If we should all go by the ratings we give to how lucky we are when gambling then it will almost got us discouraged because most gamblers barely made an average of 50%, i will place myself on 30% being lucky whenever i gamble but I don't count it a big deal since that was not the drive that made me gambling everytime, but this will become a thing of concern for those that actually base their live earnings on gambling because they do so by making a living.
I agree with you, but on the other hand, I think professional gamblers(if I should call those who make gambling a  means of their livelihood that) definitely know how to win, it's just like ordinary day trader compared to a professional day trader.

Professional gamblers have deeper knowledge of varieties of games and know how to increase their chances of winning, since it's what they do for a living, they have to do their homework really well to ensure that their chances of winning is as high as possible, so they don't end up begging for bread.

They are not like most of us here that gamble merely for fun, and even when we gamble for profit, we do it blindly and hoping we get lucky and win.

~snip~

I have always believed that gambling is a game of luck and not skills and experience. I am not good at recording my gambling activities because it's not a priority in my scale of preferences Taking a fast check of my last year's gambling activity I can speculate that I was not so lucky. Maybe luck was by my side at the rate of 35%. The surprises of this year's world cup contributed to my losses.

I have not changed my gambling plans for sometime now and I don't intend altering it this year. My monthly budget for gambling is still the same and I will be depending solely on luck because I might not have the time to analyze games because of work engagements.

I am interested in your statement, regarding that gambling is a game of luck not skill and experience. ok, let's review your statement. there are various versions of gamblers interpreting gambling itself and one of them is you who believe that gambling is pure luck. what you say is not entirely true, nor completely wrong. that in fact, luck is the final determining factor in every bet we make. however, I have a different viewpoint. I think, if it's a casino game, then almost all types of games offered are purely based on luck, although there are always methods, strategies that are applied in each betting session.

For a sportbook, I'm not sure it's just luck. because here, we involve insight, experience, as well as skills when analyzing the teams that will compete. in particular, the one you choose as a bet. because of that, it looks like the surprise at the Qatar world cup yesterday contributed to your loss. Remember, in soccer or other team sports betting, the underdog team won't always win every time. so, this is where the role of foresight, experience, skills, analysis, we are used.

by the way, if we have different points of view I hope you can understand that.

In one sense I think it's better to enjoy than win from gambling. Although everyone wants to win. One of the biggest problems of gamblers is that they fail to maintain their integrity in gambling. Every person has more or less greed for money. Even if a gambler knows the basics, he cannot survive on his balance for long. Because he gets addicted. Common sense fails to work at that moment. In 2022 many have made good from gambling and many have lost everything due to addiction. I think both profit and loss are my daily companions.

Even maybe I am very unlucky, I always feel a lot wrong from right in guessing. Although I do that only on weekends. Because I have a main job and it makes me tired for the working day. I think it's an ineffective day.  Maybe if you calculate the percentage, maybe I will be in a minus position. Because the Bitcoin I use to bet is in a loss position from the initial capital.
But I am not sad because my bitcoin that i used focused on gambling and entertaining. So I know the risks, and mybe my all litle bitcoin can be lost. Am I allowed to write down my minus number because it is not in the title of this topic?  Grin
It's not that a lot of you guys are unlucky but it's just gambling is built that way to eat our coins Cheesy. Instead of saying if we are lucky or not, why we can't just be contented on what gambling has to offer with us people. It should give us a short happiness to forget our real world problems for a while.

What you did there on gambling only at weekends is right. This must be your rest days. Gambling had some great benefits but it shouldn't interfere with our schedules. Gambling rarely helps you cut your gambling expenses and prevents you from becoming an addict to it.

I think it's too shameful if you will still write your exact luck since you said it was negative but it can be considered already as 0 or zero.

For me,
I will rate my 2022 gambling luck 5% out of 100, I didn't gamble much, but for the little I gambled, I didn't win much either, Infact, I think I lost more money than I won from gambling in 2022.
Funny enough, i think we are on the Same stats but mine is a little better i would say because i did had some minor winnings in my overall stakes last year but i won't compare it at all to all my losses i experienced last year so i guess i would grade my luck under 8%.
I endured most of my lost during the world cup competition in Qatar, the world cup was just full of shocking results and maybe i was unlucky too because almost all the coupon i played was lost and i decided to slow down a bit.

But this year plan for gambling, i think am just going to go for playing of 2.00 odds trying just to get double of my stakes maybe that move would be better and am still hoping on luck to be by my side if not even the 2.00 odds i want to play would result to lost.

My gambling plans for this year 2023...
I currently do not have any plans yet for this year as I've not really settled into the year, have a few debts from last year I am still trying to settle before I think of gambling again..
I am enthusiastic about gambling this year. I generally like sports betting. I have continued my gambling since the last World Cup till now and I am planning to manage the gambling very well from the beginning of this year. There are many events this year. I am very keen on gambling in almost every event. But if I'm not excited or panicked I can do better there. One of my weaknesses is that when I'm gambling consistently, I deviate from many calculations and gamble differently, causing me to lose everything at some point. So I started the new year with the determination to do something new.

It's a Simple question -
Let's all assume that luck could be measured in percentage, I want us all to rate our luck in gambling for the year 2022,
From 0 to 100, rate how lucky you were in gambling last year.

It's a bit hard for me to tell how good or bad 2022 was for me, because I am playing so many different casino games and bet on sport game as well. My best game where I make the most money is poker, for years now I haven't deposited any money and only withdraw whenever my bankroll grows enough. I made two big withdrawals and added the profit to my bitcoin wallet. In 2022 I lost money with sports betting, but managed to get a 100 USD voucher for the Worldcup, so in terms of losing my own money it wasn't so bad after all. The same goes with gambling at new casinos, due to first deposit bonuses I always start with much more money than I actually deposited. Its a bit hard to keep track over a longer period of time with multiple casinos. What I do know is that I didn't make a big loss in 2022, so overall I am more or less breaking even. My luck would be around 25% probably, I wasn't lucky enough to make a bit profit but I was lucky enough to avoid a big loss.

There is only one measurement for luck , it is 50%. Because you can have only two outcomes, successful and unsuccessful. It is either win or lose, either achieve or not, yes or no. I dont understand how can you people measure all those 5-90% ? It is sort of a answering maybe or perhaps, when there are only yes or no option. Theoretically, there might be a 0% luck chance, but such person must either did not participate or do anything, or just dead.
Maybe the measure of luck could be lower than that percentage value because it is never easy to win some money from gambling and we have to be aware of that. If you look at the percentage, only a few can reach above 50% or even 50%, while the others will be below 50%. Some of us can earn a very small percentage, like me, who could not reach 10% from the beginning to the end of the year even though I had won several matches. But I'm sure luck will come one day but it's not worth it if we play gambling every day and spend a lot of money.

Last year was not easy for me. Had some ups and downs in life and some things changed for the worst. Even so, wehn it comes to gambling cant say I was unlucky as I did got some beautiful earnings that pretty much wrecked the losses. So, I do believe that my luck was around 65Percent or so.

In year 2022 my office luck was like %90. Honestly it was one of my best years as I proved myself in job and had good friendships. Made many meetings etc. My financial life was like %40 I suppose. I wasnt lucky with my bets in general. I sometimes won but generally through lower odds in Turkish super league betting. I wish I was more lucky with crypto tho. Bitcoin had mediocre year, only gave couple opportunities to me. But my bank account felt safe in general, I didnt experience terrible loses.

In general, this is a topic about luck in gambling - this is directly written in the first message (but I'm glad that everything is fine with you). As for work/friendship/financial affairs, of course there is a place for chance here, but at such a distance as a year, most of it depends on the conscious decisions of a person and not on luck.

I cannot rate mine exactly because I only play nowadays to have fun meaning I only use money with very little comparing to my previous day of gambling that I use more time and money.

5% luck i guess? because there are only very few that I remember winning but totality are losses but enjoyable lol.

either sports betting or other form of gambling? same stage and losing is what i got .

My luck would probably be lower than 20% Cheesy All my gambling sessions I have just spent money and never really recoup anything back. Even in sports betting wherein I think the events are an easy win for my pick, it'll just go against my bet and bam! Easy lose with juicy odds. That's why I never shared my pick until now that I have shifted my focus in sports betting and I have more time to analyze statistics and my bet. Right now I'm up in my bankroll and doing good so far in my NBA picks. Hopefully it carries over throughout the whole 2023 though.
I am pretty average when it comes to my luck, and that is because I do not really like to increase the amount I bet as you are forced to do if you use the martingale strategy, so my losses tend to follow the house edge of the casino, however that does not mean that I do not get the occasional bad session and when that is the case I prefer to cut my session short, as it does not feel right to have a session in which you cannot catch a break and you keep losing over and over again

I was not so lucky last year, and I am just breaking even with my gambling funds. Maybe, I would lose 55% of the time I gamble. I think that is still a good performance considering how low the percentage others are posting.

I will try to do better next year and rely less on luck. I will bet mostly on sports so it will be less relying on luck and more on stats and knowledge of the game.

12-15% this year  rating for myself , had spent at least 3k usd in my gambling last year( all my budget had been tallied by my wife and this is how we have a deal letting me to gamble) with that 3k I estimated that have only won 400 dollars and another hundred(those are the biggest and others are just small petty wins) so rating 15% from all my wager is something that out come.

That is a lot of money. I hope you have enjoyed betting because if not, that money would have lost for nothing.

For me it is really just fine even im on the losing side in year 2022 because i do know and have that in mind that it is really just intended for my gambling and wont re ally be
going past beyond limits. If you do have this kind of mindset and be mindful about your actions then you wouldnt really be finding any problems in regarding to that.
In my case then 20% luck for year 2022 is not surprising.

That is the right attitude. You should never gamble the money you cannot afford to lose. So even if you have a very low batting average, it will not matter to you because that money is only for your entertainment.

My luck at the end of year was really good. What I lost got compensated with a prediction game that doesn't require any particular amount to be placed as bet. If I haven't won the prediction pool, my betting win percentage could've been in the negative side. Happy I was able to have my gambling stats positive.
wow that is a great return mate , congratulations and this is best gift received from this whole year of losing .

That's the reason for those gamblers who are just not considering their loss as important. You guys are considering gambling just for fun but didn't realize how much you spend and lose already in total with that kind of mindset. It's more fun to win than to lose and stop with this gambling for fun because for sure, those with that mindset end up being regret every time they lose. Smiley

Maybe the reason also why your luck is not that high as you consider gambling a joke.
Gambling for some rich people is indeed used for fun because they are confused about where to spend the money, whereas if you are not a group of rich people then you will regret it when you lose at gambling and lose a lot of money which eventually makes you poor, therefore if If you want to enter a gambling place, you have to be careful.
