Exodus maybe isn't worst option from all wallets, but as others already said, even though it's not custodial wallet, it's not open source. I wouldn't use it to store large amounts.
Main question - do you really hold that many altcoins that you need multi coin wallet? Maybe it would be better and safer to download wallet for each coin that you use. Yeah, I know it's not that much convenient.
In past Coinomi was not bad mult coin wallet, but I haven't used it for a while, so, don't know their current situation.

I don't recommend Exodus for all your coins. You have to be diverse when it comes to keeping your coins Exodus is not open source, and there are accusations of partnering with scam exchanges, and they are not dealing with it properly.
Keep your coins in other non-custodial wallets. Don't trust only one wallet; follow the best practice of using a hardware wallet.
Make sure that you download the wallet from their official homepage.

You want to avoid dealing with any Centralized exchange as much as you can then you should use a wallet that support buying your desired coins through card payment or swap functions. I will recommend Bitpay  wallet because it supports both buying through card payment and you can make withdrawal to your local currency from there.

Also, what if the altcoin you wish to purchase is not listed in a DEX how would you get it? This means you have only two options. Its either you make another choice of altcoin to invest or you buy through the CEX first then store it in your wallet. Thus you wont do without the CEX you hated so much.
I agree that it is best to avoid centralized exchanges CEXs whenever possible. To do this it is important to use wallet that allows you to buy your desired coins through card payments or swap functions. And you mentioned Bitpay wallet so it is great option as it supports both card payments and withdrawals to your local currency.
And here you explained really what happens when altcoin you want to purchase is not listed on decentralized exchange DEX? You're left with two options either choose a different altcoin or bite bullet and use CEX to buy the coin then transfer it to your wallet. Unfortunately this means that CEXs are sometimes unavoidable even if you prefer to avoid them. We always need them. After all we can say that both options are compulsory means wallet is important to secure the funds and CEXs are compulsory to buy crypto which we want and not listed anywhere.

SO If i want to exchange my usdt or main coins like btc diretly in the wallet without dealing with exchangers like binance ?
There's no wallet like that, wallet with "built-in exchanges" are just using fancy words as you still need to transfer it with transaction fee to the exchange, thus most "built-in instant exchanges" have hidden/huge fees and usually occur issues than exchanges like binance.

Well, most multi wallet have "built-in" features, open-source wallets like unstoppable and metamask wallet.

Ok i can use browser extension inside the wallet as dex i guess that's good enough Smiley
Use Metamask instead and just do it when you're trying to connect to DEXes or Dapps that you like to do. Don't connect entirely to your main wallet for the usage of those dapps. You're free to use browser extension wallets like Metamask but always use an extra wallet for your transactions there. It is for your safety purposes that you don't connect the wallet that you use mostly for storing all of your assets. Many did committed that mistake of connecting their wallet to random Dapps they think are safe but then, they've been swept - all of their money.

For security reasons you should not be using a hot wallet with extensions to keep the bulk of your holdings. You should have an offline wallet for cold storage for the large percentage of your assets then your other wallet which allows you utilize features you are interested in holding smaller amounts.

I'll recommend you go with the wallet listed by @ Nwada001 that's the unstoppable and metamask. But you have to be security cautious with those wallets. Though they are safe for storing your altcoins, but for Bitcoin I'll recommend you use Bitcoin standard wallets to avoid having your BTC compromised in the mist of having being linked with other coins.Electrum is safe for Bitcoins and open source to be precise. So I'll recommend you also use electrum for your Bitcoins as well. What ever you choose to use, avoid linking your wallet to online websites so you don't get your coins wiped or hacked.

Exodus isn't open source.

Generally, it's pretty difficult to find a one-wallet-supports-all wallet. You're likely just going to end up downloading separate wallet apps(MetaMask for Ethereum/EVM, SolFlare for Solana, etc etc); especially if you want to interact with DEXs and stuff.

Take note that you can use one backup on every chain anyway (as I do with my Ledger).

The safety of a wallet actually lies on how the wallet private key or seed phrase is been treated or stored. It is not necessary base on the wallet except on occasion that the wallet is a closed source. Base on that I will recommend wallets Like unstoppable wallet which is opened source.

The exodus definitely has a DApps that’s browser extension that you can use to check in on DEX but it doesn’t have its own personal exchange as you put it out

It's best if you have a separate wallet for bitcoin and a separate wallet for your altcoins.

And why look for good self-custody wallets? Also, look for ones that are open source, not just any wallet that claims to be self-custody.

For altcoins, I know of Unstoppable Wallet and Metamask; they are both open source.
For Bitcoin, you can go for Blue Wallet or Electrum. They are also open source and both mobile-compatible.

Mind you, the safety of each wallet is also dependent on how you carefully handle the security of the wallet.
