I refresh this thread because such a generous behavior should not be forgotten!

Donating to charity is best thing one can do. No matter how much you contribute, every single penny counts. Today there are 7.5 billion people on this planet. If half of these donate 2$ every month we have enough funds to eliminate poverty in a year.

wow, i never knew there are already bitgive foundation, if they really exist, i admire them for having a big heart in helping others thru the use of bitcoin, i hope you are honest to your intention in posting this, not for the sake of having a merit piled up on your profile for this wonderful words of admiration. if this is true be rest assure i will support this, and even repost this, or gather different organizations that cater also the needy. if i become rich someday, put me on your list of philanthropist.

Yes they are a great organization and have been around for several years.  They have a great initiative that they launched last year and it seems to have progressed a good deal since that beta release called GiveTrack.  It reminds me of Kiva if you're familiar with that service, but seems to be more transparent and accountable to donors.  You should check it out: https://www.givetrack.org/

The website of the foundation is: https://bitgivefoundation.org/, they have a wealth of information about cryptocurrency and charitable giving.

Best regards,

Hi All,

I just wrote an article on Medium about the Pineapple Fund and their two match commitments that they've announced between now and March 10, 2018.  It's a great opportunity for your cryptocurrency donation to go further and support some great causes!

Check it out:

Hi

there is this greatest (in terms of media coverage, fund raising capability, and recognition, and also in terms of the good they do) charity in Poland which is called Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Orchestry of Christmas Charity). It seems that the event for last year is already over, but they accept bitcoin and I have learnt about it only now.

I highly recommend it for your consideration next year. OR, you might want to contact Jerzy Owsiak, he is a very recognized person in Poland, and support his fundation mid-year.

They do a lot of good stuff for sick kids in Poland, providing public hospitals with very expensive equipment for newborns and supporting health-care and life support for the newborns with their funds.

Thanks!

Congratulations for managing this campaign. Of course most of us don't have the amount you have but I'm pretty sure many others follow the logic of charity work once they start to get something...

Please consider creating many happy children by donating to LOSEV.

I think their website (English version) has issues with Adobe Flash player. You can contact them by visiting following page:

What a wonderful gesture. Thank you very much for your kindness. I am pretty sure the communities you are donating to will forever be grateful. Its good to see someone taking the BTC profits towards a charitable cause. Unfortunately i doubt many will even acknowledge the good you are doing because we have become a community that cares only about themselves.

Hello!

I remember starting at bitcoin a few years ago. When bitcoin broke single digits for the first time, I thought that was a triumphant moment for bitcoin. I watched and admired the price jump to $15.. $20.. $30.. wow!

Today, I see $17,539 per BTC. I still don't believe reality sometimes. Bitcoin has changed my life, and I have far more money than I can ever spend. My aims, goals, and motivations in life have nothing to do with having XX million or being the mega rich. So I'm doing something else: donating the majority of my bitcoins to charitable causes. I'm calling it The Pineapple Fund.

So far, The Pineapple Fund has/is:

* Donated $1 million to Watsi, an impressively innovative charity building technology to finance universal healthcare.

* Donated $1 million to The Water Project, a charity providing sustainable water projects to suffering communities in Africa

* Donating $1 million to the EFF, defending rights and privacy of internet users, fighting for net neutrality, and far far more

* Donated $500k to BitGive Foundation, a charity building projects that leverage bitcoin and blockchain technology for global philanthropy.

If you know a registered nonprofit charity, please encourage them to apply on the fund's website! While I prefer supporting registered charities, I am open to supporting charitable causes as well. Check out the website Smiley

You are one of the lucky ones. I wish I would've found out about Crypto when Bitcoin came out. But how? It's hard to hear about new things when they are new. Once they are in media, everybody knows about it and the competition grows.

Wow this is absolutely amazing what you are doing. I started reading with scepticism but then I opened your webpage and the links you provide. Wow, what may I say? You are a good man and I wish you all the best. Do you donate only bitcoin or do you consider donating regular money after it has been exchanged? Do you support US only charities or other in the world as well?
