It would be good if you share an update telling on how much of the suggested links and advices you have gone through. It is important to share information,  converse, and ask questions here so you do not make any mistakes. For instance asking on what wallet to use or what platform to buy Bitcoin from, You’ll get all that info here but you need to be active to show you’re actually serious.

I was introduced to bitcointalk and I don't know much about cryptocurrencies; please advise me on what I should do to learn more about bitcoin. Please send me a link that will walk me through the process so that I don't run into any complications when I start my investment.
I suggest you start exploring whatever is on this forum, you can start reading from anywhere. If there is a term you don't know, Google can answer it very quickly, if you need details you can ask in this forum by posting, make sure you search first for the information you are looking for whether someone has started a discussion or not (most of them already exist). As for the link, after I saw it above, many people have provided it. I hope you feel at home here. good luck.

If I can advise you, please find out or look for someone who is senior and understands Bitcoin investment or how to use a wallet/exchange that you can register and buy Bitcoin for you to buy and invest, You cannot rely on the links here, all the information you get here about Bitcoin is nothing but theory, the real practice lies with your friends who know how Bitcoin works in the real world.

I see a lot of those beginners who play with Bitcoin, wallets, exchanges and so on, end up in losses, because they don't want to ask for help from those who know in the real world, that's why I say you have to get to know those who really understand Bitcoin, for you to start investing in Bitcoin.

Most beginners who come to the forum for the first time tend to write and do not want to read the messages that were published earlier. Grab some popcorn and start reading all the pinned topics that are in the "Beginners & Help" section.

When you read pin posts, you will get a lot of information that will help you learn about Bitcoin. You may face some difficulties while reading forum threads related to cryptocurrency if you are a beginner. So I will advise you to do some research through YouTube and Google in your native language. So it will give you some basic knowledge about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Then focus on the forum and start engaging discussions. That's how you can learn and grow your cryptocurrency knowledge day by day.

That is the right directives, I think this guidelines is enough to show newbies way to Excell in this board and anything related to Bitcoin and crypto currency. At first one must put study to acquire the right knowledge because with knowledge one can't make it right in the board. Allot is already in the board to truly guide any who needed help to Excell in the forum.

Three easy steps that after doing youll be able to cope with bitcoin and possible cryptocurrency knowledge.

1. Download Bitcoin whitepaper read it until you grasp ideas on how it works.

2. Once you are done reading. Go here in forum and interact with users all your questions can be answer by lots of OGs. Including how and why something like that.

3. Extend to other crypto only when you already understand how bitcoin works and the blockchain.

Everything will follow through after that happy learning.
These three stages are the three stages that must be passed if Op is lazy to learn and find out more, besides that if you want to be more effective and efficient in learning bitcoin by interacting with other people on the forum, maybe watching videos on social media about bitcoin will speed up learning to know bitcoin.

If the focus is to know about the technology first discussion is indeed the most appropriate thing, but if the focus is investment then knowing bitcoin in a basic way and understanding how to transact buying, selling and storing bitcoin safely is the shortest step that OP can take, there is a need to learn a lot of fundamentals or technical analysis at the beginning because it will come by itself if the focus is trading, but if for long-term investment buy simpa and mengeanl 4-year bitcoin cycle is enough in my opinion.

My advice, in investing in bitcoin is strong mentally and don't expect to get rich quickly, because market fluctuations are quite terrible can affect investment in bitcoin for beginners.

~snip~

The OP has been a member of the forum since November 2023, and since then he has written only 3 posts, and if he has not understood some things by now, it will not help him even if you once again present him with the links that others have already posted in their posts.

To me, this seems like just another in a series of alt accounts trying to catch merits. In addition, it seems that the most common occupation in Nigeria is graphic designer Roll Eyes (those who follow the forum a little better will understand the context in which I am speaking)

So, let me get this straight. You say you dont know much about cryptocurrencies... But it seems contradictory that your first post on the Bitcointalk forum, despite your limited knowledge, encouraged others to invest in crypto.

Aren't you familiar with their strategies? This is not longer a new method for newbies to gain community empathy and probably earn some few merits. It use to work before but it has cast now. We can not longer differentiate between genuine newbies seeking for community help and the ones trying to cook fake stories for some benefits.

I was introduced to bitcointalk and I don't know much about cryptocurrencies; please advise me on what I should do to learn more about bitcoin. Please send me a link that will walk me through the process so that I don't run into any complications when I start my investment.

I don't know if you truly need some guide or you want to gain something from this post. It's obvious, the latter is the case judging from your previous posts as spotted by stalker. Whatever the case maybe, the person that introduced you to Bitcointalk is in the perfect position to put you through and besides, here is not an investment platform where buy are advice on what to invest in but rather, a bitcoin discussion forum. Regardless, you are in the right place only if you can keep it real to learn.

You're in the right section of the forum; everyone starts by reading. Begin by opening the sticky threads to familiarize yourself with the forum rules, and so that if you decide to reply to threads, you'll know the do's and don'ts. I know you'll gain a lot of knowledge not only about investments from the existing informative topics here but also from discussions, guides, and insights shared by experienced members. If there's anything you find confusing or unclear, feel free to ask, and surely, many will help you here. Just read and explore for now; maybe consider investing once you understand the basics and concepts, and be aware of the risks involved, not just the benefits. The crypto space is complex, so take your time to learn and ask questions. Be cautious of potential scams that may be offered to you.

He's in the right section for beginners who wants to learn, so let him go through the pinned threads and then start to read through topics in the forum, and gradually he'll begin to increase his Bitcoin knowledge and if he doesn't understand any areas of discussions, then he can ask questions in the thread. Best way for him to learn fast is to research any specific area that he needs help, maybe start a topic that is focused on that area, then experienced members will help him to understand the specific areas that he needs help. This is a Bitcoin discussion forum and I believe that someone who needs help here should atleast have some ideas of where he's needing the help, this is why it's important for newbies to carry out research to an extent before coming to ask questions in the forum. So let him research about Bitcoin investment, where he doesn't understand, then he can come and ask questions.

If you are new to cryptocurrency and Bitcointalk as well, I have a few words for you. Set a goal first. Make sure what you want to learn. Do you want to focus on Bitcointalk activity (which may help you to rank up faster and understand the forum), or do you want to learn more about cryptocurrency only? If you are new, do not rush into investment. You have to learn a few basic things about crypto. Almost all the crypto currencies are volatile and investment in some projects could be a loss.

Even if you invest in a good project like Bitcoin at the wrong time and cannot wait until it regains the price, you may face financial damage. You need a lot of patience which is the first thing you need if you want to invest. You have to learn a few security things like using 2FA and picking the right wallet to keep your holdings. Spend more time researching. Do not rely on others information. Do your own research.

What I observed this days is that people are just to lazy to make research on their own. They prefer a well made job instead of going on research themselves and this has not being helpful in the space. I don't think the person that invited OP is only joining bounty campaigns because if that is what he/she does, he will only tell OP that money can be make on the forum even without investing anything. But I think OP is ready to invest, just that he was only asking for directives so that he won't be sucked up at a point.
That's what I noticed for quite some time where people are just too lazy to make research about crypto and if you ask me, it is really important to make a research because it will be helpful once a person is going to invest or own a crypto and one of it is the security which determines how safe is your crypto where s person is storing it. Well, there's nothing wrong when you are providing a link to some people but it will only make those people dependable on someone because they can get information from someone without doing much effort unlike making a research yourself.

Why the rush mate? I mean if you’re here to invest so you can make quick profits, well I have to be honest with you, the more you become greedy, the more you will lose from your investment. Give enough time to learn and gain new insights in the forum. Explore the different boards in the forum and study patiently. If you work like that, you will learn a lot of new things that will increase your knowledge about bitcoin and the crypto market. And once you’re capable enough to invest, then take the risk and invest with an amount that you can afford to lose.

several links has been dropped for you to educate yourself... It's just enough to know how to begin. Firstly For me, I'd say all you need now would be understanding the Term "Bitcoin" and every other basic "terms of operation" which would entail; how Bitcoin works, how the Bitcoin ecosystem gets overall circulation, how you could possibly manipulate your way in and out, how you'd begin to learn about the technical part of Bitcoin etc...

when I see newbies make post like this, I tend not to take it upon myself to explain the little I know..why? I got to realize that most newbies would make this overemphasized post just to chase clout... Some would disappear right about the time the post was made, till whenever...

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Such post is so common this days in the forum. I wonder why newbie can't make use of the search box before making such post often and often. The funniest thing is that most people making such post are not really making it to learn. Most just vanish immediately after the post has been made.
You said, newbie. If you google it says "an inexperienced newcomer to a particular activity.". How can someone who's inexperienced about the forum and Bitcoin know the functionality of the forum search box?
I believe those that varnish can't bear the reading, learning to understand the forum, what Bitcoin involves, and the harsh reply of some high-ranked members of this forum.

Exactly what he should have asked before joining the forum so that he will understand what the forum is for, but I believe the person who introduced him just told him he can make a lot of money here when he join, that is why he didn't border to make his on research and just create topic, I believe most members have given him some link to follow in previous discussions, I believe if he follows them he will get knowledge about Bitcoin and start investing. And one thing you should know is that you should not hurry into investing instead, attempt to understand how the market works and how to begin your investment adventure, because some newbies enter the market without knowing anything about it. If they only tell them that if they invest in bitcoin they would profitable, they will invest all of their money in it without knowing the negative side of it, since you can never invest in anything and expect to earn anytime one they the market won't go well and you may likely lose funds.

It is nice you are here OP. You will definitely get the assistance you need to learn more about crypto currency and this platform. Already I have seen links to educative materials presented here by members for you to peruse. Those links would be of good importance to you only of you take your time to go through them, study and learn so you could be familiar with the system and how it works.

Since you have stated investment here and you are a newbie as well, I believe you really are not familiar with the space and how it works so I  will advise you to mind links you click here likewise links sent to you via PM because scammers would want to take advantage of your ignorance to keep track of your activities by sending you malware's through links which you might have no idea about. It will just be on your gadget waiting for when you will start investing and they steal away your coin. Mind links you click likewise in your inbox as well.

I was introduced to bitcointalk and I don't know much about cryptocurrencies; please advise me on what I should do to learn more about bitcoin. Please send me a link that will walk me through the process so that I don't run into any complications when I start my investment.

So, let me get this straight. You say you dont know much about cryptocurrencies... But it seems contradictory that your first post on the Bitcointalk forum, despite your limited knowledge, encouraged others to invest in crypto.

Crypto investment is preferred. Is a the best way to get profit as long as you make long-term investments. I believe real estate investments are not as rewarding as crypto investments.

Can you elaborate on that? Are you really a newbie, or are you just pretending to get some sympathy from the community?

Welcome to the forum. In the wrong platform, questions like this often lead to scammers contacting you. Luckily you’re in a place where scammers aren’t prevalent. If you made this post in a telegram group you would have been bombarded with dms by now. Bitcoin investment isn’t rocket science. The best strategy for a beginner is to buy and hodl.

When you read pin posts, you will get a lot of information that will help you learn about Bitcoin. You may face some difficulties while reading forum threads related to cryptocurrency if you are a beginner. Then focus on the forum and start engaging discussions. That's how you can learn and grow your cryptocurrency knowledge day by day.

@OP, welcome to the forum. You're already on the section where various pinned post/threads are there for your reference. While many members have given you good links and provided you as a resource for your reading. I'd advise you to be careful about asking some links, not everyone here is controllable and some bad actors can just directly send you a message and leave a malicious link on your inbox and you as a newbie might click it. I just want to remind you to check the links before clicking them and enjoy learning more about Bitcoin.

Op calm down and don't rush. Take your time to read threads, articles and comments and please don't click anyhow links you see here and outside here. Because not all link you will see are good to click. There are some that will redirect you to a website which might not be a good one for you. Though links that come from Bitcointalk is always legit. And if it is not genuine, people will question the poster of the link but even as that be careful. And what you did is very good for asking this question to learn more and this is what you will be doing whenever you want to know something. Read and learn.

It's not hard how to gain knowledge about cryptocurrency. There are many websites that you can learn from and this forum is one of it. Start from reading different threads here and try using search feature if you are looking for a certain topic that you wanted to read. That's what I've been doing for years until I reach this current rank of mine. One more thing, you shouldn't focus on earning merits because if you only plan to contribute in this forum then many forum members will sent you a merit especially if your posts is high quality or constructive posts that deserves merits. Good luck mate.

Welcome to the forum, the first thing will advice you to do is to personally surf the forum yourself as no amount of information given here can be adequate for your learning. The forum has its search engine which you can use to search for past threads or posts, you can learn how to use it by following the guide on this thread or you can use the google search and then add the tag Bitcointalk.org to the search.

For bitcoin related questions I would advice you read learnmeabitcoin.com it is one of the best websites that explains bitcoin and it’s stuffs to a total beginner. You can ask questions where you are stuck.

You were introduced to this forum by whom? You should understand that this forum isn't like the Crypto Twitter with people telling coins to buy or sell just to make profits.
It's much more than that. People here are more sensible and not mentally upset like some of your stupid influencers on social media.
The best you can learn here is how Bitcoin community reacts to certain events. Good Luck!

Do you want to be taken by the hand and led along the yellow brick path straight to the untold riches of investing in bitcoin? It doesn't happen that way, my friend. Finding the magic link will take 99% of your investment time, while the process itself will only take 1%. Most of the work will consist of finding the necessary information. Fortunately, this is all available on this forum. All you have to do is correctly formulate what you want and begin the learning process, after the necessary searches.

Don't delegate your work to others.

Free advice: Don't neglect search.

Wise words. A bit discouraging, but true in most cases.

The worst part would be that Newbies have the search feature capped by default for security reasons, which makes the learning curve at the beginning even more shallow for them. But we all here were able to make it, so I don't see any impediment for others to do the same now. It doesn't seem to be too late to start, but the perfect timing for those who didn't do it before, but patience is much needed.

I'm a bit surprised that you've been introduced to Bitcointalk and you still have to ask questions about how to learn about cryptocurrencies. I understand the desire to dive right into investing, but if you're serious about it, you need to do your own research and educate yourself about the technology first. There are plenty of resources available online, the Bitcointalk forum itself contains years of accumulated knowledge from veterans willing to guide newcomers.  Even basic internet searches turn up quality information on blockchain and Bitcoin.  Don't be lazy and rely on others to do your work for you. If you're not willing to put in the effort to learn, you shouldn't be investing in it in the first place.

I'm sorry if you find this a bit harsh, but I get the impression that you want everything served on a platter. There is no easy way to learn new things, you just have to take the plunge and start learning. Just like you learn other things in life. If you have specific questions or need help understanding something, don't hesitate to ask.

It's hard to quickly find a trustworthy resource when you're first getting started. That's why we started writing some useful guides for beginners. Hopefully this isn't an infringement of the Bitcointalk rules. But here's a link to some of our guides, I hope you find them useful: https://www.coinpunkz.com/beginners-cryptocurrency-guides
You're allowed to promote your site, but discredit other resource and make your site looks good isn't good, especially when it's complete bullshit.

Decentralized vs. Centralized Exchanges: Cryptocurrency exchanges can be broadly categorized into decentralized and centralized platforms. Decentralized exchanges offer anonymity, often not requiring any personal details for trading. This makes them an ideal choice for certain individuals, including refugees or those in countries with limited banking or credit infrastructures. These platforms offer a pathway into the mainstream economy without the need for traditional financial intermediaries.

Popular Exchanges in the US: Centralized exchanges, especially prevalent in the US, abide by regulations and require users to provide identity verification. Some of the notable names in this category include Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, and Binance (https'://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=NUFYZLWI). These platforms not only offer Bitcoin but also a diverse range of alternative cryptocurrencies (altcoins). If you're looking for a structured, compliant, and comprehensive trading experience, these exchanges should be on your radar.

You discuss about the decentralized exchanges, but you didn't mention which is the exchange, how can someone able to use it? add bisq.network.

Then you suggest US citizens to use Binance, when official Binance site isn't accept US citizens! they have their own dedicated site for US which is binance.us

You certainly don't want to just be spoon-fed to get the information you want. If you are interested in investing in Bitcoin, then you can start looking for information on forums related to Bitcoin and its technology. so do exchanges and wallets.
it might seem random and a lot of information if you search for individual threads. but there is a search menu there that you can use.
there is a lot of information available, which may not be what you think it would be like reading a book. find and read the information you need.

There is a huge amount of information on the forum for learning. Look, read, study. If you don't understand something, ask, you will always get help. And you do not want to do anything, lie on the couch and that you brought everything on a platter. No one will give you a button to make money. Show some diligence.

What exactly is your main purpose why are you here?
If it's all about investment we are not financial advisers better seek for professional financial adviser about investment because investing money in crypto is risky if you don't have much knowledge about them.

However, if this is all about Bitcoin then better read the Bitcoin history to learn about Bitcoin before you invest check this "History of Bitcoin"
And learn more about the Blockchain here "Awesome Blockchain"

Also don't forget to read the forum rules below

Newbies - Read before posting.

Why you don't read it and another sticky thread that is about Bitcoin?

I wonder, will repeated spam from beginners, without reading anything, cause a return of newbie jail I knew theymos said he will not bring newbie jails back?
Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections.
