Personally,  I believe that if an ICO is anonymous,  definitely it could be a scam ICO.  Transparency is the best way to convince people that an ICO is a legitimate one and everthing should be in place like the whitepaper,  team members, the purpose of the project and spreadsheet should be visible for the bounty hunters.

Obviously that it is not a scam, but it would be a shady project in where i would not even put a single dollar into.

I have never seen an anonymous project carrying out a succesfull project, the only one that was capable of being a good one, lost more than 90% of it's value on the last few months (ethorse)

It used to be a good project, but it's lack of trust did not allow them to be listed on good exchanges, because the team was anonymous, and this goes against the exchanges policies.

No, but you have to be careful because it is too very risky. Why invest time and money in a anynoymous ico? Invest it on well-known and potential ICOs.

My take is yes it is because they are more likely to run away and you didn't know where are they after they run, it's like giving away your money to total strangers, but if it is not an ICO and an average mining coins with equal distribution and they already had a platform, then you can go investing on them

The truth is, gone are the days when projects will sprout without a visible team and investors will still believe in the project. Nowadays, getting to know about the team is one of the requisites when due diligence is concerned. Making team members known will attract more investors, especially when well known (star team members) are part of the team. So in my own opinion, if team members are anonymous, it doesn't make the project scam completely but most likely to be scam right now. Hence it's better to make the team known. For instance, if a team attends popular blockchain summits or does an AMA to interact with investors , trust is boosted.

Those were the days where trust was one of the core principle of cryptoenthusiasts. But, as time goes by, due to the huge amount of money flowing inside and out of crypticurrency, scammers take advantage of the unregulated system. Sad to say, this is now the reality. So, for every ICO, you need to perform due diligence. Thus, the quality of verified members are important.

I thought so, until I understood that many developers appreciate the same privacy as us, what I do not tolerate was that they start asking for KYC when they themselves are not going to comply, that would be out of shape for me and would be something suspicious, also I would join with some care, because if they remain anonymous, it is much easier to disappear with our money.

I always recommend any investor in ICO
You must read about the team
I see it as one of the most important evaluation points of the project

Well their argument that Satoshi was anonymous

ico, which is held by an anonymous team, in my opinion is not good, because knowing anonymously is for cheating in any case, so be careful and don't choose the ico they do, it will make you lose money.

...

I have never appreciated a project with a hidden team. This is an untransparency, and it becomes more risky in this crypto world. So, my advice is "stay away from these projects" unless you want your asset become "anonymous" too.

Take a look at the bitcoin white project, I also agree we can't make sure the project is a scam or not if you haven't seen the progress, it's quite risky to invest in an ico like this, but it's the same as other ico scams that put a team visible but end up fraud

We can't call them scam until  they runaway with your investment, there's a big risk investing with project without knowing the team behind, you should think a lot before you will try making investment, even working products has been offered and future success might be reached you still need to do a
hard research and good analysis before making any decisions.

Agreed. A handful of projects also had their good trades even not out in the open but it's really good to have them explain the idea with their face on and to be noticeable when it comes to awareness. Though it's not necessary as the main highlight is the main product but human psychology runs here.

Any ICO operating under the disguise of anonymous team members is likely to be a scam ICO. Before taken the step to invest on a particular project there is a need to double check the team members to verify their real identity before investing but when a team is anonymous the probability of such ICO project be a scam is high.

not all of the ICO who have a team of anonymous is a scam. the most important thing is to always be careful. analysis of the ICO as a whole will help than just looking at it from the side of the team only. There are some great who became even the ICO was done by an anonymous team behind them. so don't just on one programme-information analyzing in ICO.

Its true that we shouldnt generalise that every i o with an anonymous team is a scam but unfortunately quite a few have tarnished the idea of the ico. It is important to be careful but it is difficult.

I came across a project earlier today which is looking to bridge the gap between investor and project https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-know-your-developer-kyd-bridging-trust-between-community-and-developer-4577571 KYD Know Your Developer. I voiced my opinion on that thread that it should get more recognition in order to help people make a more informed decision on whether to put money into an ico or not.

It is risky now to invest to those projects that has anonymous team.

Don't compare to the early projects that we've been using it right now but its completely different now since a lot of scams are rotating.

Considering that at least 90% of the ICOs are scam or failed, there is no reason to invest in an ICOs with unknown development team or partnered company. This is the problem we need to face right now, that is why I would like to see regulations in crowdfunding to somehow minimize scam. Valid and qualified development team to be passed to certain regulatory body, then verified, before they'll be allowed to start crowdfunding.

I have never participated in projects in which the project development team is unknown. The main indicator that the project is not a fraud is the desire of developers to meet with investors and not be afraid to show their faces.

don't ever try to investing your money in some project that doesn't have any information about their team.
It's not safe and it has a high risk. they can run away with your money.
the team information is the most important thing that you should know before you invest your money in some project.

Oh, here you are again about this project. I can't claim to be a Scam, but it looks suspicious. why did the team remain anonymous? maybe it is an adequate reason? we need to study this issue.  this is unusual, but not necessarily cheating.

For me, it is not good to a project that would put anonynous in their team. It is better not to invest this project it will put your money on risk and time wasting. It is a scam do not trust it.

High chance to become scam if the ICO team is anonymous because if they are legit why they did not give their information to us. Maybe they have privacy but once you have project they need to know the investor who is the team so they know if they can trust them or not.
