Lately i have been trying to invest 1000$ in few ICO-s and after the incident on twitter about somebody who got paid to promote
ICO that was scam on the end i really was disappointed and i wanted to ask what is most important to look when exploring new companies?
Is it white paper , the team or token supply and price?how to know which one is good and which one is not because lately everything is faked, pictures web sites ,team.you dont know who to believe
thanks

You just have to look for quality , reviews , idea. And observe them for a while what they are doing and how thwy are marketing.

Good example is FORTY seven bank, thir quality is outstanding.
Also the country from where is the team and where they promise to evolve is a good factor.

it is good indicator if they are from EU then you can chech them out nicely, their license their work experience and so on.,

It is so hard to tell which one will not end up as a scam.  Always look for the team, specially the founder.  Try to Google using the keyword scam like this:

of course you should check - do they have at least demo product to show. second thing - team. Of course team could be made up or even sometimes team member doesn't even knows that he is on team. Third - realistic roadmap for expanding

I’m extremely skeptical of YouTuber who pump coins; even more so of ico rating sites. I work in the e-commerce field, and understand the inner workings of paid ratings. Unfortunately, in cryptos there are many people who have no clue about what they are doing a rely on such sites. I personally use them as a starting point of my due diligence and then make my own decisions.

I think the most important things are the idea (is it going to be useful and popular), the team (if some of the team members are well known most likely it is not scam), and the community (if a lot of people are participating, this is also good)

already many such topics. I think you need to look at the availability of the finished product and smart contract.
ICO charts are only approximate and referenced only. To choose a good ICO project you need to study a lot of things in order to make the decision to invest because every day many ICO projects are formed and most of them are phishing projects.

1. Protocol/Platform
2. China team
3. Big companies as seed investors, list of partners
4. High level of hype (big and active telegram and so on)
5. Whitelist or personal cap or something like Fusion ICO was doing.

Thats enough to participate mostly in profitable projects, try.

Honestly, you can never be 100% sure. Pretty much everything can be faked.

It's the white paper, the dev team, the token supply/price and more. You have to do a thorough research, as well as you can and just hope for the best.
We can't depend on the rating because everething now can be paid. For me we should researchful especially what the classic of team they are then the roadmap and whitelist on how they perform well.Theres many things we should considered on how to recognized a good ICO project.

You need to thoroughly study the team, study the idea of the project and really believe that it is necessary for people, and determine the level of popularity, because sometimes even bad projects give a more profitable profit.Because the project was very popular.

Try use the search feature or even just read the titles of other threads before creating a new one.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--2819683

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30376175

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/3-kinds-of-icos-protect-yourself-2243157

That's just 3 of the many threads to get you started. I'd suggest locking this thread (there's a lock in the bottom left) before it gets flooded with all of the same responses on these other threads.
Nice threads. You are probably right, he should consider locking thread but on a serious note, whatever advices that are been given won't help much this days because lately most ICOs scammers are now doing their job very perfectly, so its quite hard to dictate a scam one. In my own opinion, I think OP should go for cheap top listed coins in coinmarketcap site, he can still make his gains.

Never use just one or two resources. Always do lots of research before investing. You cannot trust what an ICO site says alone.

Lately I personally think hype is one of the most important things. Of course you want to be sure it's not a scam, but if it isn't I think hype is a good factor for success/failure (not always true of course).

So I definitely check out icobench ratings, team, website, whitepaper etc but I also look at how big the telegram group is, how much I can find about the ICO posted by others etc.

There are many ico platforms now online that accept and list only genuine projects after due diligence they sort of give me more confidence but yes the risk still remains there but significantly reduced, you can try the platforms like kickico, coinstarter, fundyourself, coss and crowdholding etc.

actually you should pay attention to the team from the project, you can look it up to see their history, then you see how their ico price, whether according to your thoughts or not. usually there are some projects with hardcap that does not make sense. in investment preferably you are more careful again

I'd also look into their community / telegram channel. See how they interect with their community, what are they like and so on.
