I see what op did there. He was under the impression that if something is robotic it will be 'humanly robotic'. It will be an AI who will just be acting like a human. And that is root of all misunderstanding here. Robots - (of course we are assuming they will be programed in ideal way, not to resemble and emulate humans) would probably won't be needing any sort of currency in the way we know and use it. Currency is something we humans come up with because we are just greedy bastards.

Robot do not need money, they are not greedy like human, they can create anything by themselves

Actually I fail to understand robots needing literally anything. I'll never grasp the concept of true robot IA. What would be their motives, unless they are scripted?

What book are you talking about? I think I've read this and was wondering a similar thing a while back but never asked it.

The singularity is near by Ray Kurzweil..

Of course I would choose Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency that is very sophisticated, safe, fast and decentralized. I think it is very suitable for Robots

I am a big advocate of the 'singularity' described by Ray Kurzweil.  In his book he describes a future where artificial intelligence is not only part of your daily routine, but also your biology.

I have been thinking a lot about this and wonder if these new AI beings would accept traditional currencies or would only 'trust' the reliability of the blockchain.

What do you think?

I agree we will one day be part robot, i guess since we are still part organic this will influence our decisions.  I think everyone would make decisions like we do now just better and faster.  So currently the choice would be bitcoin.

If I were an AI Robot and developed enough intelligence to understand the basics about currencies, material etc. and how world works. Than I won't be interested in accepting any currencies, I'd first find a way to eliminate all the Human Race.

Because as we know.. Grin

they would not accept any coins, the transactions will be made via mechanical brain, using radio waves or other forms for long comunication

screw singularity. I prefer individuality.

And obviously it would use whatever currency is actually generally accepted.

It might not be exactly what you are talking about, but I've heard suggestion that the Internet of Things and Bitcoin could go hand in hand. Here's a potential use case:

Your refrigerator realizes that you are out of milk, eggs, steak, and something else. It compiles a list and emails you to let you know. You approve the purchase and the refrigerator transfers bitcoin to the grocery store that then delivers those ingredients (in a self driving truck!) to you. The refrigerator handled inventory, payment, and fulfillment.

The internet of things would use blockchain technology, not necessarily bitcoin. I'm guessing they would build a single purpose blockchain with special token that only power the IoT. Bitcoin is too riddled with problems. Imagine if someone hacked your wallet and now your fridge wont work, or worse, they order 50k$ worth of filet mignon to themselves and charge you for it. It would make more sense to me that they would create a crypto-token that is stricktly built for IoT and has no value on its own and would therefore not get stolen.

As for AI, its an exciting concept, but much like teleportation... they can actually do it, but only for tiny bits of digital information so far. Its a long way off till we can "beam me up, Scotty" but that doesn't make for interesting headlines, does it? More exciting to say "Robots are thinking for themselves and are poised to take over the world!" Honestly, the future isn't as fantastic as they keep promising, they don't even have real hover-boards yet, ffs.

Just because something appears in a science fiction does not ensure it will become reality, as sad as that is to hear. sorry guys, no zombie apocalypse this year.

Creating an AGI(artifical general intelligence) is not that far off. It's much cheaper to do(Mostly software based) compared to creating hardware constructs such as a "teleportation machine", and thus faster to actually make the end product.

We've already created artificial membranes(just like biological cells but made with different substances) and have complex algorithms that allow for "learning". The only thing that we have to wait on to successfully create an AGI is moores law.

An AGI(Articial General Intelligence) and/or ASI(Artificial Super Intelligence) would most definitely only accept currency based on unbreakable math. Fiat currencies would be entirely useless as it's backed by flawed government guidelines.

Mathematical currencies are the future.

I'm pretty sure that is the Digibyte robot. Lol.
See below picture...
Maybe this A.I. might be using bitcoin, but was made self aware from digibyte.  Tongue

No, you're both wrong. It's the robot from R2D2coin. Here you can see him working with R2-D2 on new features:

Seriously, though, it's just a stock image, and getting back on topic, Bitcoin is the only one that makes sense to use, considering all the adoption it already has compared to the altcoins.

Maybe they would just accept knowledge transfers to learn from each other. Knowledge becomes currency. You have something I want, let me teach you this in exchange.

If we all have some AI inside us in this future world Bitcoin would become very stable.
I'd have nothing against using a stable and safe currency, the Bitcoin of the future Smiley

I would accept BTC, because it is the strongest computing network on the planet, and the rest are cheap ripoffs.
I'd go Doge coin for this same reasoning. Wink

I kid, I kid...

But seriously, all jokes aside you're asking on the Bitcoin enthusiast forum. Of course we are all going to say BTCitcoin  Cool
