People on this forum are way to obsessed about merit if you ask me. Still not sure what merit even is, and at this point I really don't care anymore. Does it get me preferential treatment with the admins?
I don't know what's hard about that. It's like with money, if you got plenty of it, you take it for granted a little bit and start understanding that it doesn't solve all your problems in life (doesn't even solve half of them most of the time), but when you are poor, you always think that when you'll get that "x" amount of money (merit in this case), you'll become a much happier person.

And mostly when you're poor (money, merit, whatever) you just don't do enough in your life to change that.
These are much better suggestions....that no one except higher-ranked members will ever follow.  Noobs who came here to spam for bounties?  Merit and ranking up are all they care about.  #5 here has been stated repeatedly since January, and it's consistently ignored.
I'm still waiting for the day that these shitposters give up and go away.  It's a fantasy, I realize, but I'm trying to remain optimistic.
I guess, I am one of those "shitty posters" you would like to get rid of, and I don't really understand the hate for bounty hunters. How are they harming you? There are a lot of people in need of money and I think it's better that they at least do something to earn some. I am not really experinced in this and don't know how much money can one make with bounties, but what is the harm in trying? Yeah, in ideal world, I would prefer to earn a lot right now, cause I am ambitious person, but I am realist don't really have anything useful to contribute on this forum so far, why can't I start with bounties while learning and one day maybe I'll be good enough to forget about those.
Everyone WAS a newbie once. Why is this excuse? If you think you can do something then just DO! No one cares about anything relates to you unless you prove yourself an important one for them. Try working with your personal development.
While I think that new rules are very useful for forum, and people with knowledge will still get thir rank up, it's undeniable that a lot of people were just lucky to register here before new system and earn their ranks without real contribution, I believe that's what he is referring to.

When merit was introduced, there were some ways to get merits :

1) Talk good about merits.

2) Ridicule those opposing merit system

3) Make a list of merit abusers

4) Start a thread giving away merits

With time members realized that the intention of these in most cases was to get merits only.

Can I integrate my answers into one big message?
Obviously. Just write them in one post. And if you have anything new to add, edit your last post.

Merits are only for best of the best posers. I have a lot post which is the bestbfor me but yet.no merit. Just do your best and continue high quality posting
The majority of what you post is redundant answers in SMT (Spam Mega Threads). You will never get any merit if you keep doing this instead of creating relevant content.

Why you never got any merit so far is because you have been merit conscious. Forget about it, contribute to topics that interests you, go about your daily activities here and viola someone out there will find your efforts merit able and merit it. It's true the merit system made me not to rank up but then again am embracing the forum for what it really iseant for and forgetting about merit. It has been good so far.

Good for you!  I think that your attitude and example is commendable.

However, let us not neglect that fact the THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

Especially to the lower-ranked members that really desire to rank up.  You are so blessed to become a full-member prior the Merit System hence we should extend some sympathy to them.  The information being shared in the forum is already huge in quantity making it difficult (if not impossible) to start an unique and original topic.

Making it worse for newbies because they only know little stuff and all of their current knowledge come from the forum - how can they start a topic that interests a higher-ranked members (please be reminded that only higher-ranked members can give merit/s)  if what they know are only so-so?.

In my case, I am striving to have quality posts and removing the burden of thinking how to earn a merit.  But I cannot fully say that I already achieve that state of mind.  If you will ask me to state 5 reasons of posting, then I will say that getting a merit is one of my top 5.

Thank you very much. You gave me pleasant emotions. I feel and I know that I have something to interest and what to show these assholes with a lot of merit Smiley

How many commandments have you violated?  Wink
Maybe if the commandments were written in English I could answer that.

OP is on ignore.  Hopefully there's a merit source in the Russian section, and hopefully OP has more writing talent in his native language than he does in English.  There's no way in hell he's going to earn merits if he keeps posting this crap in the main sections, not to mention that this entire thread is just a veiled effort to beg for merit.

Rule #1: Never mention about merit in your threads.
Rule #2: Never mention about merit in your topics.
Rule #3: Never feel down, dissapointed when merit have not come to your account.
Rule #4: Never pay your attention on your merits, your rank.
Rule #5: Keep learning, keep composing constructive threads/ topics, merits will come someday.

It's been around 7 days since you have created this topic and I see you still could not manage to get a single merit.
I'm sure that'll still be true at 70 days and 700 days.

I still really want to get a merit.

Trust me if you were the original idea creator of this topic then I would already seen a lot of merits under your name.
PS: Improve your post quality.

hmm .... maybe I just do not participate in the bounty and start with another account?

Lol, please stop this sort of boring topics like "Why I don't get merits? I know why I don't get merits. When I get merits? How to get activity in the forum? How to get merits? etc.?". Those ones have become more popular recent days. I have a theory that there are account farmings tried bombing Meta board to get both postcounts and merits.
Please don't bomb the Meta board with your shitshows.
It's interesting to see spammers joined Meta board and shown their 'pseudo-constructive efforts' to beg for merits.
However, please stop this because such fake-efforts will never get merits.

Smiley) I think this is some kind of a general plot against me)

I always love how bounty spammers come to Meta and make one post other than just Facebook and Twitter links, only to complain they don't get merit for their spam.

Guess what: that's exactly what the Merit system was designed to do!

You are wrong about me. 1. I'm not complaining but laughing at myself. 2. Before you write this, you should study all my topics and posts. Read at least this  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.36289203

But in general, you are right. Inogda want to conduct a dialogue or discussion on the topic, but bounties spammers interfere.

From the topic itself "I understood why I do not get Merit". Then don't blame the system why you don't rank up in the end. I'm sure that this won't be your last thread containing blah blah about Merit System. I'm sure that when you've been pissed off of not receiving any Merits, you'll definitely make another thread complaining about your problem Smiley If you really understood why you don't get Merits, then make a solution to those reasons why no one can't even give you a single Merit. You knew those reasons isn't?

But if you're not interested in getting Merits, then your shitposts are way much better not to exist. I'm not just talking to you OP, I'm also pertaining to everyone, including myself Smiley

I'm not complaining, and yes, I'm smiling. I will work on myself, I will grow. I finished the courses on the analysis of ISO projects, and I think this is a step to success. Good luck to you.

The rule will always be true at any odds.
It's just matter of shitposters that they would like to change their minds, their attitude or not.
I agree that you are right, rule#5 has been suggested (or pseudo-suggested) repeatedly all the time by hundreds of forum users, including shit-posters.
It's something like un-necessary to repeat.

It seems to me that the best way to get merit is posting in the meta section. A lot of you guys here have merit, everywhere else, I don't see it as much.

So many of these type of posts.

Essentially an attempted 'insightful' post from someone who pretends they don't want merit, but actually does, and disguises it by singing the praises of the merit system that has seen them receive zero merit. How original.
I'm glad that you marked my originality. And my message is my confession. I still really want to get a merit. But this is not a problem for me, it's just a fact.
