litecoin will drop as well but will the other altcoins rise? I feel bitcoin price will drop, just a matter of time.
Most of the alt coins are depending on the run of bitcoin.
But if you are saying it will drop, yes it will drop just a short period but remember it will
pump after the halving.

that is right. I do not buy altcoin with dollars or other fiat. I buy them with bitcoin. So it is important to me.

This is perfect example and we can watch in real time what happening with price. Small decrease - buying and then rise again. This won't crash bitcoin because this is false news and it will take little time while people don't realize..

False news? There is a possibility that it might not be true, but I won't call it false news.
What more do you need, apart from proof that Craig holds Satoshi's private keys.

I think till bitcoin halving, condition of altcoins will not stabilize and high fluctuations will be seen because people are more interested in bitcoins. But after the halving condition of altcoins will be way better and stabilize. And lets accept it, no one can not predict the exact prices because digital currencies are highly volatile.

Better hope Wright is not Satoshi,
if so the world governments or just some con artists will get the access to satoshi wallet from him and crush the price of BTC.
Dumbest thing in the world to admit to it, I hate to think Satoshi is that stupid.

I see situation differently. Its just a matter of time before btc become much more accepted in this world, I also see that some alt coins will follow that rise. There is too much coins oiu there, and this technology is the future. Bitcoin make a way for them all and it's a leader of them all.

Few days ago I saw a nice thread ( look around, read something else then comic books) about ltc news, some people expect nice rise in some near future. I bought few coins and added to my ltc balance after reading that.

BTC could disappear tomorrow and ALT coins with strong communities would continue on.
LTC & Doge would immediately become the main trading pairs instead of BTC, and not because they hold anything special,
it is just they already have Fiat trading pairs setup , so they would be switched to the quickest.

Crypto Revolution is underway, it does not matter if one falls, another will takes it's place quickly.  Cheesy

Dream on Smiley. Bitcoin is the only trusted crypto today. If it falls, the trust in the technology itself will fall, and it will take many years to rebuild that. Maybe in 10 years when other coins gained traction, you will be right but not in these days.
I think theirs a possibilities if that bitcion will  have a big crash and i think it happen if the halving well occur on this for example what if those who buy bitcoin @ a low price and holding big amount and waiting for halving because they speculates the price Increase of bitcoin anD when halving is occur i think many people do massive selling cause theey already earn a profit, massive selling well happen and thats after effect of halving and it have possinilities to affect bitcoin price.

You Trust BTC, which implies you Trust China , which that is your decision.  Smiley
(China Controls over 60% of BTC mining pools.)
But don't expect everyone to feel the same way.

All of the newer coins are faster than BTC and many just as stable,
placing the older slower BTC on a Holy Pedestal is nothing more than nostalgia that holds no weight in the real world.

Example:
If BTC was a old car and you used it to travel to work everyday, and it died beyond repair , would you quit work,
No you would get another car. (And you would not wait 10 years to do so.)

We have all experienced the convenience of crypto and the idea that we all would give that up because BTC died , is foolish and naive.

As for Me, if BTC did end in the next year or so, I move to LTC & Doge without batting an eye and so would the exchanges & coinbase,
because they are in this for Profit not to worship at the alter of BTC.
In fact, I have already moved to Doge for micro payments as BTC is already a failure in that area.

who would not like this to happen?
My next step would be buying as much as i can, buy - frenzy.
this will trigger and LTC dump, also this could be very good chance and for buying of many others coins that will recover very fast after bitcoin recovers..But probability is very small for this to happen, forget it!

Right now Bitcoin is pretty much the cryptocoin market.
Bitcoin could crash due to 2 reasons - some alt gains traction or there is general disenchantment with Bitcoin. In the second case, I think the marketcap of entire crypto system would decrease.

litecoin has already dropped after the recent pump, now i am just waiting for the bottom to buy back in because bitcoin will not crash, not anytime soon this year we will only see the rise of bitcoin and nothing else. these small dips are just shakedowns.

and to answer your question, litecoin will always follow bitcoin price up or down.

We already had situation when in 2014 all alts had very bad day, when bitcoin started to decline, but with even small rise of it, everything was ok and this is why i don't even consider worst case scenario. This is just business!

first of all i have to say that bitcoin price is not going to drop, corrections yes, shake down of weak hands well yes to that but drop no.

and as we saw from the recent shake down the litecoin price came back down from 0.009 to 0.0083 and now it is stuck and waiting for the rise again.

so i guess that answers your question on how it is going to react to any change in bitcoin price.

What price is crash?  $300? $200?

In the Stock Market
Markets are generally thought to have crashed when prices drop by 10 percent or more in a given day.

So technically a BTC @$450, would be considered a crash if it loss $45 in 1 day.

However BTC is more volatile than stocks, so I would speculate it would have to lose 50% or more in 1 day for people in the forums to consider it a Crash.  Smiley
So anything ~$225 and below.

 Cool

FYI:
Even if a crash to ~$225 , BTC Marketcap would still be over 3 Trillion Dollars, so that would not be the end of them.

Altcoins are generally dependent on Bitcoin, even Ethereum which is lauded as a currency that has no real Bitcoin backing had funding via Bitcoin.
So, really if the entire ship sinks it will take down everything with it unfortunately.
ETH living alone as the biggest cryptocurrency... i cant even imagine it.

The market of altcoin will crash if bitcoin crashes.

If the bitcoin crashes, it means some wrong fundamentally. So all the cryptocurrencies will also crash.

Most altcoins cannot be bought directly. You need to buy BTC and exchange your BTC for alt's (there are a couple exceptions to this rule tough). In my opinion, this means that when bitcoin drops, the actual USD or € value of the altcoin will drop to, eventough the exchangerate BTC/ALT might rise, the actual price will most likely plummet and follow BTC.

There some markets based on altcoins. For example, in Poloniex, you can buy several coins with Monero.
Yeah, I'd like to see more of that--not Monero specifically, but I'd like to see more pairs trading.  But with all the altcoins on the market, man.  The trading would be pretty thin initially.
