My simple and straight-forward suggestion to you is that only try to focus on making good posts. As long you're making good posts, merits will start coming to you. Some members who have established themselves and got a good reputation and trust in this forum may get more merits while others may get fewer merits but as long as someone keeps posting good information then the chance of having merits is always there.

So my suggestion to you is that you may make posts on daily basis and read other reputed members posts to learn valuable information. You may also learn valuable information from books and other credible online sources and then focus on making good and useful posts. You'll start getting many merits on monthly basis and then on weekly basis and maybe a day comes when you mat get many merits on daily basis. Best of luck!

Joining Bitcoin talk is one of the best thing that has ever happen in my life. It's like a school to me which enable me to be learning new things on daily basis and it has helped me to enhance my writing, reading and understanding skills and also meeting and learning from different resourceful intellectuals .
I have upto 40 activities and posts but the problem I'm having now as a new person in the system is how to get more merit. Please, I will appreciate your humble suggestion and guidance.

The way you managed to enhance your reading, writing, and understanding skills, try to improve your Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, alternative coins, blockchains, wallets, and every other important knowledge and resource available online or on this forum, and once you do that, try to learn about the forum, its rules and regulations, dos and don'ts, ways of posting such as how you can respond to a specific post, how you can add links, how you can bold fonts and everything else.

I'm pretty sure that once you go through all that and then start making contributions in different sections of this forum, you will see your Merits increasing automatically.

For me, my suggestion keep learning first about Bitcoin and then contribute on the forum and make constructive posts.
If you regularly post useful responses merits will eventually come from merit sources and we already have many similar threads about this so why not start by reading the list from this post below?

That’s probably most of the problem with newbies these days. They tend to be more giving value on how to get merits and earn eventually, when they should have focused more to acquire more knowledge and ideas in the forum which will mold them to become valuable and high quality posters in the making.

Merits won’t be easily earned unless your growth in the forum is not shown yet, and other members still fail to notice it. So what you are going to do is to keep learning more, and try to evaluate the posts of legendary and reputable members in the forum, I’m sure you will gain some strategies on how to easily gain merits if you try to imitate their strategies in posting, but not to the extent of plagiarizing because you will eventually get kick out in the forum before you will gain merits.

I know as a newbie you would like to see yourself grow like other higher ranked members you have been coming across in this forum, which merit is one of the major requirements to helping you grow here and which is as result of the value you have added to the community and not just something that they share for free, there's an effort attached to getting merits. Therefore since you are a beginner here in the platform, if you don't have much knowledge about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency to share, all you need do is learning, never be in fast to earn merit, merit will come, once you must have gathered enough knowledge it's now in your duty to start sharing those knowledges here, this way, people will see your contribution and encourage you with merit.

but the problem I'm having now as a new person in the system is how to get more merit.

Merit is given for useful, helpful information. This being said, as new user, if you are not knowledgeable in the topics you are visiting and you are learning now, it's absolutely natural that the merit eludes you. But merit should not be the purpose of being here, right? So keep learning and the day will come you will become really helpful. And then, with the right amount of activity, merit will be not an issue.

TL;DR: For now you need patience and more learning. Merit will come later.

Is there really a sure method to earn merits? For all I know, merits are rewarded to quality posts and contributions on the forum. Every One has to find a way that works for them to earn merit so long it's the right way. The reasons why most newbies finds it difficult to earn merits these days, is because they are no longer taking their time to learn how the forum works. I guess it's probably because of how they were informed of the forum(signature campaigns). And at that instant, the quickly register an account and start posting, forgetting that there are various ethics to consider here on the forum before you can earn merits and ranks up.
On checking through your post history, I noticed you post in boards that merits distribution aren't that much. You find boards that you will get noticed and more people gets to see your post. Merits will be rewarded when others finds interest in your post. For now. Don't over think it just keep learning and stop posting too much that's what most newbies are missing. Merits will come.
