Don't be so impatient, Iconomi is a significant project, it will bring everything planned in the roadmap, and we know it is the real project, I never worry about them, I like the cheap price.

Here is a quote from the article you cited:

The way I interpret this, they are calling the beta a limited public release. And in that regard, they have already met their goal.

Also, nowhere in the article is it mentioned March 31st as a deadline for anything.

I didn't mean in my post that it would not launch in Q1. I only meant to say that it wasn't an official deadline. It could launch in Q1, but I do not know for sure. I just don't want the price to dump on March 31st because of a fake rumor. By the rate people are getting beta access I'd say it's coming along smoothly.

... you could read that as a Q4 2016 deadline, which wasn't reached. You could also try to give a generous interpretation, where it is worded in such a way that it doesn't explicitly state the fund would both be ready, and open to invest. However, I think it's safe to say that it strongly implies they are behind schedule already (despite what some around here protest)

Now, I'm not blaming them for being behind. Like people say, delays happen all the time, and Tim has explained their reasons.

So perhaps they didn't say Q1 2017. Perhaps they did. The above link shows they implied Q4 2016 though.

Also... Tim definitely did say there'd be a fiat gateway in Q1:

I do like your overall point though. Information gets confused, and spread around, and people start to believe things that were never said. But sometimes that info does have its reasons somewhere.

I would also contest that Q1 2017 has been flying around so much now, that somebody like Jani must have seen it, and had a chance to correct it. But he hasn't done so. He could say "It might be Q1, but it might take a bit longer", and I think it would be very useful if there was some official statement like that (rather than let people spread the rumour, and possibly be disappointed)

Of course, if they know for a fact it's nearly ready, then I understand the silence.

Nope. I would post a pic but dont have any. i think daparski posted one when it was 0,23$

My theory is that that ICNX is following around BTC market share since those alt currencies are eating BTC to grow.
And now we are in record high of alts of market share. It can go higher but i don't believe that miners/core developers won't make changes.
They have to feel pain of falling price and they will move with some scaling solution then BTC will bounce back.
And now is best question how ICNx will adapt to such situation. From good index i would expect to rebalanced ASAP INDEX to get not over heated alts like Dash/ETH their rise is caused by BTC scaling problems.
Today i won't ever get any ICNX i would go for custom arrays from some good managers or ICNP.
But i am very interested in how ICONOMI will adapt to such situation to keep INDEX live and profitable to buy.

There is no hard deadline. But it has been in beta since February 28 so it is anybody's guess. How long do video game beta tests usually last?

Depend what for you are looking for.
Off couse in terms of market variables now MLN looks impressive but...
Come on all supply was sold in 10min it could be even one or 2 big investors.
If they have like 90% supply its easy to pump price 10x.
They can use bots to manipulate price and create fake volume.
Melon has given 0 news so you should be aware there is something fishy around 3m$ volume ?
While such ICOs like FirstBlood or SingularDTV have volume like ~20k $.
There is obvious some manipulation, markets don't act like that.
I don't know MLN but all those things doesn't adds up.

Are you confusing the price of ICN with ICNX? ICN has been hovering around $.30.
