My name is Finbar, I'm a software developer. I'm enthusiastic about bitcoin, and I want to learn more on how the system operates. Got introduced by my friend, but still a little bit confused. But I believe within a year or two here, I'll be brushed up. Please I need little cooperation with you guys, to help me achieve this goal, Thanks.

As a software developer, you are ahead to understand the technical things of bitcoin. You could be passionate about bitcoin is you approach it from the technical aspect of it. Bitcoin is an open source protocol and I learnt it was written in C++ language. If you visit the technical board you may have to know how to download or run a node and begin to work in the back end of bitcoin. It will be an amazing experience for you and you will meet some passionate developers who are actively working in the bitcoin project. Welcome to the forum.

Since you are already a software dev, I don't think you will have a hard time catching real quick. For most of us without any technical knowledge, it was a bit confusing, but key is to have a open mind and be willing to learn.

Take note that understanding Bitcoin's technical stuff is just one(albeit hugely important) thing, while understanding Bitcoin in the context of markets and economics is a whole other beast.

Apart from the useful information provided by tranthidung, I would recommend you to visit the technical sections of the forum, because if you are a software developer you will not find it too difficult to understand what is discussed there (many people on the forum find it difficult) and you will see that there are much more serious discussions than in other sections.

Thank you so much for this useful links shown to me. I've gone through them thoroughly, and know I have cleared myself off the confusions I had before. I still have couple more questions, but I think it's best I put it in discussion, and as time goes on, I hope to relate well so far as bitcoin is concerned.

Thanks also to all that helped with little advice and useful tips for me too. I'm happy to be among this community, and I really appreciate your contributions..

Since you're a software developer I believe it will be easy for you to fit in and easily catch up with the system operation (which I believe you're relating the forum here).
The forum is welcoming to every new user and crypto-related business but the rules are not to be broken and that's the important area I believe you need to learn.
Welcome to the forum.

Yeah right, skill in coding plus technical knowledge on crypto which I doubt is the only OP need.
Technical knowledge is on the internet and it's everywhere that you can obtain since you already know about coding it's easy for you to understand and pursue your goal as a developer.

All information was given above, just have research on it, everything is on the internet and sometimes you need a Google search to answer your question or the best is since you're here in the forum, don't be shy to ask a question.  Glad to hear someone like you here in the community.

First of all Congratulation mate on finding your way to this community. Seeing that so many useful information have been given to you already, I will like to encourage you to take your time to read through the forum rules even as you learn from other members who have been here before you so that you don't go against the rules. Secondly, I will advise you to read more and ask questions about the things you don't understand instead of creating multiple threads as a newbie and don't forget to make proper research and findings before engaging in any form of transaction with anyone here, good luck.

Welcome to the forum, hope you would have a great time here.

It's great you have a learning span already, this would make it easier for you to adequately utilize the resources available to you here on the forum. It can be a little overwhelming, with the multiple links provided here (and more which would likely be added) and thousands of posts on the forum.
Understand that no one here knows everything, so take it a step at a time.

Find your interests and best ways to learn, then leverage on that. Good Luck.
