth is not meant to be money. It's more like fuel for smart contract execution. Furthermore it's attack surface is incredible huge and a completely governed blockchain which has on top of it many scam ICOs happening. This is the only reason why Eth can hold it's value. And should be mentioned as well that this coin is premined and almost 80% is in hands of minority of people, plus the chain has lost it's immutability and no fixed cap so far.
It also should be mentioned that there are more and more direct competitors are coming out who may give Ethereum a pretty hard time in the future.

I suggest don't buy all at one go instead plan to buy in three to four instalments and give few days or couple of weeks gap for next purchase then you may get a good average price for each coin. You missed to buy these coins are more reasonable price in last month and now already went up quite a lot, and prices may correct so buy in small quantities to get a good price.
