I get where you're coming from, as humorous as this fake KYC was, online anonymity is on it's way to die with all the recent regulations and whatnot.

I prioritize my privacy above this forum

And this is not because I am a criminal, but because I want to decide who has my personal details not be forced to give them

I miss the days BTC was truly a free market for everyone involved in it

April fools? Don't care, KYC is still an issue and this may soon become reality
I don't think that the KYC thing would really be for real in the future.
Relax I also fall for it I thought that it was real but I remember that it is April 1 happy April fool's day.
I think theymos would really implement a KYC because he is also supporting BTC,FREEDOM and ANONYMITY so relax don't take it seriously.

It is a reality as most of the exchanges ask for KYC. But I don't think that it will ever be implemented here in Bitcointalk. One of the major concerns Satoshi had in his mind while introducing Bitcoin was the anonymity of the users. And I believe this forum has to follow the rules set by Satoshi.

It doesn't surprise me that people believe that this is actually real.  Come on, the principles that bitcoin stands for have just been thrown out the window the very forum it originated on.  This was one of the few forum jokes I found quite funny though.
You should be happy that this forum have a sense of humor. Some forum seems to me like very boring and just reading texts all over again.

It's funny how many people really believed in this joke Smiley
I have to confess that at first I was shocked but than I realize what day is today.
I see that some people are afraid now that KYC request may become reality in the future but I don't agree.
It will be crazy that some open forum ever ask for something like this and I?m sure that many users will left forum in such case.

Lol. KYC got you triggered real good there dude. Obviously it was for april fools and was made for people like you haha. Forums like this won't ask for such information but for exchanges, i think it's quite necessary. Anyways, there's nothing we can do if they require it. There's always the option to not use that certain service.

Hold your horses down there bro, we might have to take a look at the calendar, and if the other members in the forum believed this and have given their data then I don't think there is a need to worry since the data that you've given will not probably be saved, if this wasn't an April Fool's joke then all the data that is needed there shouldn't even be necessary, just think about it.  Grin

Through this post, I came to know its an April Fool. I was shocked to see this KYC form and the information it was asking like criminal record, credit card no, etc. My first thought after seeing that KYC form is that my journey at bitcointalk.org is over.
I am glad its an april fool

don't do it if you are forced to do it. I don't understand about the forum today, right on January 1, KYC has been applied to its users. I am waiting tomorrow whether this KYC will be their silliness. Grin

Because today is Aprils day. Also me I don't like to pass my KYC to secure my Identity in online world. We know bitcointalk is very trusted but I want to still hidden my information for other security purposes. Maybe the other people won't agree to the KYC and the other will agree. Because KYC have good benefits but alsothey bad effects to us but the  purposes of KYC is a lot  to avoid scamming, multi account and anything.

yeah you can still comply but do not use your real identity. We know that this is April fools day and you were being a victim. Don't be so serious with it mind you that this not something you should do and comply.

Anyway, congrats to theymos he made you like a fool if i am correct. Theymos joke was effective.

Please, don't make us laugh. The whole KYC thing is just for fun and it's just an April fools special by our mods in this forum. Take a look at Darkstar_'s post.
It's fine, the data is only locally submitted:

So even if you are using your personal info(in which people who found out will not), it's not going to a crime or something.
