Recently started on my i7-6700K using Claymore CryptoNote CPU Miner v3.5 Beta. Initially started 239 h/s then it went down to 198 h/s stable.
Thank you coinnoob_za for suggesting this to me  Smiley

your hashrate is good
I'm using MinerGate to mine Monero with i5 2500k, very low hashrate ~90H/s with 3/4 cores
you can see my testing video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGEA87ogrgw

I have been CPU mining Monero using the MinerGate desktop program also. Have you made any withdrawal yet? I have heard some bad comments on withdrawing Monero from MinerGate. My balance has not reach the minimum yet to try it myself.

I have withdrawed XMR from minergate before without any problem. What kind of bad comments?

- electricity, yes.
 - it wont do any harm unless you will be overclocking or use it outside of specification requirements.

I think mainly because i5 2500k only 4 threads.

Cyrptonight is good on i7!!!

Is it worth the electricity?

You are hardly earn after you pay the electricity bill with cpu mining. But you can mine potential coin and keep, and wait for the price rise in future.

But then I might aswell buy it with the money I would have spend on the electricity.

Haha, I agreed with your point  Grin

But I think he meant you will earn a little after paying electricity.

No, it's not. Ryzen is better in any category, especially efficiency and price. With Ryzen you can move monero and it will be very good at it

Besides mining, does Ryzen play a good role in windows desktop especially programming? Would like to get one for my development machine and might use it to mine while idle.

Currently mining Monero with a i7-4770 getting ~320 H/s using the XMR-STAK-CPU miner. Nexus is another good coin to look at and it's been on a tear up latetly.

Very interesting. What coin are you mining? I've never thought about turning my cpu onto a coin. I have several computers that could easily be pointed to a miner during off hours.

Doing Nicehash Cryptonight @ ~ 198 - 231 H/s slow like a snail but at least something flowing in can't complain Grin

Is there any coin worth mining with an i7-7700?
I looked into Monero, but it doesn't seem profitable. I am mining SIGT with 2xGPU, but I thought I might aswell put my CPU to use when I'm not using it.

Cheers,
pika

Hi,

You can do Merged Mining Dogecoin and Litceoin.

http://altpool.poolarchy.com/

I wondering how both dogecoin and litecoin can be merged mining as both are using same algorithm?

Try MAGI (XMG).

CPU Miner OPT is good for recent high end CPU's, for low end Celerons and Pentiums use Spexx optimized version for M7Mhash algo. Ryzen CPUs in GPU mining rigs are good investment ATM I think. You can make really good profit with them, and they don't consume that much power for the profit they make.

We're making $0.80 - $2.27 per day depending on the coin mined with our AMD Ryzen CPUs.  We don't  mine with any of our Intel CPUs though since they're not nearly as good at it (unless you have Xeons of course). You can make a little bit mining with a recent gen i7 but it's not all that much after power costs.

AMD Ryzen really gives best mining hashrate by CPU mining, may I ask which coin did you mine?
