The idea of hoarding Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, waiting to sell at later times for higher returns is the reason Crypto is slow to be adopted in mainstream transactions. Anyone who gets it try to hold on to it, as long as possible, thereby depriving the market the needed circulation to keep these currencies viable and acceptable.

This is dumb. Even if cryptocurrencies don't exist, you don't spend  all your cash. You put your cash to work either as an investment or in a bank with high interest and then you set aside cash for expenses.

You should spend cryptocurrencies as well as hodl a portion.

If you need money then nothing you can do besides sold your bitcoin although after you sell it the price jumped 3x than the previous rates but make this as your valuable experience that patience is necessary to get good price to sold your bitcoin and for the next if you have another bitcoin from your bussiness deal then you have to wait until the price good to sold it

You are not the first or last that this happened. But that was your decision at that moment based on your estimation and probably you couldn't have know that the price will rise so much. Every now and then we all make wrong decisions and estimations but the most important is how we deal with consequences and are we able to recover and move on.

Trying to make the world better for everyone.
I agree that you were in need of money etc. But ok, you knew that BTC price will rise soon enough, then why have you sold all BTC you had? You could have sold 0.5 or 1BTC. This is called diversification of risks.

You are not alone of this very ironic experience and many of us did missed this kind of opportunities but this is normal as Bitcoin investment is really unpredictable that is why it was considered risky. Anyway, missing to sell it high at the highest value is not the end of everything so stop thinking too much now and move on as there are still lot of opportunity like this one in the future.

Man I have sold my 0.1 BTC when the price was wayy too low , it was even lower than 3k $ , unfortunately my mobile phone broke and I actually had to get a new one and I was too shy to ask someone about the money , therefore instead of waiting I sold at a lower rate , it's just investments and even if you would have to ask people for money even when you have it gets preety ... Sad ...thus I think it's fine only .
Don't regret decisions you made when you needed money or were scared that it might crash ... It happens.

Thank you guys for the thoughtful comments. I don't regret selling the Bitcoin and will never regret even in future. They are still more to be made and spent.

It really solved my problems at that point in time and I was so happy I sold.

You did the very right thing. Money is only money if it's able to solve the immediately problem at hand. Currently I sell off most of coins to keep and sustain my new family until my offline business gets a new boast. I held some coins this year, I choose not to sell but needed the money, today they have well dumped. Money not used  when needed for a life  changing challenges might end up causing  a problem for its owner.

Real adoption would be that you get your salary in crypto, and that you can pay almost anything with crypto. This type of adoption is not real adoption, but Bitcoin is only 10 years old, it can not change the way money works in such a short time.
Correct! This is the real adoption and Bitcoin was created having this in mind. We can not achieve it if we can not change this mind set and the culture of HODL YOUR COIN.

We need to find a solution which will need less tx fee and faster tx time. LN is offering it but it's still not widely used yet. I hope some day majority of the merchants will be useing Bitcoin as their accepted payment method and companies will offer their employees to take salary in Bitcoin. I also hope that we will start developing this culture that it's more profitable spending Bitcoin instead of holding.

Oh man, You still are good, Some of us sold under 1K!!! But never mind, there is still time and space to grow.

Right now I have put it all on into some crazy ALT...Double or nothing. I nearly lost it all, now is gonna be time to shine Cheesy

Buy BITCOIN and HOLD for life !

Most members of this forum who were here when Bitcoin was below 1k sold some. I remember buying some at that price and selling when it went up by 100 dollars because 10% was a big profit for me. That's how I saw things back in the day. Bitcoin was for making money on trading and that's it.

We grow up to become holders. It takes time Wink

Your decision is correct, because people made money or technology, money can't make people. So, anybody needs in his bad time, no matter what price the BTC is! I also sell my BTC (3200$) and ETH (under 100$) in lowest price. One the otherhand, a man who is sick and weak, and wait for bump, the price of BTC and finaly, he is dead, that is an incorrect decision. If you have no problem to hold btc, then wait, because keeping patience is a always noble virtue for profit.

I've been in that situation multiple times selling Bitcoin on current price then after several months the price grows. I remember selling at least 0.5 or more during 2016 and was surprised on how quick it rose throughout 2017.  There's a little bit of regret whenever I sell my bitcoins because there's always a time in the future where you'll look back to it and say you could've had more if you held it longer.

There's no need to feel guilt here OP, you just made the right decision. Always remember that money may come and go but family is different so just don't worry you will be able to gain that Bitcoin again in the future if you really want to. There are much worse than yours OP if you change your perspective and putting your shoe on someone who had lost more than what you've lost.

Have you ever sold your BTC at low rate and it later bumped and you were regretting...?
This is always I MEAN ALWAYS the outcome for me. I really really hated this when this happens. I am a person that is quite enjoying a 3-5% gain in trading for I came from stocks trading. But I really don't like myself when that phenomena occurs. It's like cryptocurrency is not for me. This is why I'm more engaged in gambling in cryptocurrency not trading.

Well if your were in dire need of the money, I believe that it was the right thing to do but was it necessary to to sell your entire stock of Bitcoins. Anyways with Bitcoins, you can buy again and wait for the next bull run because I assure you that there will be one very soon.

Have you ever sold your BTC at low rate and it later bumped and you were regretting...?
Yes but before stepping into that question. I admire you as a provider to your family, you just did the right thing. Even if I'm on your shoe I wouldn't care about the price since I sell whenever I want although I'm long on bitcoin.

I've sold many times on $3k and also under $1k so it doesn't matter as long as you've made profit with that and just don't look with that move since it's already done.

It was a good decision you made buddy. You needed it for your personal stuff so don't feel sorry for yourself. So far as you're still in the game, there are other opportunities for you to earn.

Impressive and I just could not help to send you 5 merits out of 6 sMerits I had.

What is so Impressive in that OP statement? Bitcoin is not only currency, and it will never be just that, from DAY 1 it is also store of value. Most of people use it just as store of value, some for short-term trading, and one small percentage for payments. Market is have circulation in daily trading, and ordinary people cannot be guilty for the reason that they have nowhere to spend their Bitcoins.

Only way I see people can affect the merchants to accept BTC is to ask them to start accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, but so far they have good reasons to say no. This situation will maybe change in future when LN is become something usual and easy to use.

Since OP is did not respond to my post and answer on some logical questions, I consider this thread as nice (and working) attempt to collect easy merits.

You are really something else bro. You assume a lot and it's not normal. I need some Merit to rank up, there's nothing wrong if you give me some Merit, but that is not the reason I wrote this post.

Anyways, I have answered all your questions, you can go back and read them up.

Family is everything and there is no comparison even for the best diamonds in the world though, you do something right when the family needs you, I also sell under $3k if at that time my family needs it
