Also he should have kept an alternate as its a huge amount else he could have stored as small portions. The mistake is upon the user.

Did OP write his keys in a slip of paper and secure it in a air tight bag? There's a discussion that usb storage has to be powered sporadically else data will be lost.

I do not believe in the story but if it is true, good luck to OP. I hope he will still recover his bitcoin after 20 years and the usb are not working anymore because of corrosion. And i hope it make it thru the hard times ahead being broke and find some money to survive all the years ahead.

I fully agree with this, the fact is that he just has to wait till the price increases and sell it for more.

Don't worry, I gave all my USD to a major financial institution that may as well have no physical address and that is just as likely as or more likely than your bitcoins to be underground in 20-30 years, just when I need the money. Just like your bitcoins.

Hmmm i think you made a right decision.But it depends on hoe much you bought that 5 bitcoins you burried.If you bought it around 200$-300$ then you have done a right decision to buried it for years and get it when its price rockets up so you will have profit on thing you done.But keeping it for 20 years and farther maybe thats the wrong decision,because we dont knoe if bitcoin price will drop,or bitcoin will disappear.

yes currently the price is not at a good value but in the coming future you will see that the price of bitcoin will boost up and will double up our money, while at this time we know is the time of buying as the price is lower enough to buy some good amount of bitcoin.

yeah agree with you. bitcoin prices will not stop in one time. bitcoin prices will continue to move. so you do not worry there will be time bitcoin prices more than the price you purchased at that time. you have to do is be patient

Very agree with that maybe op just need to wait and monitor for this halving event surely they can earn big profit with it, and really hes broke for just staking his savings in bitcoin, bad news their is when he is saving it without halving well i can say your risking your future for nothing there, since by then halving us coming i can say your not brook since you can sell when halving effect occurs, but really make sure you are present and active when halving events occur because chances may fall down if price is so high and many people will sale their saved bitcoin.
