I will hold until fiat is worthless. Smiley

fiat is already worthless, their are paper toilet, but it appear that these toilet paper are still the most used, if you eman collapse, i doubt it will ever happen, bitcoin can destroy fiat without waiting for its collapse

well, why sell BTC when you can buy the stuff you want with BTC ?

this will drive up the price through the roof, when bitcoin will not be dumped anymore

BTC will outlive the USD by far, therefore it won't make any sense to sell it for USD.

Buying BTC is about disinvesting from USD, not about anticipating a USD profit.

i totally depends on the market and how the price reaches the specific point . for example if the price continues to grow like this (gradually) i would never sell any of my coins ever. and i keep holding them for the future that more places are accepting it and the price is higher and then start spending them.

but if there is a pump comming and the price surges to a high enough level like $1000-$2000 i would surely consider selling a part of bitcoin stash for profiting .

Everytime I feel like seeing I just have to look at threads like this to realize how dumb I will look like in 5+ years after selling.

Selling bitcoin is basically impossible without eventually feeling like an idiot.

Those who chose the last thing on the poll may want to give some arguments? If you're not willing to sell them then you are for sure going to use them, and that won't happen unless bitcoin becomes mainstream and well known everywhere in the world. That will only happen after xxx years. So, are you willing to wait that much?

I already pay my monthly satellite TV service (Dish) with bitcoin.

When I plan trip, I pay for my hotel (Expedia) with bitcoin.

I purchased a new TV from TigerDirect with bitcoin.

I bought my wife a camera from Overstock with bitcoin.

I subscribed to my local newspaper (Chicago Sun-Times) with bitcoin.

I also occasionally order pizza (Rosati's) with bitcoin.

I'm spending bitcoins for products and services all the time.  Why would I sell them for USD?

Hehe this is so true.

I want to lie & pretend to be a bitcoin die hard, visionary etc etc but if we get to around 5000 USD my finger would be very, very close to the trigger. I'd simply have to sell around 50% of my stash. I'd just have to, it'd be so much money.

I'd always HODL at least 10 bitcoin though just incase 5-10 years after hitting 5000 USD we went to something ridiculous like 100,000 USD. I'd kick myself if I sold way too early.

Bitcoin isn't a bubble. It's the pin!
Im thinking that maybe I would sell most of my Bitcoin holdings at the $2000 - $10000+ Price range if that were to ever happen. I might even sell some of my holdings at the $1,000 Price point too. But no one knows if these prices are possible unfortunately.

you should be able to choose two options in the poll because it has both lower and higher prices in the options which means either go up or down.

if the price goes lower than $200 i will start selling and if it goes higher than $900-$1000 i will start selling too. but never all of my stash, only part of it

my target is 10k, but this not mean that i'll sell at that point, i'll sell only if by that time, i will not be able to use bitcoin directly for everything, so if i need something when bitcoin will touch 10k, and this thing can not be bought with bitcoin, then yes i'll be forced to sell

Are you going to sell them at nice prices? The halving is coming and probably you would be better of if you sold them after that...

Always HODL, selling is for pussies Wink I don't see myself selling a significant portion of my Bitcoin in near future.

I know that you probably don't see my post, but here goes. Just wanted to say that you seem to be pretty lucky. Unfortunately not all people have the opportunity to pay their expenses with Bitcoin. I hope some day I can! I wouldn't have any reason to sell my coins if I could

At what price levels will Bitcoin hodlers sell a significant part of their coins?

I will suggest you not to sell them now at any price just hold them with you , and i am sure that in future you again gonna see the prices like 1000$+ , so just wait , if you wanna sell then you cannot get much more than 300$/BTC .
I am not early adopters so i don't have much , but if i was in place of you would have never thought of it.

Maybe I will sell part of my bitcoins at the price of 10 000 $ one bitcoin. Then I will not spent that money but I will invest those. I will do this only to diversificate my investments. I consider bitcoin as a investment because I think that its value iwll be increased in the future. I think that the demand for bitcoin will increase because of its characteristics and its advantages. So it is not good to sell much of them now.
