I've chosen to hold 10 ETH. The idea, the whole project, I want to support it. I also hope I'm not the only one.
well no you're not the only one. every coin i happen like and enjoy i'll buy a pocket-full, just for keepsake.
Eth is definitely on that list!

in my opinion holding ETH is not a good idea, i find it super scary there is just a lot of it avilable (nearly 80 milluon ETH) and there is a big possibility of big dump which can crash the price

Maybe you should stop investing if you get emotional about it

For the past 6 weeks, I guess I've been buying and selling ETH more than 20 times. Each time with a profit. Last time I've bought, I paid 0.029 and I had the opportunity to sell with a profit, which I did, but I've chosen to hold 10 ETH. I won't sell them no matter how down the price may go. I'm doing that because I want Ethereum to be more than pump and dump. The idea, the whole project, I want to support it. It is a great project. The currency may go down, but I sincerely hope the big project behind will be successful. I also hope I'm not the only one.

You Long and shorted the hell out of that asset draining the literal soul from it. Now your holding a whopping 10. No offence intended but you and your ilk are part of a big problem in crypto. All you needed to do was calm down and ETH would have been above $20 by now, and it had a very strong possibility of reaching way above that. The truth is you didn't support the coin at all. You supported your greed. Still, I have a strong hunch its not over,  far from it.  Shocked

The greed of a trader really makes the price go down as they only want profit for them and not seeing that the price is gradually going down and down.
Well im not into ETH but all coins have the same provability.

If you held for so long, congratulations.
But things are shaking out there, better to ensure part of the investment and buy back more in the inversion.

it's about fricken time someone posted a thread in the altcoin section about Ethereum!

Yes, there are many topics already, but they're all negative, so I decided to start a positive one. There are good things in Ethereum. It's a great idea, and I'm betting on its success sometimes in the future. Actually, I may even start something with it if OpenBazaar doesn't grow as fast as planned.

You an idiot for doing that because ETH is doomed for failure.
AND.. NOW this is another Negative topic too Wink

Has it occurred to you to wonder.. WHY
those other topics were negative ?

By the way prove it..
2nd of all prove it again on a regular basis
3rd supporting a scam with money does not make a coin legit.. it's still a scam.
NOW backed by YOU.
Do you have anything else to do with your life apart from going from topic to topic being an a**hole to everyone who posts and just posting baseless FUD on coins you know nothing about?

I hold ethereum too, by the way. I'd actually be happier/better off if ethereum takes over the globe vs Bitcoin.

Well yeah i hope they're not just like some other coins that come and go and buried forever. Diversity is a good thing.
They've put so much effort to hype the coin, they should at least have the decency continue its development.  And i mean they've profit a lot so they might as well give it a go and help it mature.
TBH that is the only hope any of the holders or investors have and i do think that many of them will be interested when it turns POS anytime in future(a year maybe).

The decency will be maintained until the noobs are getting in it and they might take it to some high value to get out slowly or something else but it is not a short term pump and dump at least.Holding might not be a bad idea.

I recently sold my ETH, but maybe I will buy it again and hold it, because I am very happy to trade with ETH, it makes me really profit  Smiley

Ethereum is smart contracts...

Which I have explained in the Ethereum Paradox thread have no use cases that work technically.

For example, Slock and Augur won't work technically.

The details are all there for those who don't want to drink the Dapp Koolaid.
Have you write something about Bitshares?

Yes. Search the Ethereum Paradox thread for "BitUSD". Or maybe it was in the "POLL" thread for which coins are scams.

Btw, proof-of-stake will never scale out user adoption, because it is a vested interest paradigm, and thus will be destroyed by its stake holders. No stake holder (in any context or business model) allows a competitor to profit. Only permissionless, decentralized systems scale.

Ethereum has never been a storage of value but solely a medium to enforce smart contracts. In that context, I don't understand how Ethereum's value is justified.

There are many things I love about Ethereum but I am still hesitant to invest in ETH.  98% of volume went through Poloniex on the initial pump.  Has anyone been watching Poloniex lately? It resembles more of a crypto gambling site than an exchange.  Pretty much all coins with little outside volume have been pumped and dumped multiple times and no one finds that odd???

The most frustrating thing about this whole ETH craze... just because the ETH hype has raised it's market cap ahead of Ripple XRP and closer to BTC people seem to think Ripple and Bitcoin are dying and Ethereum is going to take over the world. This is not true because they have totally different utilities.

BTC had the best initial distribution - I would say it's use in the future is limited to large purchases or investors looking to hold something other than their fiat very similar to gold.

XRP is taking the top down approach and will be the best bridge currency for cross-boarder transactions and banks trading outside of their permissioned networks.

Ethereum is smart contracts...

Many people are holding more then 10K in eth. It went from pennies to 15$

I'll wait for someone to identify themselves. So I know whom I am explaining to. I don't want to waste my time arguing with people who only have their lunch money invested.

I want to know who here has more than $10,000 in ETH now?

If you identify yourself, I will take the time to explain why you are holding a technological lie.

I won't waste my time trying to explain for these idiots who drank the Dapp Koolaid and thus have their lunch money invested in a technology they do not understand why it can't function and why Vitalik and Vlad and their development team are inexperienced and incompetent (except quite competent at taking money from fools).
