It's easy, from now on you can give any information to access your wallet account to your wife. You don't need to feel suspicious or anything to your own wife regarding the bitcoin balance you have, because only by giving you all the access you want, then if you die first your wife can continue. This case will be different if you have to share it with your child or siblings, but if it is your wife then there is nothing to worry about.

Your wife should be your partner in anything you do, unless you have trust issue with your wife that's the problem where you need to find someone who you really trust.

Simply give them all the instrustions about your assets, from your wallet and to how to access everything. In case you died unexpectedly your bitcoin asset are safe.

They can achieve and claimed  all those money that you are keeping inside your crypto invesment.

This is really an interesting question that I have been also asking in myself once and a while that if I die, to whom will I let my Bitcoin reside because life is really short and we certainly don't know when we are going to die so we better must get ready for any chances that our treasury will be accessed by those we trust the most since they will be the ones to benefit on the things I will left behind once I am gone. I think it will be really essential to teach the one who you trust the most regarding such matter so that whatever happens, he/she will gain access into your account and can make it up using your remains whether it is Bitcoin or other sorts of crypto out there. I have really come to think of it that I might be needing to settle things while it is early rather than late.

I went to market with my wife to buy things for our new born baby, after my wife selected baby things that Worth thousands and I paid with my btc,the transaction was very easy and faster. When  we returned home ,she asked if you die can I achieved your btc or continued with your account? Because it's very easy and faster in trading and transaction.
Valid question asked in the wrong way. To me, if my wife asked me some certain question I might not be angry at it because we know each other and I will definitely understand why she is asking the question even if it might seems to have come out wrongly so I might not take offense to it besides, I truly will want my wife to have access to my Bitcoin for my children when death actually happens because it will even though we don't like to talk about death much.
So even if I might not give her the passwords or info to my cryptocurrencies immediately, I would definitely want to have them in a place they can access with info on how to go about it cos I wouldn't want my cryptocurrencies to be lost when I am gone.

This is really suspicious, how come your wife asking that thing on you, If you die can I achieved your BTC? like seriously? Why did she ask you that question? It is something offensive for you or maybe you already have sick which may cause death or your doctor has already limit your life, but if there is no between the two then it is really suspicious for a wife to ask that question, I am just curious on the reaction of yours after she asked you about it.

That's actually normal for every wife to think of the possible things that could happen to their husband's savings and investments especially if they have kids. As for me, it's important to share your Bitcoin access to your most trusted person and that could be your wife or partner in life. There are cases where a deceased Bitcoiner's family members couldn't access his accounts and that person's funds went to nothing. We don't know what could possibly happen in the future so we should be wise.

Of course yes she can acquire your bitcoin especially your assets as long as she knows the seed phrases or the private keys of your wallets so that when you die she can easily access the wallet that you are using. Another thing is that when you buy a ledger and share with your husband then probably you will be able to have access also on his wallet. This is a good thing to do when you have a family because whenever you died there is always a person who will be able to acquire the assets that you've left.

You could share the private key of your address with your wife and both of you could have the same address on different wallets. Or if you have an app or online wallet you could give her access to it.

The problem is the security, if both of you have the private keys and the wallet gets hacked, will be hard to know who was the target.
if you trust yourself enough, it is easy to say that the wife is the one being targeted. In order to be safe, you can use hardware wallet giving us fulll control with high level of security

Giving private key is enough but I will only do it in my testament

LOL, Bitcoin doesn't care who you are or when you die.  Anyone who has the keys to your account owns it.

For my part, I haven't shared the private keys or backup of my wallets to anyone. It is not due to the fact that I don't trust my wife or other relatives. But the real reason is that they don't have enough technological expertise to understand the concept of Bitcoin. There are a few distant relatives who have sufficient knowledge about cryptocurrency, but I don't trust them. So for now, I am stuck in dilemma on how to deal with this issue.

Sure she can use your account once you die or even when you are alive, if you share your private key with her. Anyone who has the private key can spend withdraw funds from your wallet. I think you should write your private key on some paper and keep it save in some documents. Also tell her that if you die, she can use this private key to access these funds.

Of course if you die your wife can receive the Bitcoin you have, therefore from now on, save the Bitcoin that you have in a hardware wallet
which is the safest storage place. You can tell your wife the private keys of your hardware wallet, after that teach slowly about the world of
crypto and how to access your hardware wallet. Bitcoin can indeed be inherited, therefore it is very important when we are alive to tell our
partners or our families about cryptocurrency. So if we die the Bitcoin we have can be inherited.

It's weird when your wife asks the question. If you die?. But if you want someone to know the Bitcoin number you are holding, use your Bitcoin number. This is very simple. Provide your wallet key (private key) for her or someone you trust. They can use your Bitcoin number as yourself.

stupid question from a wife I have never heard of anything like this I am very offended as a man, it is inappropriate for a wife to ask such questions as if there is a plan to kill her husband. I wouldn't be straightforward with a wife like that. A child asking someone who knows about property offends his parents especially a wife who asks how to get an inheritance when we are alive and well, this is really crazy.

While bitmover has explained how to transfer the BTC wealth to the next of kin, that question sounded so dark; after shopping, go home, gets asked "Will I get your BTC if you die?".
Actually i felt serious in that one also , Because why talking about death just hours after She saw you used that BTC transaction ? haven't OP told His Wife about BTC ever since or they did not tackled how this works?

I find it offending if i were in His place to be asked like this in not so formal manner after seeing the function.

But regarding the question ? since you looks like wanted to share it with her, Then why not give her the Private key also ? since that is your conjugal wealth being married couple.

I felt like damn, this guy married a devious gold digger(or probably a "black widow"). Grin
If a woman asks me that question,I would be like "Stay away from my Bitcoins you b*tch, you won't get anything,my kids will inherit my BTC,not you!" Grin I would then probably get a divorce after that. Grin
Such question is really offending. As if that woman is planning to kill the guy and get all his money/assets.

Grin Grin Grin All that just made my morning. Yeah you are right, I think it is the manner and time she asked the question even if it was a valid question because like I said before, we wouldn't want our Bitcoin or any other asset to be lost without proper direction as to their accessibility when we are gone but she voiced it the wrong place and time.

sometimes preparation is necessary, I've personally thought about the future if I die, where will my bitcoin and other crypto assets continue
I save data on falshdisk making a message to my child how to use it and seek help if they don't understand how it works
For the future, I will use the hard wallet to make it easier for my family to use it

Which country are you in the country? Going to the market to buy and pay by Bitcoin is very convenient and so quickly proves that Bitcoin's water is accepted. In Vietnam, everyone uses cash to pay all daily expenses, go to market, dining, and playing ... Bitcoin is only used for people who are enriched, for people with knowledge about Digital. I think if you die, your loved one can still use your Bitcoin and Bitcoin wallet. Only they use, account and password.

If you don't give your private key to someone before you die, no one will be able to enter your wallet in any way.  That means your bitcoin will be lost forever.  Why don't you tell your wife what your private key?  He is a part of your life.  My advice would be to give your wife the private key of your wallet.  So that he can earn this money when you die.

I believe your wife just asked you a very good question I think she really believe in bitcoin and she notice the transaction is very easy. Your wife is your life partner so I don't think there is anything you should hide from him I believe the only thing you will have to share with her is your password since she is definitely your wife and she asked a very nice question, I believe if you don't share your password with your wife after your death your bitcoin will definitely be useless forever so is better your wife have access to your bitcoin wallet so that it won't waste incase if anything happens to you.

indirectly your wife realizes that Bitcoin means a lot and can make transactions easier, that's where you have to give full trust to those closest to you such as your wife to be able to provide a password to access your bitcoin wallet. because the wife is a life partner that we must trust so that one day if we die the Bitcoin that we have will not just disappear
^ Definitely right even though the question of his wife is also a wrong approach for me. It seems like, his wife worried about his BTC, not about his death.  Grin Well, see should always have a safety box where we can store our valuable belongings and maybe one of our trusted family will inherit what we have. BTC is very easy to inherit, as long as the one who inherits is also willing to learn the technical stuff of BTC on how to use and adapt. We should always be ready at all costs and secure the future of your family especially your child. Because BTC belonged to the valuable assets and considered as a good asset even in the future.

Secure the recovery phrases for the wallet and keep it filed. I've kept a separate file for it, and has shown it to my wife. If something happens, she can recover the funds available within the wallet with those recovery phrases. Apart from this there are legal service renders who handle funds and settle to the respective person who is the legal heir. This way achieving ones bitcoin after death has turned to be an easy process.
Agree, explain to someone you trust such as your wife about how things works such as recovering files and wallets. Teach her the basic stuffs so that when something happens and you are not available, then he will be able to access your wallet and withdraw the funds. That way you can you make sure that he or she will be able to access your wallet and funds whatever happens to you.
