At the moment there's a strong push and pull between whether BTC is rising or falling and how altcoins perform. E.g. "It's a Bitcoin market, or it's a Altcoin market."

In my opinion and with experience, Many Alts follow the BTC trend slightly and not sharply. However, few Alts tends to fall when there demands decreases just for BTC effect.

Or will they feed off of Bitcoin's carcass and take off?

if you look at the trend since the beginning whenever Bitcoin crashes all the altcoins follow so if ever Bitcoin dies altcoins will follow, but we are looking forward to have one coin that is much better than Bitcoin could that be Ethereum.?

There is no bubble in bitcoin as if a bubble there then bitcoin never recover so fast from a low of nearly 6500$. There is huge volatility in whole crypto market and same happening in bitcoin and it is a normal happening in any money market.

It is likely that everything in a blockchain will fail, unless there is commercial adoption of smart contract technology. Ethereum and NEO might continue as they have real world use. Bitcoin is just a store of value so really it's just a coin. Wagerr does decentralised anonymous betting and could go mainstream, these type of alts may survive if widely adopted.

Dump it!!!
Or will they feed off of Bitcoin's carcass and take off?
As much as I understand this Bitcoin altcoin relationship

I think most of the times when the bitcoin bubble pops alts do burst too but not in the same proportion as this depends on how strong or weak its market is.

My answer is in the affirmative. All the other coins have been developed on the basis of bitcoin. If the bitcoin bubble bursts, the other coins will fall, which is inevitable.

If the bitcoin failed, so I think other altcoin all will fail, so the Cryptocurrency markets dead body are everywhere, it is a very terrible thing, all the tokens will disappear, it will become a joke in the Cryptocurrency markets..

If it ever pops that is...

I think people wold be too scared by the FUD to start investing in the altcoins, so, they'd probably fall drastically too. And potentially recover later.

I don't see a reason why BTC would have to pop to be honest. Steady and organic growth will lead to establishment. But, if it pops, alts will bleed heavily but not for a prolonged amount of time in my opinion. They will recover, as they have always done.

I think if bitcoin will be pop just like buble. Altcoin will also die. Because in my observation altcoin follow bitcoin. Because when bitcoin rise altcoin will also rise and when down altcoin will follow. But its my opinion.

I would say that all the coins have a high degree of correlation. If BTC or ETH tanks, the rest of the coins go with it.

I think if bitcoin bubble pops , altcoins and a whole market will do the same . Bitcoin is a face of crypto and if btc will loss reputation and will worth nothing no one will invest or buy another cryptocurrency . Money will leave crypto for a very long time , or even forever .

I believe if bitcoin price increase, some of the altcoin will going to down although its not for all of the altcoin. there will be a coin that still survives when bitcoin price increase and will stay at the market. and for the other altcoin which is down, I think we can make a buy order for the coin so we can have more amount in our balance and wait for the increase in the price. I think we have to see this at any time and not just at this moment because right now, bitcoin price still going to go up and down too often.

If we consider BTC as bubble which suddenly pops, it would definitely have effects on altcoins. From what I understand, altcoins were basically derived from BTC and these altcoins are also being used in trading. In recent months, we witnessed BTC price drops which affected other altcoins, too.

Or will they feed off of Bitcoin's carcass and take off?

95+% will bust too for sure. Alts are always follow BTC in it's rise and fall.
This is the reason why you should never invest or keep in crypto currencies more than you can afford to lose.

I agree with this.  Crypto investment should be a part of a broad and diversified investment strategy.  Within altcoins, check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has existing traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.

the question is are atl dependent on bitcoin ? if this question is answered then u have got an answer

I think more or less they are. Which is why we saw growth in other coins when btc broke $10k.

If Bitcoin does pop I do thing altcoins would fall for a bit. However, I don't think the whole altcoin market will crash. I do think coins such as Litecoin and/or Ethereum will take the place of Bitcoin accordingly. We are starting to see this with how other coins are taking the place of Bitcoin because of its high fees.

They probably wouldn't crash but fall considerably.

For me this years become the year of altcoin. And altought bitcoin price are down, some altcoin like ETHREUM dont get impact with that. Many people maybe change their interest with altcoin right now.
