Hello!

I'd like to introduce you to an innovative project that's transforming the landscape of cryptocurrency mining - The CoolTank Project. We're pioneering advanced immersion cooling technology for optimal mining operations. Our flagship product, the CoolTank 75KW, offers unparalleled performance and reliability, significantly boosting mining profitability.

We've designed the CoolTank to effectively cool overclocked ASIC hashing boards and adapt to a wide range of environments. Our technology allows for a 40% overclock, leading to a substantial increase in mining profits.

We're currently hosting a crowdfunding event to build our pilot sample of the CoolTank 75KW. The most generous contributor will receive the pilot sample once testing is complete.

You can learn more about our project and see examples of our work at [CoolTank Case Studies](https://www.thecooltank.com/case-studies).

We're excited to be a part of your cryptocurrency journey. Welcome to the future of crypto mining. Welcome to The CoolTank.

update on this project, prep 6 1166 units and installed the pool, next step we go live

Any updates on how this is running and how reliable the hardware is?

You may also consider to reuse the heat in heating a swimming pool or even your home and therefore making even better protects with your mining. To me this system is perfect since I feel that bitcoin mining usually pushes above what is doable with air cooling in a living environment.

Hello everyone,

In my recent deep dive into crypto mining cooling solutions, I discovered The CoolTank Project. They're pioneering an immersion cooling technology that could potentially enhance mining profitability by enabling a 40% overclock.

Their products, CoolTank 75KW and the upcoming CoolTank 10KW, are designed to effectively cool overclocked ASIC hashing boards under diverse conditions. It's quite a fascinating development in the crypto mining sphere.

For those interested, you can find more about their project here: https://www.thecooltank.com/case-studies

Thought this might spark some interesting discussions in our community.

Hah, I'm a newbie to ASIC mining and I thought the Bitmain S17/T17 series was a good idea. I thought the price was good for the efficiency. Then I read some threads on this forum, and I discovered what an idiot I was! Better to go with the T19 or a 2 year old Whatsminer/Avalon machine.

I was also dumb for assuming that ASICs are as reliable as GPUs. Even the most reliable ASIC models seem to have failure rates of 5%+ per year. Compare that to 2-3% on GPUs.

Thanks for sharing your real-world experience.

project update,

after getting fed-up trying to sort the t17+s with messed up hashboards decided to sell them all and never buy t17 or anything from the 17 series ever again, managed to score some Avalons 1166 from a farm that closed down in China only 3 months used and still under warranty so I decided to immerse them instead

https://imgur.com/GiwPVjW

just received the Avalons, they run sweet with good hash rate and feels good to buy asics under warranty  Grin

would appreciate any recommendations for firmware upgrades for the 1166 for immersion and air-cooled

Meanwhile preparing the space where the pool goes and as soon as I have something that's worth watching will post some pictures.

many thanks

"boards have serial numbers and will not mix and match from different cases" that i thought that was the case lol  Shocked Grin

guess i have to trial and error to figure out now how to put everything together and what board goes to what miner...

 learning process all the way!!!

Hey!!, don't even worry about that, only the stock firmware cares about that, vnish doesn't read the voltage stored in the EEPROM and thus you can mix and match boards all you want, I tend to believe all other custom firmware do the same, I just don't have a good experience with them, but I know vnish works.

Obviously, since you will need to disable the fans and overclock the miner, you won't be using the stock firmware either way.

Also, you have got a loose heatsink shown in this image, you have to solder it back on, I highly doubt you can get away with no-heatsink even with Immersion cooling.

Thanks for keeping this topic updated.

thanks for advice, will upgrade firmware and see what happens!

Interesting setup with the pipes.
Are the pipes only for push the heat out or do you use it for heating your house or what ever.
Love that kind of topic…

Best regards from Germany

At the moment pipes only move air out but of course could be used for heating house also I guess

Very cool (pun intended).  I looked into immersion cooling a few years back but the solutions that were available were in the 6 figure price range.  Seeing these units at what I consider to be an affordable price point makes me happy.  I'm looking forward to hearing your experience as I would consider using something like this in my garage if it were possible, which it sounds like it is.  Having some GPUs in there with some ASICs would be a pretty awesome at home setup.  I've been hesitant to go this route as I worry it is what I don't know that will cause me problems, so I'm looking forward to learning more from you about the entire process from ordering, to setup, to maintaining everything.  Good luck!

Mikey Would like to know more about vnish, was thinking to overclock using asic.to
my plan is to take them all apart and wash everything really good with iso propylic alcohol before put them in the liquid

Asic.to is vnish too, see vnish has many distributions, they all are the same, the difference is what you get from using one of the different versions, asic.to has a great own support for the firmware, AwesomeMiner lets you pay the monitoring fees using those built-in firmware fees so you don't have to spend more on monitoring license.

So all in all, it all depends on what would you need the most out of these "extra features", but Vnish as a whole is a lot better than mskminer IMO.

as for uploading images, use something like https://imgur.com/ and post the link here.

awesome!  will look more into vnish thanks for the advice

this is a link of one of my current farms set-up and trial for image upload, this is the typical set-up i use at the moment and works really good

some s19pro lt5 and t17+ there, will take some of the t17+s from there to put in immersion and upgrade to s19,
if i am happy with imersion system will expand and use better asics for the job

thanks for the info!!

Nice video. How many units on each pipe?

Those pieces of gear push around 500 cfm each.

the feed to the main pipe looks to be big enough.

I am trying to figure if  the main pipe is big enough.
I am also looking to see if the main pipe has a pull fan on it.

Flex Duct Diameter:   CFM (Airflow)
4-inch   20 CFM
5-inch   50 CFM
6-inch   80 CFM
7-inch   120 CFM
8-inch   170 CFM
9-inch   230 CFM
10-inch   300 CFM

14-inch   740 CFM
16-inch   1050 CFM
18-inch   1400 CFM

I would think the big pipe can handle 4 to 6 units of gear max.

is 6 units each pipe with 250mm pipes and each line with separate exhausts not connected to each other
farm at basement and exhausts at ground level and current set-up moves nicely all the air needed as hot air moves up
when I first build this was thinking maybe use some type of extraction fan at the end of each pipe but was not needed as it works just fine as it is
also machines run cool all year round (and I live in a climate with hot summers)

Op, i would chose vnish (awesome miner) as that lets you use the monitoring software without extra cost, since you will be overclocking the miners, you need something like that.

Also, be careful with the PSU rating, some profiles on those custom firmware require a custom PSU, the solder on those gears is bad so make sure the fluid you use is of a very high quality.

Like willi i am also interested.

Cool topic, can you share some photos and a DIY story if you are finish.
How much cost your setup if you are finish and your Asic Miner are Running?

Best regards
Willi

Cost me around 7k Euro from DCX https://dcx.eu ,
would love to share some pictures, thing is tried but don't know how to this here
my plan is to use some beaten T17 that I have to experiment, trial and error and if everything works out ok switch to S19s
