Some people may agree to you but how about who stand in opposition? Would you insist your plan to be implemented? If yes then I think that will be a bad idea. Your country might face chaos because of the dictatorship-like form of governance. I know that your intentions are good but of course you should still consider the pulse of the society.
IF i had the chance to managed a certain government i would really apply blockchain technology and give their budget in a form of cryptocurrency or digital currency that could be used as a form of payment and could even trade to fiat money.
Oops! The price of crypto is naturally volatile, remember? I think it will be hard to manage the funds properly if its value fluctuates from time to time. So for now, still fiat wins and crypto could only be an option dealing with small transactions.
In this way we could eradicate the corruption

For me, the best way of getting rid off the corruption or greatly reduce it at least is by filtering the government itself. Hunting down the corrupt officials is the key since they are the root of the problem because I believe that clean governance is the start for continuous growth.
It is really that hard just. to select and filter those good government employees as we all know even the closest friend and relatives in the government still do corruption without recognizing if you are a friend or a relatives as the money will really matter to them. The government should invorporate the blockchain system to eradicate corruption and impose transaparency through blockchain.

If i could manage the government the first thing that i will do is to manage our economy, because I believe that if we can manage our economy like what Pres. Marcos did, we the Filipino can fight the puberty. We all know that puberty is the biggest problem here in the philippines and I think by managing the economy first in a great way we can fight the puberty. I will also eliminate the corruption because this is the major problem in every country.

In this way we could eradicate the corruption because the public could be aware on where the budget of the people coming from taxes will going through. Yet, until now the government is not interested on cryptocurrency or if they are they are not willing also to investigate and checked how cryptocurrency works and how could it will be applied on their system. They just want their business to continue as usual doing ghost project? I do not know maybe!

You have a good idea and I understand your sentiments. Being a normal citizen in our country we think that we are smarter than those people at the position of our government. You need to know that being a top official you have to consider all options and possibilities that it will benefits all level of your countrymen. If you will go with blockchain, how do you manage the price manipulation by those whales? This is the reason why bitcoin will not go as a currency and slow in mass adoption as the volatility is too high. Imagine from $1k it pumps to $20k and then drops to $6k in less than 2 years span. It can lose the money from your government with the decline of bitcoin price...will you say to your people that we need to hold since the price drops and we lose the value of our money?

If it could only be done in our country it will be a big help to our President right now, whose pursuing to stop corruption and corrupted people. Whenever people gain power in the government they embrace it fearfully that leads to being greedy, I hope and pray that this system in our  county change to have a worthy future.

I totally agree with your opinion, it will be very neglected to use this cryptocurrency for expenditure or use. and the unemployment rate for a little economy will increase rapidly. I think everything will get better with this crypocurrency or blockchain.

If that is your plan, then I would say that you are not thinking about the welfare of your subordinates as you are naglecting the volatility of cryptocurrency. Leading your people to crypto without thinking of the risk it has is a big gamble on the side of your governance.

Obama built a website to monitor budget spending in his 1st term. Almost no one bothered to look or keep track of it, afaik.

People sometimes adhere to the view that government exists to prevent them from caring or thinking about issues. This may not be a realistic approach. For society to function and thrive could require a basic standard of knowledge and competency from the public. People must support the right policies and have the education and information to recognize which stances are best for them. There isn't necessarily a substitute for this. Often the media will convince the public to support things which are the worst for them.

Blockchain can reduce the trust factor present in transactions. It has not yet engineered to be viable in removing the trust factor from deciding economic, financial or regulatory policy. And so while I like the optimism, I think blockchain may not yet be poised to eliminate corruption in the real world.

That seems to be a good idea. Government funds on cryptocurrency is a bit transparent in that case. Yet their seems to be a disadvantage if it would follow the system used by most cryptocurrency. The problem would be in the form of volatility that coins will have. It should be different and based on fiat for it to become effectively transferred otherwise some price manipulation could probably occur given that projects or budgets are big or is high valued.

Even we hunt them and remove from their position, corruption won't end that easy. A blood that runs into the system that can't be stop unless you kill it. And achieving a clean governance is like finding a salt in water. Impossible.

So this blockchain technology that OP wanted to do in government is insoluble and I guess government won't agree to establish a decentralized thus they want it to be fully centralized wherein they can manipulate everything. And many aspect should be taking out for consideration but one thing is certain that having blockchain isn't the answer.

If could manage a government, I would use 10% of the tax revenue to buy bitcoin. Grin
I would change the operating systems of all govenment clerk's computers from Windows and Mac to Linux.
I would upload all the paperwork into the blockchain and fire all the lazy bureaucrats. Grin

Yes there are many possible situations that we must think first before implementing the cryptocurrency as a payment system. Cryptocurrency can change a lot in our society and also the government but before implementing that we should ensure that every people are agree and aware about its system so that they can also have an idea that could help them to use it based on its functions and everyone can be benefited from it.

yes, if blockchain is applied in the government, corruption may be minimized significantly because all transactions can be seen by the public
but government must anticipate the anonymous nature. if it is legalized, it means that it is more free to transact using blockchain, and that gives an opportunity for money laundering

Talking is so easy right? I bet if youre in the government, sitting on the highest position, who controls everything financially, you would also become greedy looking at millions of money in front of you. While the idea of cryptocurrency contradicts with the governments. Ever wonder why governments are banning cryptocurrencies in some countries?

The thing about policy making is that it isn't going to benefit everybody. What makes you thing streaming the government activities via the blockchain is going to advance the country transparently? While I think this is wishful thing I also believe it won't amount to much doing it. In fact, that will even be exposing certain government businesses that should not be.

If I could manage the government, I would listen to the people I am serving with. I would focus on what my country really needs. I would teach decipline and humanity. I would assure my citizens that they are safe. I am letting them to speak for suggestions. I would balance the socio-economic status, and all the sector of the government. I would be an example of a good leader. Not just a leader, but also a simple citizens who follows the rule of the society. I would spread peacefulness to our partner counties or allied. I would not be a ruler, but also a good follower.

I understand your concerns about the government but there are many more factors that are affecting their decision and one may not understand if we are not in their position. We do say a lot about the wrong decision making of government but to be honest they don't decide things out of thin air but with smartest mind on the panel who take the decision over things that matters and things that doesn't. There is huge difference in our thinking and the government itself because they have to look after many things that are going under within the nation. Belive me we wouldn't know it and if you ever get the chance to become government then you may come to know what I am saying right now.

You all talk about decentralization, but it is not profitable for the state. Therefore, banks, the state, private corporations are trying to create a centralized blockchain, which is located in their jurisdiction and stored on their servers. For them it is convenient, but for the system itself Huh who knows?..

... Secondly, making use of cryptocurrency won't help a lot to fight the corruption, maybe a10% not more.

This. For some reason most people imagine corrupted politician as some evil-laughing thief who just fills his pockets with taxpayers money. In practice, such guy would just make action that benefits certain influential group, so at the end of his political career he can land a cosy spot in some board of directors of affiliated company (or get his children on the payroll). We even have legalised bribery in form of lobby groups donating to political campaigns. Blockchain's transparency won't help much with that.
