It is a very good decision. Wink

And this is not because I am a criminal, but because I want to decide who has my personal details not be forced to give them
No one in the right sense will provide all the personal details, but every business that wanted us to furnish those details are forcing those to us. Tongue

April fools? Don't care, KYC is still an issue and this may soon become reality
Are you talking about the MtGox days where everyone runs away with the money and even the exchanges, that is not a truly free market. Tongue
KYC in this forum for real, never in a million years.  Grin

i am wondering if there has been anyone who actually submitted stuff in that form thinking it is real Cheesy
i think there is no way of knowing it because the forum is not storing any of that data and just redirects to a new page linking to the trolling page for selfie submissions.

It's funny to see how everyone is totally terrified with KYC.

From what I see from your profile, you also didn't comply yet. Please make sure you pass the extra verification. Without that you are not really in the position to talk about this matter.

@OP: I suggest you start with this thread after you finished the morning coffee.

I think now there are so many rules at BitCointalk, and what are the benefits of KYC now, this will also make it difficult for beginners who want to learn more about the world of cryptocurrency at BitCointalk.

It's funny to see how everyone is totally terrified with KYC. Like someone is asking their blood or organs. They justify refusing KYC with their privacy and on the other hand they reveal everything and even more on social networks.
Anyway, wheteher is this a serious request or just april joke, I don't have anything against it.

It's not too much, they aren't even asking for blood samples.

Wink What day is today again? Smiley

Might want to look at the calendar before you get too upset.

This is a joke that may become reality very soon
What? Lmao. The whole point of the cryptocurrency market and this forum is the anonymity factor contributing to decentralization which is something that Theymos will never go against. Chill out and enjoy the joke!

I think theymos would not actually put a real KYC here in this forum so there's no need to fear.

yeah, its April fool. Take it easy. It seems you are taking it very seriously. Theymos is not a dumb guy he is not going to ask for KYC to users. However, if he does he know bitcointalk will lose their users. Joke is limited for fun.

Today it's a joke

Tomorrow is reality

Then you're cattle branded with a microchip

"Cattle branded with Microchip"

This was mostly science fiction at a time but is fast becoming a reaity. Corporations in their bid for profit and optimum use of "Human Resources" are going to apply these methods.
I once watched a Microsoft executive present their IoT solution for monitoring workforce and using Data Analytics on them. The idea was supposed to be implemented on the workforce in a huge container handling port. The proposed solution involved every worker wearing this radio-tag that would monitor and record their movements and upload coordinate data of every worker to a central server.

A manager could then analyse the data to determine work patterns of their crew by seeing how many and who deviated from the norm. The system would feed continuous coordinated of the crew. Voila..Forget about coffee breaks or going behind a container to smoke a few cigarettes with your fellows to relax..

The thing is that Govts and corporations are always looking for ways and means to ensure that the working class and middle class keep working their asses off for the elites. Banking regulations, Biometric records are just the beginning. Owning money that has inherent value and not because the Govt says it is the first step of ensuring that the masses always have a chance to fight back.

That is why we Bitcoin. Do You Bitcoin? Cool

There will be a day they will ask you to put a microchip under the skin if you don't stand up against the modern nanny state
