But how many was born and died? How a crypto can die?

I would say that if mining comes to a complete halt, that could be compared to a heart flat-line - or the equivalent of crypto death. This occurs primarily in currencies that were created solely for the purposes of P&D.

Coins need a reason to exist; this brings about community support and growth. I think the correct flight path is one which preserves protocol integrity, respects consensus, and comes with built-in consumer appeal.

Currently USD is the first currency and all other currencies are trying to get the place from it and become the first currency, and if any of them get success to become first then definitely USD will come at second, So i will say that if bitcoin became the first then second will be USD.

Litecoin was second most popular,
but currently Ethereum has replaced it as second known cryptocurrency.

None know the correct answer for it. Bitcoin is the first among the digital currency, and the later went unnoticed as those days price were not much. For this reason I believe only bitcoin developers might known about the very next coin that existed following bitcoin.

If I remember correctly, the second was Namecoin. But this is not supposed to be a real currency, more like a project to replace DNS. For example look how thepiratebay.se was recently seized, this shows how DNS system is centralized and how it potentially will be rigged in the future. Thus a distributed alternative was born.

I incline to agree that Litecoin is the Second to bitcoin. Doge and Ether (if you consider it as one of the digital currency) have unlimited supply and the value of each coin will decrease eventually. The limited supply, which is one of the most important features, of bitcoin and litecoin will make them long term storage of value.

i think OP mean, "If bitcoin is the first popular cryptocurrency, so what is the name of second popular cryptocurrency?" maybe litcoin if i'm not mistaken, this coin was created in  October 2011 by former Google engineer Charles Lee.

Litecoin was probably considered to be the second most popular cryptocurrency for a long time, but it seems to be sort of stagnant right now.  I think that etherium may be number two now or possibly dogecoin.

As said by everyone else, it's probably USD and maybe Euro comes after that. But if you are talking about all crypto then Lite coin comes next to bitcoin.
If we talk about crypto currency, so Bitcoin is the first currency, and second currency i think all coin are equal, because i have no more experience about other coin, actually i have no interest in other crypto currencies, i like bitcoin so i m here, otherwise if bitcoin is not here than i don't want to stay here, and secondly if we are talk about real money, than bitcoin is first and USD is the second currency.

If you're go based on chronological order, it's starts with Bitcoin, and if I remember correctly, that lead to Litecoin being the second crypto that was noteworthy and is actually traded and remembered.

As for popularity, that shifts constantly, all the time.

Bitcoin has been (and likely will be) the most popular cryptocurrency in recent memory, and the second most popular crypto seems to switch every few months (or in extreme cases years).

But how many was born and died? How a crypto can die?

A crypto need hashpower to confirm the transaction.
I would say if the hashpower goes to 0( so no transactions) then this is a deadcoin.

A countless number of coins already born and died... these days people are trying to scam all time with shitcoins.
