You should increase your positions .... now the price is low and make a good average

I agree.
All you can do is hold. Close positions is take the loss. The market will rise and significantly, since we are still at the beginning of the way. Just hold. Months, maybe more than a year, no one knows.

Bored....
If you can afford it, sell in loss and next time when u buy altcoin think , think & think before.
It's longrun for recovery but in 0.5yrs u can make good money by day trading.

Another option: Wait, wait.

I think the year will have to wait. This is a long process after correction. And maybe even more

I had the same situation, but I bought coins almost on previous peak (middle of June). I used to wait until the end of November when alts began to grow.
~0.5 year gone...

How long do you think I would have to wait until I break even or see profits? I bought nearly all my coins near ATH, unfortunately.  Embarrassed

For example - I bought NEBL when it was trading at around $48. It is now $14.04. I bought SUB when it was trading at around $3.25. It is now $0.54. Bought DRGN when it was trading around $5! It's now $1.41. Everytime I see portfolio, I really wonder how much longer time it will take for me to at least break even or see some green. Sometimes, I get worried they will never recover. Should I be worried? Realistically, how long do you think I might have to wait to see some turnaround? Thanks  Huh
You should but everyone that bought crypto at peak will have the same feels like you dude. How they have bought a lot of crypto at peak but it just take a month to the price of crypto to get plunged a lot.
I think that depends on the trend of crypto itself. But i believe that will come again at the middle of year. I was speculating another big waves will come soon(Q3-Q4).
Remember just try to invest that you afford to lose.

This is a bit unfortunate. But not too unfortunate in that the perfect time will still come that the previous ATHs of all the altcoins and Bitcoin will be surpassed. Insofar as my own speculation is concerned, June is too far for these ATHs to get surpassed. So for now, all you need to do is to wait for that time. It might happen in March or April. The most probable thing here is that it will happen in the first half of the year. Just do not sell them or you are like throwing away profits.

If you are active trader you can sell the alts and buy btc as btc is looking bullish from here, then sell btc at peak and then buy alts from the dip and you will recover quickly but the process can take many weeks, if you are not a trader you should hold for few months to recover.

I bet most new comers bought right at the peak, most people have to learn the hard way but if you stick it out you will recover your losses eventually. it should bounce back by summer maybe sooner, you just never know.
This has been happening and many newbies always buying their coins aND tokens at a very high price and most time in just a month or week they see their coins getting dump. I bought stratis and tron last month and of a truth there are now at lose because I bought them at a very high price. Crypto coins markets has been in a bearish trend since last month and we hope it recover soonest.

I was in the same situationI started trading altcoins back in may 2017 when almost all of my coins were at ATH. And it took me few months to break even as i made the mistake of going all into altcoins and not keeping bitcoin in my portfolio.

So if you have BTC in your portfolio try to avaerage out on some of your coins this way you will be able to get out of those coins sooner.

It was actually all your fault. You entered markets in such position that every coin was pumped as hell, and many people were keep writing on forums "how bears will hit harder than ever". I wish you could watch here in january.

It looks like you picked the wrong time to buy, but it's not just your fault. Yes, after the massive recession, the price of all alts has decreased threefold at least, and now we have to wait either for summer or for the end of the year and hope that everything will return to its previous indicators to begin with.

Could be today, tommorow, the next after tommorow, weeks, months, or even years. No one know exactly when the price will be back or recovered. It's hard choice anyway, you could just cut loss and re-invest on other token or let your investment stay like that for longterm

Yeah or it could be never, most startup in real life will fail and only a few will succeed. I believe we are in a bubble like the dotcom bubble, only a few good coins are going to be the next amazon.

No one can tell you when that things to happen again, it might be this year or even longer but if you are holding great coins don’t be scared because everything will be back to normal on time. But you must learn first on how to control emotion and to trade properly so this thing will not happen again to you.

I think you are inexperienced to invest in new altcoins in the crypto market. I think you need to improve your knowledge of crypto and you will invest better. But new people should invest in NEO, Bitcoin, ETH. that's 3 altcoins you get a lot of profit when buying them. Especially when the market is red, you can buy them cheap and sell at high prices.

I would not sell at a loss if I were you. In fact I wouldn't sell at anything less than a x2.

Crypto hasn't had its real boom yet since it's still under 1 trillion market cap. By all means transfer your bags between different coins that are also at their ATL (don't speculate on new ICOs or FOMO on pumps). But I wouldn't recommend cashing out at a loss. Be patient.

Did you read the new bitcoin.com article on altcoins? They said that last year 46% of altcoin fail, so in my opinion if he keeps on holding maybe it will go even lower but this is crypto so maybe it will pump up. But holding forever is not a good idea, I think lots of altcoin will fail and go to zero.

i sold a lot of coins in loss in the past monts and now i regret it!never sell in loss, almost every coin can recover easily, maybe only if the devs scam like bitconnect, in that case it would be convenieent to sell
