Peercoin. LTC is probably gonna go big in 2014, but at 10x the current price of PPC, you may do better off with PPC. There's going to be almost 10 million more LTC made by the end of 2014, whereas there will only be about 3 million more PPC. Even if you do go mostly in LTC, grab some PPC, this will be it's breakout year as well.

Also, PPC's presence is still relatively unknown in China. It has SO much potential to grow.

CGB sounds very appealing and has increased a lot in the past couple days. Goldcoin kind of smells of pump n dump but the name is nice  Cool

Think im still going to invest in some Devcoins just cause of the very low price.

The one "coin" that has increased like 200% is BitBar, and i have no idea what that is.

Yuck, Bitbar  Tongue

It has a negative history from what I've read.

Bitbar had a big pre-mine and is perhaps to rare.

Devcoins are OK, but if you want the best chance for a good % increase on your $100 bucks then right now I'll stick with suggesting GCB.

Which one has the best potential to reach $1 in the span of a year?

Once again im torn with Devcoins, since theyre basically a reward system coin for completing programming tasks and such? Bitcoins already do that though, unless Devcoins have a certain innovation..

I'd go with CryptogenicBullion. If your not mining then at least you can get some PoS (Proof-of-Stake) interest, while your waiting for the price to rise.

Rarity and Scarcity being your best option.

Sorry I do not see Devcoins ever beating out the other top 5. It seems like most people lost interest in it. Any development potential in it seems very abstract and not likely to produce something.

Best contender is CGB, and PPC. Maybe NameCoin.

WorldCoin has some fundamental negative issues, as does GoldCoin.

Why is nobody talking about Emunie. That'll be the future!

I thought today was the launch.

I went to their website http://emunie.com/

And nothing. And the download link doesn't work.  Huh

LOL! me too. It looks like it launched in late June then lost support. Not much action on their forums, the ANN post here is only 35 pages long. Not much happening with eMunie. I didn't even check to see if I can mine it or not. Another one bytes the dust?

What about Protoshares? They seem to have taken off from day 1. For $100.00 you can get about 10 of them.

eMunie is still very alive and well, and in active development.....but today wasn't the launch of it :S

Ignore the state of the current website, it's being overhauled at the moment, plus we are moving servers and updating a lot of content all over in preparation for the launch in JAN 2014 Smiley

There will be some official announcements this week regarding current status and various other interesting news.

I personally think that YaCoin is the next undervalued cryptocurrency. The scrypt jane is very interesting PoW/PoS and now with the latest N factor change GPU mining is very close vs CPU mining.

The cryptocoin watcher
FRC, DVC, YAC. If there was a sudden interest into Litecoin-type coins people would just get Litecoin. Also forget it if it's already on BTC-e.

What do those coins have over the competition?

FRC and DVC have allegedly a philanthropic purpose of sorts backing them, so for anyone who wants to try cryptos without the 'bad rep' those are there. I.e. if someone wants to bring a crypto guy to a media interview they would likely pick someone from Devcoin.

YAC is fast, ASIC/51% proof coin, with advanced algorithms and a 5% year interest, which makes it all round nicer for spenders and savers. It's also well distributed (the early big accounts have been basically inflated away), and will save energy in the long run due to PoW hashing being progressively harder. Basically is the peak of pure cryptohashing coin development, after that you have to start looking into hybrid coins like Primecoin.

I just wanted to get a clear cut opinion. What about coins such as DigitalCoin, BBQCoin (quirky name might make it decent), CryptoBullion, Devcoin

DevCoin is one of the usefull coins outa there. Definitively could rise a lot with time

You can get DeVCoin at probably its lowest price ever or thereabouts right now, and unlike those others you mentioned it is not one of the recent endless stream of scamcoins.

Are any of the others you mentioned even securable blockchains at all, or just scrypt etc waiting for miners to gangbang and/or 51% them?

-MarkM-

Why Devcoin though? Bitcoin can probably do the job of Devcoin just fine in the future.

CryptoGenicBullion CGB
PeerCoin PPC

These will be busting through the $5 mark very soon!

CGB does seem like a good investment considering BTC will skyrocket. Been looking at PPC as well.
