Bitcoins have become a famous international currency ,
which are easy and convenient to use. Faucets are a
method for earning btc. But, they've turned to be useless
and bad..here's why
(1) They pay very very very low-- They pay 100 satoshis
at a time, which is hell low..
(2) Time consuming-- They consume too much of your
time and pay you too low..It's simple waste of time.
(3) Some websites are fraud-- Some websites make you
click some ads for their own benefit and pay you nothing,
hence making you a fool

Thats like saying, when people start up Bitcoin casinos, they should just tell everyone they are valid with no proof and no promotions and then wonder why you went broke.  You need to have this stuff around, people don't just buy into things blindly.

i think you are right, making people think bitcoin is a get rich quick thing is not a good idea. remove faucets.

Why should they remove faucets? you can learn something from faucets as a newbie in bitcoin, the small amount you get from faucet can actually increase if bitcoin value increases too, I myself are still using faucet but i'm stick to only one faucet now, don't make mistake in the small amount you make in bitcoin because in a long run you will never know!

they think the same for every other money system, even fiat, it's eradicate in the human nature, it'0s not faucets fault, at all, they help newbie actually

i see them as a low reward form of mining, with almost zero electrcity, it can be in the future a good way to spread bitcoin, when even a few satoshi will have a huge value

As a newb I've really enjoyed using faucets to make small amounts of Bitcoin to mess around with. I don't waste hours a day clicking on faucets, but at the same time gain about 10-20 cents to mess around with per week. Granted I could just as easily find a way to purchase $20 worth of part of a BTC, but at the same time the faucets have showed me how to set-up a wallet and send and receive money. I've been able to "invest" some money into some loans at BTCJam and Loanbase. Finally I've learned how to set-up paper wallets and more secure BTC storage all with "free" satoshi. I don't know how much is required to start trading, but I hope I can work my way up to that slowly as well. I'm not looking to get rich. Just educate myself about the world of bitcoin. Actually, coinbrawl was what first got me interested in bitcoin. Without those avenues I'd probably still have no clue or interest about bitcoin.

I may not be in the majority, but faucets (in my opinion) still serve a purpose.

Yup! this is true, in my newbie days I am using lot of faucets to earn a lot until now but has lessen a bit, and on faucets don't think about the earning think about the learning you will get by using faucets, this will be a head start for you in using bitcoin wallets, trading and experience in converting it to dollar and other currencies, because bitcoin can now be useful in everyday lives.

When BTC started, nobody had any and it was worthless, so it was right to give away thousands of BTC to make it popular. All that has changed. Now that BTC's worth something, now that companies are building on BTC, now that serious business transactions are made with bitcoin, it's about time for faucets to adapt.

BTC is real. It's money, and you've got to work to earn some. I hope all faucets will disappear in 2015. Faucets are hurting bitcoin by making some people believing you can get it while doing nothing sitting in your home. No, BTC isn't like that, and it shouldn't be any easier to get than any fiat currency. Even for small amounts.

yes that is an issue. but faucet give newbie opportunity to try bitcoin and experience using it. this is why they are made, just like on some site you get free $ for signing up or using service.
It is incentivizing bitcoin newbies!

Thats bullshit.

You need to give away small % so that people can try it.

Also a faucet itself is a business, but maybe it has some viruses, so people need good antivirus.

However faucets, survey sites, task sites, are all good services.

Faucet is not the best way to earn bitcoin. It is just to be used for promoting bitcoin to new users, making them familiar with bitcoin.

Faucet isn't a good way to earn much bitcoin nowadays because of low payment, but many new comers start to learn bitcoin via faucet, also I can earn some bits from faucet to pay tx fees when I have free time.

Bitcoins have gained too much popularity nowadays , they are turning our to be an amazing cashless currency . Faucets are a basic method for earning some small btc. But, they've  become useless and bad..here's why
(1) They pay very very very low-- They pay 100-200 satoshis at once which is very low...
(2) Time consuming-- They eat up your time, paying you nothing in round off figure
(3) Some websites are fraud-- Some websites make you click wrong ads for their own good and pay you nothing, hence cheating you.

Well there is no easy money, everyone needs to work to get paid, faucets are like works if you work pretty hard you can gain lots, if you want easy money there is an illegal job for you, and you might get arrested because of it, and another easy money is gambling but gambling have a 50/50 chance of gaining money from it sometime you can lose all your money from it.

I think that the faucets are yet a very big tool to spread bitcoin and to make people interested about it. Those are very important for the beginners who see in those a free earnings even this it is in very little amounts. In a same way the faucet make the people to have desire to have more and more bitcoin and after being annoyed with those to search for better alternatives (including buying some bitcoins). So, in other words, I think that faucets are an important tool to create the needed and the right "addiction" of the new bitcoin people with bitcoin.

Then, and this is important to be understood, is the market who decide if something is outdated activity or not. If the faucet will have not more users they will "close the doors and go home". If they continue to exist (and even multiplies - every day I see new ones) mean that they have yet users. If have users have no meaning to ask their extinction from the market.

Very expensiveness advertisng imo

Faucets are waste of time since 2014. If you don't experiment first faucet which gives 5BTC per claim you couldn't know how it feels. Smiley
Now the biggest faucet gives only dust, I pay more fee than that claims in a single transaction.

Late 2012 to early 2013 was the last time I know faucets give 1 - 5 bitcoins max. That was when the prices are below $30 I think, and the idea of faucets aren't that very known yet unlike today.

uh 1 btc is really good even if the price was only 30, this is far better than what we have today, i think 1-5 btc was too much, maybe you're confused

could be more true if it was in 2010 or so, but i doubt there were faucets back then, maybe i'm wrong..
There were actually faucets paying 5BTC. It wasn't anywhere near $30. MT Gox didn't even exist at that time, the market value was very low or rather, undetermined. After it started rising, faucets gave out 0.05BTC per claim in 2011
