Are there any changes in the config file with the new wallets?   And what happens on July 15, when the changes take effect?

Answer 1 - There should be no changes in your config file that you were using on the previous versions.  We are only showing two seed nodes at this time in our recommended config file.  So we plan on adding 3 more nodes over the weekend for long term stability of IPC and better connectivity.

Answer 2 - When we inserted DGW3 into our source code, it is a fork as to how our difficulty change is calculated and a potential impact to our miners.  In our minds it is a substantial improvement, solves a problem we have seen over the past few months and makes IPC so much better for the smaller miners.  So we decided to hold off rolling it in to operation for two weeks to give everyone a chance to get the new wallet.  When you load your new wallet now and move your wallet.dat file, you will see no change in the operation of your wallet. Both wallets operate the same today.  Right now, there are both old and new wallets on the network as people slowly change over.  On July 15, the old wallets will stop working or at best will not work very well and will have to upgraded to the new wallets to function properly.  Again, we were trying to give our users time to upgrade to the new wallets, rather than killing everyone's wallet the day we forked.  This would have been bad news for the 3 exchanges we have now and the new one who is loading our new source code as I write this. Hopefully, that answers your questions!   Thanks for your support of IPC!!!

As promised, we just finished compiling and uploading the new Linux wallets (32bit and 64bit Ubuntu) to the main website.  The links are on the first post of this thread that we update on a regular basis.  The Apple MacOS wallet will be out shortly.  Some businesses have inquired as to an Android wallet and if we will be doing one of them.  The answer is "yes" - But not immediately.  Once we see a greater demand for one, we will build one and make it available.  They are much more expensive to create and until we see the need for one and multiple users requesting them, we will hold off.

We have just upgraded the source code again to Version 1.2.  There were some syncing issues with 1.1 and we added a patch that solves the problem.  Like before, the source code is available in the same place on Github and the IPC V1.2 Windows wallet is downloadable from the link in this thread or our website.  The two Linux wallets and Apple MacOS wallet will be available for download within 48 hours if not sooner.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  But in our rush to get the DGW3 and some other features into the upgrade, our testing was not as thorough as previous.  The new wallet syncs much quicker.  Additionally, we will be bringing a few more nodes on line in a few days as insurance for the long term.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE DGW3 FEATURE IS NOT OPERATIONAL YET AND WILL BECOME ACTIVE ON JULY15 TO GIVE EVERYONE TIME TO UPGRADE THEIR WALLETS !

So, from my understanding, you've sprung to life... just to bring down IMP. Bud, let me explain something. You can keep trying to bring us down by getting listed on the same exchanges as IMP, but it won't work. You'll put a Bitcoin into the voting address, we'll put in 4. Also, why bring it down? Can altcoins just get along with each other? We didn't want to compete with IPC, but, you've made it happen. Also, your coin's scrypt, right? Are you going to hardfork it over to another algo to make it "ASIC-resistant?"

You want a fight, IMP will give you a war.

Sprung to life???  We never went anywhere.  It is good to see that you among others follow our coin and thread here and are so interested to hear about the upgrades we have made to our coin.  We will continually look to improve our coin to stay competitive and current on coin technology.  Yes, ASIC -resistance is an option we are considering - one step at a time though.

In regards to a war, we resent that statement sir, or son. The crypto currency business is very competitive.  You have probably figured that out since you are out of school for the summer.  It must be nice to have the extra time to have nothing to do but sit around and vote on exchanges - I am sure your users appreciate that.  As do ours, who look for us to continually promote Imperial Coin (IPC) in all our targeted markets and gain listings on as many exchanges as possible to provide as many exchange options for our potential end-users as we can.  This is called promotion, marketing, competition, not war. The marketing group we have hired assured us maximum visibility and that is what we paid them for.  If that causes you grief, you are free to do the same with your coin - I would think your users are looking to you to do the same, not whine about and threaten other coins.

And finally, YOU were the one who named your coin the same as ours AFTER ours was going. YOU were the one who threatened us and said stay out of your forum thread and no talk of our coin.  And now you come and threaten us again and crap in our thread.  While Imperial Coin (IPC) users are entertained by your immaturity I am sure, they do not appreciate it any more than we do.  Please do what you must to support your own coin, but do NOT come into our thread and threaten our coin and users.

You guys should start saying "your mom" to each other in posts here, that's about as productive as both your drivel.  Or maybe you can compare penis sizes virtually via the forums.

Positioning UseCryptos.com regarding the ImperialCoin (IPC or IMP) name claim.

Is not our responsibility to decide who can or cannot use the name. I am not in any way taking credit of any coin, but we thought that the community is actually who decide which coin is the right one.

So what we can do?
Since both coins have different symbols and logos, we will placed both coins in our voting page, and if one of them wins, that one will be placed on our markets and we will remove the other.

The new source code is available and on GitHub.  Please download it and use it.  The wallets will be added over the next few days - we will have two Linux wallets (64bit and 32bit), a Windows Wallet and and MacOS Wallet available. New code has DGW 3 incorporated into it.  However, it is designed to delay implementation until July 15.  This should give everyone time to get the new wallets and the source code.  Once this is done we have some announcements with new pools and new exchanges.  Thanks so much for your continued support !!!

All, just to let you know that we will be taking a fork on Imperial Coin (IPC) in the next few days for the better.  As you know it is very competitive out there for coins now and it costs lots of money to get on exchanges and get retailers to use you.  While we are very happy with our 6 month performance to date, we thought that Imperial Coin could use some improvements that could help its value in the long term and prove to everyone that Imperial Coin is going to be here for a very long time.  While these are not what we consider significant changes, they do put us ahead of about 75% of the other coins floating around.  The changes that we can disclose are as follows:

1) Improved peer matching
2) Extraneous code cleanup to improved space requirements and coin efficiency
3) Full implementation of Deep Gravity Well 3 (DGW3)

We will continue to look for new ways to improve the coin going forward to make it competitive with other coins.  Several exchanges and retailers that we have talked with are looking forward to our changes and have committed to list us once we are done with the upgrades.  We will announce in this thread and Twitter when the changes are done and the new source and wallets are available.  At that time, EVERYONE will need to upgrade their wallets to take advantage of the changes and to stabilize the network.  We sincerely appreciate your support for the past 6 months and patience while we make the upgrades over the next few days.

OK, we are rolling in all the above changes which should significantly help the value of Imperial Coin and keep it competitive moving forward for a long time.  We hope to have the new source code available within 1-2 days with a Windows Wallet.  In a few days, we will also roll out both a 32 and 64 bit Linux wallet and a MacOS wallet.  Once those are done, we will update our block explorer and then launch or full scale marketing program which has been on hold till we get the coin updated.  Pending those changes, a couple of exchanges have agreed to list us.  But we have a lot of work to do first!  Thanks for supporting Imperial Coin (IPC) - the original one. We will make announcements here and on Twitter as the changes occur.  We look forward to all the new features and listing on more exchanges!

You config file needs more than that and should be in the IPC folder in the Roaming/App Data directory......something like this should work.......make sure it is properly named ImperialCoin.conf file

testnet=0
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=userpassword
gen=0
genproclimit=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=162.208.11.45
addnode=198.27.109.80
rpcport=36980

Put these in your config file......

addnode=162.208.11.45
addnode=198.27.109.80

not sure if these will help or not, but we have miners mining thousands of coins all day now to the pool and then withdrawing it on a regular basis to their wallets.  So it does not appear anything in our network is not working.  c

Thanks again.

I've put these in a config file (it's the only thing in the config file....)  still nothing.  So frustrating.  Should the config file be in the IPC folder or in the appdata \ roaming folder?  If that doesnt work, I'm giving up.

Thanks for all your patience.

All, just to let you know to stay tuned to our Twitter page and this thread.  We have started work on some serious upgrades to Imperial Coin (IPC) that will make us stand above many others.  Additionally, we will have some added features that other coins have not added or even thought of yet.  Not sure how long it will take us to roll these in and get them checked out.  Please keep supporting IPC with mining and on the Comkort and AllCrypt Exchanges for now.

Well. we just closed three wallets on different computers and opened them all back up with no issues.  You could try the add node option with 198.27.109.80 - use just one and see if that helps some. As far as we know, you are the only one having this issue.  Have you tried it without your old wallet.dat file?  Maybe the old one got corrupted some way.

Thank you so much for the info.  Could you kindly tell me how?  (Like I said - a newbie.)  Smiley

Thanks again.
