I've read a lot of posts like this about people doing similar things in the past. It's definitely a thoughtful gift for your young nephew, especially if he gets fond of blockchain or technology in general  in the future. Go for it! Just remember to have protection for the paper. Probably laminating it yourself would be good enough for a little bit of water-proofness.

And also, make sure you know how to make a paper wallet securely. You definitely wouldn't want your 18 year old nephew in the future scanning the QR Code and realizing that the BTC was moved out a decade ago, by someone that's not you.

You have a good vision with your nephew because you are thinking of her future. Now you just have to be complacent because if you give it that's really not going to be lost and it's okay. It's been a long time since it was once used to discover that bitcoin would be fun. But it would be nice if you just have a copy just incase to lose it and make sure you do not use it at the time of your squeeze because you've shared it with your nephew.

Thanks for your advices, I really want to do it thinking on how happy I wolud be if somebody have done something similar for me 6-7 years ago o.o
Do you think 0.01 BTC it's enough? I really can't imagine how much could it value from 15 years to now

Hey. You're only 22. and you just said that 0.01BTC is the best you could give right now, so there's definitely nothing wrong with it. That's still a decent amount right now that could be significantly more expensive in the future, since that 0.01BTC is going to sit for more or less 14 years. That's a pretty long time. That 0.01BTC could be worth multiple digits in the future(or worth almost nothing, depending on how BTC goes).

0.01 bitcoin is not good amount I think because even the price of the bitcoin increase very high he can get only some profit. And possible to bitcoin after few years become very low the price of the bitcoin or become die.

Nice and what a very generous uncle you are. He may not be aware of what bitcoin is today but after the right time, he'll value it more than what he has soon.

P.S. To avoid losing this btc, you should create kinda back-up procedure.
Yes, although you have given it to your nephew still create a back up for yourself so if ever it was accidentally lost you can recover it easily with your back up.

Execute what you are thinking, everyone's agreeing with you.

it's a good thing, but a 4 year old kid does not understand the currency, and you must give it when your nephew is 18 years old, so if you make a transaction on paper now, that's not a good idea. I am afraid the paper will disappearing or broken.

so, you better give him a safe wallet and then fill it with BTC.

It is a very precious act to gift a bit of Bitcoin to your nephew. It can be an example to many crypto investors. When your nephew grow up, it will be great to know that you thought of future.

That's the max that I can afford at the moment (I'm 22) but I want to save it on a wllet of paper and give it to my sister telling her to keep it safe and that we will give it to him when he is 18 years old. Do you think is a nice idea? Cheesy
Being young that you are and unselfishly thinking about the welfare of your nephew is quite admirable. Thinking about blessing others before oneself attracts more blessings upon you so that you can bless more people. Paying it forward does work! Because of this attitude, great things are coming to you.

Just add a little bit from it like giving him 0.02 BTC instead of 0.01 BTC. At the very least, I can say that it will either be worth ten times more or greater than it's worth now or it will be worthless in the future because of unforeseen factors. Either way, just the thought of it being planned now will surely make your nephew happy when he becomes 18 years old in the future.

You have a generous heart. That is one of a good deeds that a better person like you can do for his nephew. And since your nephew is too young to understand the bitcoin much better to keep it safe and back up it for security until your nephew was in a right age to use and understand bitcoin.

I suggest to make a backup copy of the paper wallet and store it yourself in case the gifted wallet will get lost in the future. There was a thread about this on reddit and in turns out a lot of people who received paper wallets as a gift or a tip in early years have lost them because they didn't even think that someday it can be worth a lot. And then one guy told his story how he made a copies of the wallets that he gifted to his family, and when most of the members told him that they have lost them, he surprised them with copies.

Its a nice gesture, but isn't almost as if you just throw all of that money away since the kids won't use the coins in the market for multiplication?

I think it is the best gift for your nephew. I was planning to do it to my younger sister. I wanted to give her the same amount of Bitcoin, if she passed the medical admission exam. I think after one year 0.1 BTC Price will be pretty good. We are now a permanent crypto member, we should use the crypto-coin in our practical life even between family. My parents don't know how can I earn money, But I will give them money and will tell them the truth. So, you took a great decision, and your nephew will be very happy when she will know about the value of 0.1 BTC. By seeing you i am again encouraged to do it. By the way, you should take care of that money in a secure wallet or in a paper.

It's great. In my opinion every one who know cryptocurrencies, should hold some amounts of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies for future. That might not worth much today. But it can be very valuable in the future. You are make this great investment for him. He will be thankful to you in the future.

You could do that since 0.01 btc is quite affordable right now. So if something happens, you wouldn't losing much to be honest. But do keep in mind that you will need to securely create that wallet and make sure nothing damages the paper wallet. Better to make some other sorts of backup just in case. And if everything goes fine, i guess the 0.01 btc will worth a lot in 15 years.
