I am new to Crypto market. There are too many ICOs out there. How do one decide if an ICO is good or bad?
Actually this kind of question already exist, first you need to know the people who handle the project, then what project they make whether it is good and most important is, the dev whether to run the project in earnest and transparent.

ICO is not bad, I have earned way much with them. Yes I understand there are many scam projects too, but if one good project pops out you recover all your loss and earn a good profit extra profit too.

So many ICOs have been a disaster on a fairly large scale. With presales, insiders dumping, and all kind of nonsense hype for coins that can never be met. I am currently involved in a different type of coin release, doing a softopen technique with DirtCoin.  Having no ICO, but prerelease working tech, and its a much smoother and scalable opening for a coin so far. Although no one gets rich quick from a soft open, new users dont get crushed in the opening collapse. So I  would say from a market and user perspective ICOs will be reduced in quantity due to the sheer number of angry investors. The new softopen of DIRTY https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-dirtcoin-bounty-promo-and-airdrop-is-on-2505315 seems to have created goodwill with the small but growing number of happy users

i think there are no good or bad ICO's , it only depends on how the ICO runs its project. If its succeed in the end . Too many ICO's have been running this day , most of them or 80% of those ICO's are fake oe scams , only the 20% of those ICO's are not scams. If you want to invest in an ICO you should start reading its whitepaper , roadmap if its interest you and you think that ICO has a great or big future you can invest on it.

ICO is very different thing, if project is good its ico may not be good for investors. I just know few fair icoS in all icoS.

What do you mean if the project is good, its ico may not good for investors?
As i know some of the ico is legit, now we just need to check which ico has working product mean they are legit.

I dont think there are any bad ICOs,  I think you mean if they are not scam or tend to fail after all. This is really one of the most important question if you wanted to invest in ICOs, no one could accurately tell if an ICO is real, scam, successful or failure because in their roapdmap and whitepaper, everything written there is good and promising. How the cryptoworld and the market reacts to it after the ICO is a very big mystery you can't predict.

I think icos can be good for both sides. For the team to creat some money they can invest into their project and development and for the investors to get some cheap tokens.
It's hard to find a good ico as investor because you will never know if the team behind it can fulfill their ideas and concept or just run away. I think 95% of all icos aren't worth
investing in but if you find one then yes it's a very good chance to 100x or even 1000x your investment.

Before anyone who want to invest in ICO, First they should do proper duedeligence on few standard projects

How to find standard projects ?

You can find list of good projects in rating agency websites like ICO rating.com, ICOalert, ICOcoutdown

The above mentioned websites will provide detailed report on ICOs

Apart from that you can do your deligence by checking MVP of product, Escrow, Linked in profile and community interest.

ICO is good for an honest team that has created technology and needs funding to create a working model and implement technology. But there was a situation when the team receives a huge amount of money for a beautifully designed white paper. After collecting money, the team has no obligations to investors and this is bad. Such a system generates scammers, and creates the view that there is a lot of scam in ICO.

I'd start by opening google, typing "How do I do my ICO research" and going through the first page of results Wink

There used to be good ICOs last year and last two years. But for now there are more bad ICOs than good ICO. Any ways investing in ICO can be risky and can also bring you more profit if you do find a good one. So my point is in the ICO world research is KEY!

by looking for a lot of information about the ICO especially on their web pages. it is very difficult to determine the best ICO but it will all be answered when you are really researching the objectives of the ICO and also can predict the feedback from the community on the ICO.

There are many ICO occurred recently so for me it's difficult to find good ICO. It's just like finding a big fish on the pond.
For me personally, I must observe about the specific ICO before try to invest it since most ICO will not last for a long term.

So prepared for the worst is recommended !

Everything has 2 factor. Nothing is really good or really bad.
Cons:
+ Increasing capitalization of coin so quick.
+ Make profit and bring awareness for people.
Pros:
+ICO is a new concept and the world is not clear what it is. With the fast-paced virtual currency market, this lack of regulation could potentially pose a lot of risk to startups.
+ Risky with scam rate is so high xD.

I tend to think crowdsale financing is experiencing a bubble, driven by stupid money - count here mainly the Ethereum miners and early adopters, that ROI'd immensely disproportionately vs any regular business.
From my POV, VC is much more rational and efficient than crowdsales - in equity financing, the experienced and skilled investor has real methods to keep the team abiding by the business-plan: a majority equity stake allows him to change the team, push hard deadlines and keep everything audited.
In crowdsales the team has little legal responsibility to actually deliver. The scam chance is also there - call it embezzlement, loose management, organized hacks or simply disappearing with all the collected funds. People that organize tokensales have little at stake - they can loose credibility, reputation, but most probably will be left alive with the money. A crackdown from regulatory bodies on crowdsale financing will be welcome - cryptoanarchism BS aside, people should be responsible of their promises and entrusted money. Claiming that a token has security traits is not a fault, it's a praise - you have the legitimate expectation of benefits.
Another issue that concerns me - ICOs raise comparable amounts to companies going public. ICOs have barely the idea, often they lack any MVP and claim 6-7-8 figure USD valuation on the speculation "they will be the next big thing".
What was called "9 out of 10 startups fail" in VC might be restated in the future as "98% ICOs are dumbly expensive, 95% did not deliver, 90% scammed".
