There are only two things that will possibly happen to the author its either he gets rich and die or he will not die. Bitcoin from 1000$ has moved back to 700$ and if this continues surely the author is immortal. But given the fact that from 700$ with just days of counting it rise up again to 900$ its only a matter of time before it reaches 1000$ again. If the rate of bitcoin going up is slow then he will probably reach old age before bitcoin reaches 50K $ but if destiny will allow bitcoins to move up to 50K$ in 2 years then the author will be super rich and die.

It's good to be realistic but we should not underestimate what bitcoin can do and deliver, you might be surprise when that time happens that we will reach $10,000.
It's easy to make it happen if the trend will continue, if every year there is an increase of 100% then in less than 5 years you can see it.

You are really thinking it would not happen in the near future because instead of your son your thinking for your grand kids to benefit your savings. I don't know if I can ever see that price but I hope I will. Bitcoin has been very consistent when it comes to rising it's price and sometimes it rises abruptly that it reach into the point that it surprise and amaze us. I am a believer of bitcoin no matter what crisis will happen so I will not limit the possibility that it will happen in the near future.

Why stop at $50k only? There some people are already claiming bitcoin price will be at 1 million or more than that. You could find list of these claims and their logic at : https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bitcoin+million

There is fine line between thinking and wishful thinking. A point to understand here in Bitcoin pricing is, lot of 'if and then' are involved in reaching bitcoin to a million $ mark. Reasons like:
- If all business around the world starts accepting bitcoin then prices will sky rocket.
- If More n more people starts using bitcoin then bitcoin price will sky rocket
- If more n more demand for bitcoin is observed then if few years first point be applied and bitcoin be hit.
- If sky fell on earth then also bitcoin prices will touch the sky
- and what not

Without being pessimistic, is todays bitcoin market or adaption fairly distributed around the world? or is it centered around some part of world? How governments and big Banks are going to react when things get serious for them? What would be the impact if any new improved currency gets traction and keeps its momentum?
These are some point which may or may apply equally. These are my two cents on bitcoin prices touching moon or the Sun or moon from next Galaxy.

Reaching $50k is really along way when the price of bitcoin has not been stable by only maintaining the upward trend because if that has been so, then we would have reached say $10000 mark but btc is a volatile currency where any announcement by a world power, actions or inactions with direct or indirect effect on btc will affects its price and this alone is a major stumbling block to achieving the $50k mark. Another thing to look at is if the price even keep up with the upward only movement, I see government coming in to curtail such because one of the strength of a country is its currency and anything that might undermine that, is a threat...

This is something unrealistic and a hope of dream. However one maintains patience I don't think that one bitcoin grows similar to the values of 50K dollars. Right now around 2% of the entire population seems to use bitcoin. The same needs lot time to reach the entire population and make dollar valueless. Also if bitcoin goes as high as 50K sure the value of dollar will decrease a lot.

What is your basis on your speculation? I don't think there's no major relation or effect on the dollar when the price of bitcoin will increase. It only depends on the supply and demand and when bitcoin will make more in demand, it does not mean that the reason is the devaluation of dollar but because of the growing economy of bitcoin where big businesses are adopting with bitcoin.

Looks like we have to throw away that price 50k will happen in short time, initially I was very optimistic that bitcoin will reach $2,000 this month, but after plummeting to $800 I seemed pessimistic, perhaps the highest price in a year is achieved around $1.500, so hope 50 k seems like it takes a miracle.
