I thought that we have a new millionaire this upcoming new year. But the lesson here is that if you needed those bitcoin's you've sold and the cash helped you on that particular moment of selling, there's nothing to regret.

It's just that there are bad times and you have no resort but to sell what you have in your assets. It really happens most of the time and that's why assets and investments are there. On your end, it's just that you've sold most and the bigger amounts.

looking at all these transactions really hurts me because I know the feeling of missing out on a great opportunity and this one was to make you to be a millionaire.

If only we can go back in time and buy a bag load of bitcoins and wait for the big one of 60000 dollars to come sell and buy again when the dip happens.
Nothing is assured in talks of future thats why missed out opportunities is very common thing and also we didnt even expect that we would really be reaching out this high and on that particular time in the past
then we are using our own coins for our own good.We might missed on saving it up on at least but we did really make use of that.

There's no point on making out regrets because it would really just make some those down feelings or anxiety just because you had missed it out but
its better to move on and proceed on things that you are engaging currently and dont commit the same mistakes
again.

everything that has happened, I don't think there is anything to regret anymore because I don't think it's useful enough for now and we only live on regrets and it's not a good thing to do.
on the other hand I think we have to turn over a new leaf because bitcoin is now something valuable and we have to focus on looking ahead and past experiences should be used as valuable lessons.
At least we can consider ourselves delayed millionaires because it was so easy to let go of bitcoin at that time Cheesy

We can't live with regrets, we have to move on no matter how bad things are. Sometimes things that have happened we don't need to keep
on remembering. Because sometimes to become millionaires, we have to go through some bad things first. I agree with you, we should focus
on the future instead of continuing to be stuck with regrets in the past. Moreover, Bitcoin continues to develop and increase in price, so we will be
left behind if we don't immediately rise from our regrets. I believe everyone who tries really hard, eventually becomes a millionaire it's just
a matter of time. We can all become millionaires as long as we don't give up and keep trying to achieve it, even though it may be a long process.

A lesson that I learned here is never sell
Don't blame yourself. If Bitcoin didn't have users such as you, it wouldn't have reached this price. Remember the pizza guy. I sometimes wonder what percentage of people have kept their pockets with bitcoin for so many years. It is not accidental that the majority of those did it unintentionally (with lost USBs etc.).

With all these HODL signs on social media, I'm sure the price won't behave same like it did in the past 5-8 years.

Or better yet, I'm pretty sure Satoshi didn't create Bitcoin as something that we'd revolve our entire lives upon.
They did mention of some sort of prophecy, though, which is kind of the same thing... Fuckin' legend.  Roll Eyes

No, please, do not think about it that way.
Imagine: there is never a good time to buy house, never a good time to change car, never a good time for holidays...
You did what for you was the best at the given moment. If you sold it, earn something, BTC paid your bills or bought you a new pair of shoes you needed - why to complain?

I feel the same as you OP, I also did this last few months checking my old bitcoin wallets hoping that there is a small fraction of satoshi left but I didn't see anything instead of the big transactions that I had before, it almost 5 bitcoin overall if I have going to save it until now I can even make my own house and have my own car.

However, I did not feel regret because at that time when I was in needed it helped me a lot. Regretting is normal but at that time your bitcoin satisfied your needs, that is fine. That is why if you have learned those mistakes, start saving again, maybe in the future if you are not going to rich maybe your children or grandchildren will surely do. It is not too late, still, there is a time.

It depends though. Did you sell the bitcoin because you just didn't see it's importance? Or maybe you actually needed the money for something important(hospital cost, student loans, etc)? Don't shame yourself if it actually was the latter, because contrary to popular belief, sometimes there are things much more important than BTC.

Yes, exactly, I mean if the reason of selling bitcoin (especially if most of all) is reasonable I think there's no reason to be shamed, blaming yourself for not able to hold it a quite long term and feel regret about it. I do have the same situation too where I have bag almost 1btc but during the bear season way back 2018 I sold them all. Now, if I look back to the number of bitcoin I have in my wallet that time I can also say I'm almost became a millionaire too, there's a regret but I have no choice than to move on and keep on grinding and wishing I could earn again same number of bitcoin that I have in the past.

Because maybe the OP forgot and didn't realize that Bitcoin would be important at this point. When he had access to recover it, then like it or not he could become a millionaire, commensurate with what he had endured all this time. We're talking Bitcoin today, maybe everyone would have done the same if they realized Bitcoin would be what it is today. Looking back at the amount the OP showed me with what I had back then maybe I was still bigger. The difference is I've lost what I should have realized earlier. Regret for sure, but what can be done if it has happened. So let it be a lesson and we continue what can be achieved in front of our eyes.

There are really things in life which you would really need to prioritize rather than on having lots of money.Whats the purpose of money if you are on a very hard condition like
on hospitalization or in calls of emergency or something that you do need to survive on daily living?

Dont regret as long those coins had not been wasted or really been put up on good use.Yeah, we might be thinking that we might be millionaire at the moment
if we havent sell those coins but think off that you wont really be on the situation you are now if you hadnt done those things
in the past.

A lesson that I learned here is never sell

One problem is that you seem to have sold in the 2014-2015 crypto winter. So you seem to have lost faith in Bitcoin. That's a mistake.

So the problem is not that you sold. The problem is that you sold cheap you probably didn't buy back. You should have sold a bit earlier, maybe summer of 2014 and in the summer of 2015, when people were losing hope, you could have bought back. That would have been a great business.

Also, one golden rule is that if you don't plan to ever buy back, then you better sell only (small) parts of your stash.

However, past is past. The only useful thing to do is learn from it. If you regained the trust in Bitcoin, you can consider buying again (but please decide for yourself whether you do or not, don't do it because of my words). If not you, maybe your kids get the chance to be millionaires.

A lot of us early buyers have this scenario ...because none of us knew what the Bitcoin price would be in the future. The money that we did get from the bitcoins we sold back then, made a difference in our lives.

We should not look back and regret our decisions, because it could have turned out a lot worst. Let's say the Bitcoin price goes down to ZERO now.. and you held on to those coins... would you not regret selling it more then?

You can at least say that you got a very good return on your initial investment and that you had the opportunity to do that.  Wink

I used to feel the same thing. Spent 7+ bitcoins on Steam games and other petty purchases, and as I remember those times that I am mindlessly spending bitcoins, it I have no other choice but to accept it and just move on. Perhaps, main characters really need something that they will regret heavily for character development Cheesy But anyways, I can still brag that I used to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on digital games, and just show them my wallet and transaction history.

I once bought a Carolina Reaper hot sauce mix from a seller on Reddit that is based in California, and it's worth $25 per bottle. Bought 2 of those and paid for shipping, and costed me around 0.3 bitcoins in 2015. Today, that 0.3 bitcoins is worth $15k+, and I would have been $15k richer, but that damn hot sauce is still good.

It is a pity to see my own old wallets. There is a little comfort here that you have spent your coins. But I have lost the private key of some of my wallets, when I see those wallets & unspent BTC then I can't find any tongue to give consolation myself. In any case, it is better to get rid of the old and walk in a new way. If you hold BTC now, it may be worth it after 5 years, so it is better to delete the old memory and start hodling in a new way.

I will also feel sorry for not buying bitcoin in 2010 when it was almost zero usd in price. Also I feel sorry that I sold my bitcoin at 15k and 30k, the list of sorry will keep going. Why regret on something we have no control of? If we what lies ahead we all will be millionaire.

There is no reason to be feel bad about it, it is not like as if bitcoin is not going to give profits anymore since it will, the profits are simply not going to be as big as they were back then but you can still get some.

After all the number of people that are invested in this market is still very low, so while you will not be an early adopter you will still be part of the early stages in the life of bitcoin so you can still obtain good benefits with it, but this is only true as long as you can hold to whatever bitcoin you can get right now.

Everyone will be very sorry if reminiscing about the past, but they will all consider it a learning experience because whatever it is we never know what will happen in the future.
and we still have a chance to become millionaires by going back in time, I mean repeating the past by starting from now and if we believe it will repeat itself why not repeat it and wait 10 years.
but it is not that easy because doubts, emotions and trials will always be there and will definitely execute them if there is an opportunity and profit, and the most important thing for me is to make sales in a state of good profit.

You didn't know that bitcoin would go this far, it's not good torturing yourself over what's already been done. Also, it's not too late to be a millionaire, bitcoin still has a long way to go so you can still get in and hodl for a really long time and wait for to grow exponentially over the years.

Yes I agree with this, but it's important not to set unrealistic expectations. For someone to become a millionaire from bitcoin at this very point (assuming the price will always go up) it would take a considerable amount of capital for them to start off with. You will find most won't find it feasible.

Having BTC back in the day isn't something credential but holding it is. Didn't you see one of the most popular threads here- I AM HOLDING? It's not easy to hold BTC this long. Sometimes because of the red candles while sometimes the controlness. It's not easy to hold from $10 to all the till $1000.
